Trying to find a good universal air to ground OTG chain with a hyper charging star finish. been messing around and haven’t found a good string just yet.

I also discovered you can do a double Shield Slash H for combo 1 string instead of the Shield Slash H into Shield Slash L (i think its easier tbh) I even got a third shield slash H out of it just messing around.

Combo 1:
j.HK, c.LK, HP, HK, f.HP, Shield Slash H, f.HP, Shield Slash L, f.HP, d.HP, sj.LK, sj.HP, sjf.HK, sj.HK, (dash) c.LK, HP, Charging star H, HCS / Unyielding Justice.

Found another variation where you can do 2x Shield Slash H, F. HP, Shield Slash H. Again the timing is a little tight also I noticed that you can squeeze some extra moves in depending on the spacing of your shield slash. Definitely something to monitor

So, I was training a few minutes ago and I realized that landing a second HP shield slash seems somewhat tricky. I’m not sure but it seemed as if sometimes I was pressing LP but shield slash would still go upwards. I was actually trying to land a forward shield slash (LP), as you can see when I land the full combo.

It’s a new move that a lot of people tend to forget. Until we have frame data, the most we can do is compare it to UMvC3 counters for Wesker, Taskmaster and Ammy, all three of which were situationally useful at best.

Since you’re inputing the qcf motion immediately after Shield Slash H you’re likely getting a negative edge H.

Anyone plan on starting a video thread or just keeping things in here since there’s not much discussion going on?

If you have a partner tag out with reality stone you should be able to do the setup. I forgot to include crouching opponents, they will get hit but whether you get a full combo or not pretty much depends on how small their hitbox is.

J.dlp whiffs on most crouchers.

Yeah, I double checked since my point of referrence was Thor (his crouch is as low as mid-sized characters but his width is huge so it works on him based on distance) and realized how wrong I was. It only works on crouching Nemesis, Thanos, Hulk, Thor* and Haggar* (* requires proper spacing). Anyway, it’s a very raw concept so hopefully someone can improve on it as it really isn’t anything special right now.

I also checked which caracters whiff on shield slash H, the results were RR, Arthur, Morrigan and, (surprisingly) Hawkeye.

It’s still useful. I’ve been using it for a long time. Just have to make sure your opponent is stuck in block stun while standing.

Tweaked the mission combo and have been using it:
-Midscreen: Leap Kick, Air Shield Slash L, S.lk. S.hp, C.hp, A.lp x2, A.lk x2, Air Shield Slash L, A.hk, dash, Charging Star L, Hyper Charging Star (first A.SSL whiffs on Strider, Spider-Man, Rocket, Arthur, X, Zero)
-Midscreen: C.lk x2, S.hp, S.hk, rest of above combo
-Corner: Above starters, launcher, A.lp x2, A.lk x2, A.hp, A.hk, Charging Star H, Hyper Stars & Stripes
-Corner: above combos but A.hk instead of Shield Slash, tag Arthur, C.hp, A.hp, A.hk, Hellbound Slash, cancel first hit with Goddess Bracelet

Also, a little Mind Stone tech:
-Kara Canceling S.hk into surge from around neutral position works well.
-When tagging into Cap from Arthur doing Goddess Bracelet, surge right after the last hit (on block).
-Double-jump instead of Air Shield Slash L during midscreen combos and surge when the opponent techs, (sort of) resetting them.

Power Stone:
-Surge allows you to combo after Trick Shield H hits. Can be converted into bnb.
-Kara Canceling S.hk into surge from around neutral position is a good mixup. The same works with Leap Kick.

Time Stone: During Leap Kick + Shield Slash L, if you wait to surge a second after the first shield hits them, the returning shield will also hit them before your surge is done.
-Jump Shield Slash L x2 (as in two jumps) followed by surge keeps you in the air for a fair amount of time.
-Storm combo: Leap Kick or C.lk starter, S.lk until hit count is 10, S.hp until hit count is 25, Charging Star L, super
