I just “love” people that never improve and somehow manage to stay at the same pp/bp for months/years (usually around 3k bp). There’s three that I run into regularly on pc and I’ve never seen them play any other char besides their one main.
It baffles me how they play like it’s day one sf and do gimmicky shit like fullscreen ex run with Guy and teleport into you with Akuma to try and catch you with yolo U2.
But my favorite by far is this one Gen whose whole game plan revolves around trying to land fullscreen ogas and crane j.mk cross-ups into c.lk launcher or lp blockstrings into more cross-ups. I just down back and let him kill himself as I AA him 10 times in a row.
>playing Ranked last night
>Ken mashes EX DP to try and chip me out
>I only have to block one hit so I live
>press rh to finish him off
> Ryu s.rh whiffs over his recovery frames due to him semi ducking upon landing
>get hit by another EX DP and lose
I’ll add one because my PC died and I’m stuck on PS3 til hopefully tonight: kicking people from my lobby with orange bar and getting hatemail. That and being a semi-conservative Sakura of course.
Online Ken are the best.
PC has a lot of online combo less Chun Li too. They’re the funniest. Sometime I wonder if they really think their stupid gameplan of neutral jump HK into sweep or hazunchu is legit in their mind.
Paranoid “A” ranked players. If you beat them, you get accused of using an alt account. If they barely beat you, they vanish or you get kicked. First to one, no runbacks. The ultimate test of skill.
“One trick ponies”. I fought a B rank Cammy that would only do spin knuckle into dp or throw. It didn’t work, but he kept doing it. How did he get those points?
I’m not a fan of ranked matches. I mostly play in 1v1 Endless lobbies now.
Online Kens are hilarious, rarely do you find one that doesn’t mash DP like crazy. Just wait, don’t try to pressure so much, just bait out the DPs and punish. Wait but they should be on to you and stop doing DPs every time right? Nope…I’m going to put this clip again cause it fits most online Ken players (no offense to legit Kens intended).
I guess the only thing I like about ranked is that in general people play more serious from the start, because they’re afraid to lose points. Other than that, I prefer 1 on 1 endless lobbies, since there’s still a lot of players who aren’t just goofing around.
i play a gimmicky ken online and have fun with the DPs and kara throws. i’ve gotten shit for it when i play offline against my friends but i just tell 'em “mindgames are mindgames”. sure you can respect the player you gets his 2f links and times his jumps but even at high level play its the unpredicted setups that pros fall for. i laughed so hard watching daigo dp gamerbee 3 times in a row at dreamhack
