I hate ZMC personally. Put 2 best assists for Zero on a team? The team is bad once Zero dies. If you play a Sparda brother with Zero, play a character with a beam assist or arrow assist.

Those are not the 2 best assists for Zero (well Jam Session is, but Rapid Slash isn’t even close). Rapid Slash is good but Missiles, Plasma Beam, Unibeam, Repulsor Blast, Disruptor, Cold Star, Drones, Bolts of Balthakk, Eye of Agamotto are all better plus probably a bunch of others.

You are right though; switch one of the twins for Strider, Magneto, or Ammy and you get a better team. You’re wrong about the team being bad after Zero dies however - Vergil anchor is never bad.

Yeah, I completely agree. I was thinking in terms of combo extensions, but then remembered that plenty of other assists do the same things for him.

And when I said it was bad, I was implying Dante/Vergil isn’t that good compared to things like Dante/Strider, Dante/Magneto, or Dante/Ammy. (Maybe even Dante/Doom or Dante/Strange.)

And actually, I think the best team when it comes to combo extensions is actually Zero/Dante/Dr.Strange. You get 2 guaranteed extensions regardless of hitstun.

Maybe no Evo, Maybe not enough 1st at a major, but It has it’s own use. I use it for “MY interenet is being ass and Lag is annoying me, so… ARROWS” team.

zero/frank/strider? since frank has a tac infinite gives strider meter for days. i’ll test it out and see how it works. In theory it should be a pretty solid team as long as zero doesn’t get hit first.

I use to be a hater of zero may cry, but it really is the best zero team in theory.

Using zero you will always be meter positive even if your killing with lightning loops so its real easy to save meter for vergil in the back. Funny thing at this point with MOST players. They bullshit ways to kill my zero now. These include xfactor guard cancel grabs or just use xfactor to build moment to hit zero. Zero teams do need a really STRONG anchor to counter this tactic. Cause some players will blow all their resources to kill him or play like a nut. If they ever do get to vergil they will have to fight xfactor 3 vergil with 5 meters most likely. Dante if he ever lands a touch can TOD with vergil swords dhc. The team has great synergy meter wise and with TOD tools for all characters. I agree the assists are lack luster, but Ive found playing zero without a neutral assist has made my zero stronger. The only real assist he needs is jam session to make the opponent block or do left right mix-ups as you teleport away from them. Zero is a runaway character imo. His movement is so fast if you know what teleports to use in certain situations and you can kill off of any buster or jam session hit. Its waay too good.

I’ve got plenty of knowledge on all 3.

1. Zero/Doom/Strider works in a ton of ways, but you REALLY have to practice Strider and Doom, Strider is weak, but can get easy to block if you don’t know how to fake people out, and Doom is more than just foot dives (normally). Doom Beam is by far the MOST friendly assist, and easy to confirm off of at almost any point because of how long it lasts. Both Zero and Doom get Combo extension’s off of Vajra, and if not used for the Combo, the Assist keeps Zero and Doom on top of what they dominate the most in this game: The Air. Strider scares people from Jumping up and pressing a button, leaving you 3 scenarios at all times: 1.They jump press a button and get knocked down, leading to a full combo for both Zero and Doom. 2.They Jump, Block, and you can sJ up to them and Grab off it, Also leading to a full combo. 3. You Make them try to approach from the ground more, making Zero AND Doom’s Left/Right and High/Low Cross up game a Lot better. It’s good, but you’ve got to learn more with Strider than XF3 Ouroboros and M Teleport.

2. Zero/Doom/Ammy is Good too, but for different reasons. If you’ve ever seen MarlinPie or Clockw0rk play, then you already know that Doom/Ammy is a really Good combination. Sometimes it takes as much as a Full Screen Team Super, XFC and Jump in for a Mix-Up with Doom while Ammy’s Super goes crazy making it hard to see where you’re coming from. Zero gets help from Doom (same as above), and Ammy’s Help to Zero comes in the same combo extending form, but instead of Air Control, you now have Corner control. Zero has a pretty good Fuzzy Guard for people who can keep characters in the corner, just by hitting low, j.:l:, and on hit :l: Teleport to immediately hit low again. She gives Zero reset potential too, a good guess on which way they roll (forward, back, or neither) and an assist call, and you’re back in control.

3. The best Local Zero player here uses this team, but uses Zero/Trish(Volt)/Doom(Missiles) and has created amazing synergy from them. there’s even another player named The Artisan who’s picked up this team too. Primarily, Trish is your new Beam, being a quicker and shorter version, and Missiles serves both of them as perfect combo extenders. Keeping missiles in play Helps Zero Land a full combo of a single missiles landing, with a great DHC into Round Harvest that leads to it’s own combo entirely. Same goes for Trish, but instead ofw on Hit, she prefers the Missiles blocked, and Focus’s on Square Jumps (SJ to Dash Forward Almost immediately after leaving the ground, creates a dash that’s a lot more sudden and lower to the ground for a High/Low Mix-up) and a Mix up cr.:l:, cr., and j.:s: for High/Lows. And while Doom as an Anchor is not the best, learning his bad match-ups and having patience will make it a lot more bearable, and with enough practice, Doom shouldn’t ever need to come out.

I was probably going to settle on doom/ammy, but now I have been encouraged to go for trish/doom (it makes oh so much sense!) and i’m pretty happy about that. I’ll miss the huge long beam of doom, but hm is a pretty sweet assist and trish’s volt is pretty quick and indeed serves the beam’s purpose, plus I feel very comfortable playing her. I always felt awkward with strider and now I have something a little less common than z/d/s to get some skill with

Zero’s best assists are Jam Session and Hidden Missiles. He also goes well with good-in-general assists such as Drones, Cold Star, Disruptah, Vajra etc.

I need a good second character. Or I could switch Zero to second or Wesker. Point being I want a team with both Zero and Wesker. Any advice on a third?
