Can I replace Dante with Vergil? And if that works, which anchor and assist for all team members?
Zero/Vergil/Hiryu and Zero/Vergil/Hawkeye are pretty good. You could try one of those.
Zero/Vergil/Doom?
It depends and varies depending on your skill-level, executional ability with your characters, and just overall playstyle.
Vergil is great for Zero, especially in 2nd slot, if your executional ability with Zero is sub-par. If you can’t corner carry? Rapid Slash will do the job, if you can’t pick up off air throws? Rapid Slash makes it so easy to convert off throws, and lets you toy around with the HSD limits of your combo. Can’t LLoop? Spiral Swords DHC will take care of everything. So if your execution isn’t up to snuff yet, Vergil in 2nd is great.
However, if your execution is on point, Rapid Slash doesn’t do as much ( still good for reliability and conversions though ).
Thats just a minor detail though, other factors you need to consider are things like, are you okay with playing an anchor like Doom? It takes a lot more work to make a 1v3 comeback with Doom than with Vergil, you really need to outplay and outguess your opponent as Doom, whereas Vergil just needs to overwhelm. I personally cannot play XF3 comeback anchors like Vergil so hes a bad pick for me, but its a great choice for some people.
I would personally pick Zero/Vergil/Hawkeye if I wasn’t super confident in my play yet. Hawkeye anchor is really straightforward to play, and its much easier to utilize greyhound for Vergil. Missiles is godlike though if you’re confident in playing Doom anchor

In theory, how is Zero/Dante/Trish or Zero/Trish/Dante?
I planned on maining this team day 1 when Ultimate was in my hands, but Never got around to it because Trish Wasn’t Gloria yet. (DLC, sigh.)
I know Zero has Synergy with both, I guess which is the worse anchor, right?
If you want to play Vergil, keep playing him, hes a really effective character.
As far as ZDT vs ZTD I would say Zero/Trish/Dante, simply because Jam session will do a lot for Trishs keepaway game and mixup as well considering shes a tridash character. Theres probably a bit better DHC synergy between Zero/Trish/Dante as well.
Trish and Dante I would say are similar in anchor power, Dante probably edges out but Trish is pretty sick too, and I would say Trish is a much simpler anchor to utilize due to her dive kick and her supers don’t really take too long to complete. I’d say just try it out and feel which is better.

I’ve been doing some soul searching for a B team (counterpick team) and I came across Zero/Dante(Jam Session)/Doom (Hidden Missiles).
And I am in absolute love. If you are one of those patient, lame-zoning type of zero players who like to keep space away from the opponent and bait for hit confirms, this team is absolutely perfect. You can also throw in both assists in one combo for a major combo extension for crazy damage.
I also never realized how great Dante with missiles is; I’m convinced that Dante is just as great (or even better) as Zero at playing keep-away and baiting for hit confirms off of punishes. The only downside is having Doom as an anchor but… I think it’s doable. Afterall, Doom anchor won Evo
Nothing would make me happier than to switch out Strider for Doom but I’ve got no clue how to use missiles with Dante (outside of combos).

this video is pretty old but it shows some nifty resets you can get off of Doom Missiles. Also, using it as a neutral assist, missiles are perfect to call out while you’re setting up your own barrage of air plays andhysterics. I also like to switch it up with random drives or midscreen reverbshock to fireworks to catch people pressing buttons; overall, doom missiles just add’s another layer of cover for Dante in keeping him safe or unapproachable. That’s why I’m thinking of switching to this team fulltime.
Zero/Dante/Doom is definitely not made for complete rushdown (unless you plan to switch from missles to plasma beam); playing with missiles requires you to develop a habit of starting the match fullscreen and throwing layers and layers of projectiles to test the tendencies or bad habits of your opponent. One key thing is to make sure that Doom is covered properly and not called out against characters who can instantly punish the assist (dormammu, spencer, strange, storm-hail DHC).
the only problem I see with Zero,dante,doom, is that you’ll have 2 “so-so” anchors when zero dies. Granted, they arent bad as anchors, just not as good as Vergil or even Akuma.
TBH I like Zero/Dante/Hawkeye a lot more than Zero/Dante/Doom. Triple Arrow > Plasma beam, and Hawkeye is better than Doom as far as anchors go.
Been taking a break from the game during Ramadan, but dropped in to say that my stable of characters was/is almost complete. Have to do more testing, but I think I have a solid 4-5 characters so far which includes an awesome main team.
For those that don’t know, my goal is to create 1 main team and surround them w/ 3-4 characters that I can plug in for counterpicks, etc. Worked great for me in MvC2 and w/ the way the game seems to be heading I think it’ll work here too. Of course Zero is on point by default - though he may be in the second or third slot depending on who I sub in. I love Dark Zero.
i think myself and Ultimator fall under that same model CTG. Zero/Spencer is my best tandem but i have like 6 teams surrounding those 2.
How does Zero/Wesker/Strider survive? taking that team up against morri/doom or mags doom is pretty brutal…any strong zone or complete rushdown team could give you fits.
I would love if you could share them in the forum! I don’t like to use one team so it would solve my problem
