The Zero MvC3 "Team" Thread

Ok so finally be able to post some videos from thins I’ve been talking about:

I use Zero as a pressure character and he can open up for either Deadpool or Dante. Sad to say, I’ll swap out Zero for Thor if the situation calls for a tank.

Thanks for that combo Kef. I’m actually looking a little more into Magneto now too though. Zero/Mag/Doom have effective and easy DHC’s between all 3 characters without any need to really modify their combos, whereas Iron Man and Doom don’t seem very compatible with each other outside of aerial Photon Array DHC to Proton Cannon or Iron Avenger. I don’t think Mag’s assists are as good for Zero as Iron Man’s though, and it still worries me running 2 characters with such low health, but Marn seems to get away with it.

I tried Mags today and I love his combos and mobility, but his assist is really bad, even for Zero. I am used to having 2 or even 3 great assist on my team due to MVC2 top tier.

I’m new to the game and I use Zero/Dormammu/Dante.

Zero-Shoryuken move (To get people off Dormammu)
Dormammu-dark hole (To lock down character and go for Zero mixups)
Dante-Jam session (Versatile move that protects Zero Dormammu when zoning with either)

I’m still very new to the game and noticed zero can lame it out pretty well or Rushdown like a beast.Dormammu is feelin broken awesome hahaha and I don’t get dante but assist is sweet.

It’s very important to find a good DHC synergy with your team. Zero likes Dormammu and Dante as assists, so they all kind of support each other which is great.

I’ve experimented with Zero+Dante DHC synergy before and it’s not good. Zero+Dormammu is decent, and the good thing is that it is good with Zero>Dormammu but bad Dormmau>Zero, that menas it’s not that important because Dormammu doesnt need to DHC most of the time, but instead use Stalking Bomb or Chaotic Flame. I like your team but you should consider changing Dante IMO.

I’ve played around a bit more with Dante too and he’s not quite as bad with Zero as I once thought, but he’s still lacking. I wouldn’t recommend Dante to you though if you say you’re new because to get the most out of him you need really tight execution, otherwise you’re probably better off with someone else.

Zero, X-23 (Ankle Slicer), Dr. Doom

A ton of chemistry with DHCs and some nice tricks to setup X’s lvl3. Not sure about assists with Zero or Doom. Thinking Ryuenjin if I go Photon Blast with Doom. If I go Hidden Missiles I’ll pro probably go Handeki with Zero.

nice reset but looks a little strict on the assist timing.

on the 2nd combo vid after iron mans angled cannon, it would be a lot more beneficial if you DHC’ed with sougenmu into D-loop. dmg potential can be more exponential. but its preferential at this point

The timing is not that strict on the assist, I am used to adjusting assists in blockstrings/combos because of MVC2 Strider.
And the combo doesn’t allow for the complete D-Loop, maybe one or two more hits because of the hitstun deterioration.

Did some experimenting earlier. I think Doom’s Photon Blast is probably going to be more useful for this team. Theorhetically, it should clear out the screen and allow for Zero and X to use their command dashes to get in. My initial plan was to use Hidden Missiles to pin them down (especially for Silent Kill), but clearing out the screen with Photon Blast just seems like it’ll be more useful. I also have other setups for Silent Kill. Not sure who will be on point.

Now time to learn X-23 and Doom - should be fun.

yeah i ue that set up except i got wesker instead of x-23. Though i really do like her with zero and doom. I got rid of tron and put in doom bc i think doom is better with zero and helps with the mix ups. Photon blast should be the assist to use with zero

There’s no such assist…or even move as Photon Blast. There’s a Photon Shot, but that’s not an assist either. Doom’s assists are Plasma Beam, Hidden Missiles, and Molecular Shield. The one you’re probably talking about (Plasma Beam) is definitely the best match with Zero.

It’s also to note that IM beam assist leaves enemies standing, which allows Zero for better combos, but the fact that Zero can DHC into and out of Doom from everywhere is a huge advantage.

Thanks for the insight guys.I’ve decided to try swap Dante with Magneto.Which I think will help out Dormammu and zero pretty well.

i havent messed with assists much, so i was hoping you guys could inform me of some good set ups with spiderman and amaterasu. im not askin anyone to go out of there way and experiment for me, just if anyone knows some shit already lol. i really wanna run this team.

I was messing around with assist combos today and I think I found a pretty good reset for Dante’s Jam Session if you end a corner combo with it. Instead of relaunching after the Jam Session, jump straight up and try to air throw them. Then, as you come down, call your other assist (in my case, Taskmaster’s horizontal Aim Master) to catch them while you Sentsuizan, then relaunch, mmhs, call Dante again, Sentsuizan, then you can go for the reset again or just finish the combo this time. Once they start getting wise and trying to throw break you, you can try staying on the ground and hitting them with a standing :h:, then go into a combo from there. If they tech forward, you’ll need to dash back first to catch them. :h: Ryuenjin can catch them, too, if you time it right.

You can even release a seoncd lv.3 buster while the Jam Session is hitting and you still get the effect that lets you go for the air grab. Posted it on the first pages of the combo thread.

Ah, sorry, it’s on the third page for me. I recall reading that now, but I completely forgot about it. We should probably have a list of all the resets along with the combos they apply to so I can just check that and not look like an idiot again.
