This is why I always try to avoid soldering/desoldering the USB cord where it attaches to the USB cord, instead I try to splice the cable instead where necessary.
You can try to follow that trace until you come across a point you can solder too, it usually be a component or via, this will be more difficult that soldering to the pad so be careful.
And next time don’t keep your iron too long on the pad or the pad will lift off.
I recently modded my te-s and I found out that whenever I connect it via a usb hub/extension cord, my controller gets disconnected 5 seconds later; however, if I plug it in directly to the ps4 this won’t occur and works completely fine. It is almost as if the usb hub doesn’t have enough to power the controller. I modded my controller with madcatz 360fightpad + hori fc4, has anyone experienced the same?
It doesn’t have an external power supply and it is strictly 360+fc4, I disconnected the ps3 board but I am using the dp/rs/ls as a switch between ps3/ps4 on the fc4.
It seems the issue was on the hub, its one of those hubs that comes with the ps4 vertical stand with cooling fan. My stick does not get disconnected anymore after switching to a new non-powered usb hub.
Theres the ps4 hori fps which I believe is common ground. Its the one that lacks a touch pad. I say ‘believe’ because I’ve seen it used in a Japanese players Atrox stick before. (I saw it twice, but I think it was just the same persons stick). I didn’t actually check to see if it was really dual modded or if they just gutted out the Atrox pcb.
Then there’s the ps4 hori fps plus. This one if I recall correctly is not common ground. I think it was Dark Sakul who checked it out.
Will there be a fighting game that will require the use of the PS4s touchpad? Out of the current and future fighting games Guilty Gear, Blazblue, USF4 and SFV none seem to utilize it.
Also, I have a question regarding the DPDT switch and the data wires that are to connect to it. I made a mistake I cant go back on( as I have already soldered and applied hot glue to the wires to it before soldering them on the board) I wanted to know if the colors of the wires matter or if it doesnt. For example onthe top row of the switch I have the green wires and bottom the White I without paying attention have one white and one green backwards and was wondering if I can connect that top white to one of the boards to act as my D+ and green as D- will it be ok,even though on the other connectors I have the green acting as D+ and white as D- ?
Once again sorry for the question but Im still learning
To add to this, you think its Common ground till you notice the face buttons has its own ground, the Start, select and home has its own ground, the D-pad has its own ground. And I don’t recall what the triggers has now. They might be active high instead of active low, I don’t have the pad any more to confirm this.
Hey guys. I’m looking at an FC4 on play-asia http://www.play-asia.com/fighting-commander-4/13/708jrd and it says it’s a US version (the JP one is sold out). Is this going to be a problem? Does something change in the PCB?
I’m asking cause someone mentioned that the “Hori pads distributed in Japan are common ground.”
