Hey guys finished installing the PCB Hori Fighting Commander 4 in my arcade stick and he is resetting every eight minutes this right that the PS4?

Wait a sec, what if the blue tooth authentication failed?
A commonly accepted theory is that the PS4 uses bluetooth for controller authentication, even with wired controllers.

Only other thing I can think of there no 8 min time out and their is a break in the USB cable, and moving the cable causes the controller to disconnect

That’s weird. Isn’t the 8 minutes timeout related to the Bluetooth authentification?
So the PS4 somehow lose the “authentification” but not the “connection” to the FC board.

Could it be related to the lenght of the USB cable, or some “noise” in the communication?

Edit: ha crap, toasted by Darksakul while I was writing this…

I will check the USB cable, it restarts 2 times then not not disconnected more.

So apparently HORI has PS4 pads with a touchscreen.
Has anyone hacked one of these?

Will there be a fighting game that will require the use of the PS4s touchpad? Out of the current and future fighting games Guilty Gear, Blazblue, USF4 and SFV none seem to utilize it.

Also, I have a question regarding the DPDT switch and the data wires that are to connect to it. I made a mistake I cant go back on( as I have already soldered and applied hot glue to the wires to it before soldering them on the board) I wanted to know if the colors of the wires matter or if it doesnt. For example onthe top row of the switch I have the green wires and bottom the White I without paying attention have one white and one green backwards and was wondering if I can connect that top white to one of the boards to act as my D+ and green as D- will it be ok,even though on the other connectors I have the green acting as D+ and white as D- ?

Once again sorry for the question but Im still learning

Doesn’t matter what color the wire is as long as they are in the right place

Swap the two wires on the accessible end.
Everything will be good to work then.

Thank you I put it aside because I thought I messed so Ill do as i thought was right and solder the white to D+ on the board and green as D- while keepjng the other green as D+ and whites as D-. As I didnt know how to remove hot goue safely from the metal part and wires.

The boards are above each other with some stand-off.
It seems 2 boards drown too much power on the my 3.3V rail, so I need a full 5V for the old/next gen on each PCB. Once again a small kynar patch make the job but I need to update the design.
Everything else works fine, I played 20mn on GGXrd without any timeout.

Hori Fighting Commander 4 (PS3/PS4) (with support of LS/DP/RS switch and Turbo Button)
Mortal Kombat X fightpad (X360/XOne)

And of course my PCB + the custom control panel.

Yeah, the MKX and Hori FC 4 boards are expecting 5 volts.
