The Zero MvC3 "Team" Thread

Yes you are right, I actually have uses for Zero’s assists. With Zero - A, then after aerial rave with Tron and go for a Otg. after I land I call Zero in and press down + H Zero then picks them up and then do up + S to do a ground bounce. problem is that’s its a really tight link.

For assist Y, Im liking it because it acts like a beam. So it helps somewhat when I want to get in. Downside is Zero dies if I use it wrong.

but for assist - A, does it have invincibility? I was playing earlier and I’ve hit people out of thier moves. This Wolverine did a string and cancel into berserker barrage. I push back and call Zero and it hits Wolverine out of his move. I also did it to a doom who did Plasma beam. I call Zero in and as Plasma Beam has already been active for a few frames and Zero swoops in and hits him out of it

I was running that team, but I felt that it was dying to rushdown to easily once they got in.

Genuinely don’t understand the point of Iron Main flight/double jump combo’s. Maybe there’s very advanced things I’m not seeing that extend the damage, but so far, it seems incredibly not worth it to double jump + fly in one combo, it’s either less or just slightly more damage than going for a basic ABCS>BCS>Smart Bomb OTG>Hyper, which does very solid damage by itself.

I know people seem to want to stray from Sentinel as a third, but really, Drones assist is obnoxiously good and in the event that Zero dies, Sentinel+Doom or Doom+Sentinel is absurdly effective at keep away and rushdown.

I also really like Amaterasu but I need to sit down and learn how to play him. That ice assist is -obnoxious-.

So I was looking at Avarice’s checklist of the “Best” Assists that sync up with Zero well and I’m pretty confused as to why the only good Deadpool assist is his Trigger Happy Assist…With the way Zero plays, the ONLY Assist you should use with Deadpool is Quickwork. You get the most retarded setups with it. First, straight up unblockables if you knockdown into Zero’s Heavy Hienkyaku Dash into j.H with Deadpool’s Quickwork is a free hit into 600,000 Damage at least. Its nearly braindead! Hell of a lot easier than setting up a low hit with an overhead Assist. Second, if they try to jump to avoid it, you can go one step further and go for bullshit mixup. I was playing a friend of mine today and I was running Zero on point, Spencer Armor Piercer and Deadpool Quickwork. All I needed was one knockdown and I won. Not to mention that if you really need to, Zero with Hadangeki Assist in Sougenmu with Deadpool out makes for some very strong zoning. Last great thing is both Spencer and Deadpool have the ability to setup Zero DHC into Sougenmu and get huge damage. Cuttin’ Time DHC Sougenmu was 1 Million Damage just from doing a bunch of j.H loops midscreen.

I only looked at the assists that could be used during Zero’s advanced BnB without sacrificing any damage. Using an assist to get 600k is pretty lackluster when you can use some to get 800k, unblockables are definitely a good thing to have though. I have however found more assists since then that work with the combo by changing the timing a bit, I just haven’t gone back to look at Deadpool since he doesn’t really interest me in this game.

Did anyone else see the Levelup stream last night , Jwong was using Zero.handeki/Felcia.spike/Doom.beam. He was demolishing people and destroyed clockwork and floe. Team seemed to work extremely well with each other. Dhc from rekkoha into dancing flash was a staple for most of the night. Kitty helper w/ doom assist and zero’s shadow handeki assits were causing some serious mixups. He was using felicia assist to extend zero combos from otg sentsuizan, like most do w/ dante assist now. The stream archive should be up on levelup’s youtube channel soon, a must see.

sounds good Jwong is always innovative. I learned a lot from watching him at gvn.

D.pool + Zero is too good. I was using them with Hko and their unblockable set-up is just free damage.

I made a list of all the hypers you can use a Sougenmu DHCed into Taskmaster’s Aegis Counter against: (Wesker’s should work similarly)

Sweep Combo (if outside first attack’s range), Messatsu-Goshoryu (outside second attack’s range), Servbot Surprise (point blank), Death Penalty, Hyper Battering Ram (h attack range), Emergency Combination (outside first attack’s range), Final Justice (max range), Crawler Assault (m attack range), Mach Speed (h attack range), Berserker Barrage X (3/4 screen), Darkness Illusion (full screen), Dancing Flash (full screen), Rage Trigger (full screen), Weapon X Prime (max range), Hard Drive (h attack range), Rapid Fire Fist (outside first attack’s range), Giant Haggar Press, Gamma Crush (outside range when rising, and delayed a bit)

Good stuff Cauldrath. I guess this would work with Wesker’s counter too right? I am going to PM the thread author if he can add that list into the first post.

Iron Man-a and Doom-a is probably the hardest choice to make for me right now. Both don’t fit that good together.

Someone was just using my team (Zero, Storm, Sent) on the Final Round stream, but he played really badly :(.

Yep, I saw that. Zero’s apart from Marn are very bad.

The ones that play on stream I hope you mean =p

Otherwise I am hurt D:

On-topic, I’m getting better with Iron Man but I can’t find a way to connect a DHC from Proton Cannon to Rekkoha for the life of me.

You’re good Avarice, I meant the ones on the stream.

Just do the combo I posted, or OTG with M Smarth Bombs and quickly Angled Proton Cannon.

How about rahsaans Zero? Alot more defensive than Marn’s, but still pretty solid. Of course both make nice use of that Drones assist

Solid fundamentals on Rahsaan’s Zero, but no execution whatsoever. He would do just as well with any other rushdown character.

I think the same. Today I am going to do a heavy comparison on Iron-Man vs Doom because it is really not that good to put them both on a team IMO. Double-Beam is good but I like more versatility with my assists. If I find some good info on the comparision I’ll post it tomorrow night. I am going to be playing Castle Crashers with my cousin :slight_smile:

I’m actually liking having double beam for 2 main reasons:

  1. If one of your assists is low on health you don’t risk as much by calling the other one
  2. You can cover yourself with a beam to start a combo, and still call the other beam during the combo to get the full finisher

edit:
3. If one dies you still have one ^^
/edit

Then I take Ryuenjin assist to cover Doom’s bad anti-air and IM’s slow anti-air. The other option is to put Doom on Hidden Missiles assist which is also really good for Zero for other reasons (it basically refunds you for 1 mistake, and 1 mistake with Zero is death).

Also the Iron Man combo I’ve been using is:
midscreen:
j.:s: s.:m: c.:m: s.:h: :s: jump j.:m: j.:m: j.:h:~j.:d::h: double jump j.:m: j.:h: j.:s: land, dash, otg :dp::l: :qcf::atk::atk:

or corner:
j.:s: s.:m: c.:m: s.:h: :s: jump j.:m: j. :m: j.:h: fly j.:m: j.:m: j.:h:~j.:d::h: unfly, double jump, j.:l: j.:m: j.:s: land, otg:dp::l: :qcf::atk::atk:

Neither are really optimal combos, but both do over 660k and leave you at a slight meter advantage, and they’re both easy enough for me to do reliably… If I replaced :dp::l: otg with :m: and did the :dp: Proton Cannon would I be able to Rekkoha from it?

I am pretty sure you would in the corner.

Been reading the thread here for a while as Zero is one of my favorite characters, had so many diff teams with him some that worked and some that did not (started with zero wesker and x-23 but couldnt get it to work), and now im going with Zero (projectile assist), Doom (hidden missles not sure if i should change this for beam?) and Deadpool (quickwork was kr but found qw to be much nicer for combo’s). The teams working good so far but i’m not to sure about the assists i have with doom, is missles good and i just need a bit more practice? or should i go with his beam projectile? Thanks all :slight_smile:

Its actually easy to DHC off of Rekkouha into most supers, but some supers simply have bad synergy no matter what, examples being Maximum Wesker or most Autocombos such as Chris’s Sweep Combo. If the super travels in a straight line, 90% of the time you can catch them with both the DHC and Rekkouha.

You don’t actually have to wait for the Beams to come down to DHC, the moment Zero’s Buster hits the ground, the Rainbow Buster is a-comin’.

You input the next super when Zero’s arm hits the ground, and Rekkouha will actually pick the enemy up, which the next super will catch them. You might lose a couple hits off the DHC’d super, but you’ll still get your meter’s worth.

I’ve been toying around with Zero(a)/Ryu(y)/Chris(B). Chris’s gunfire assist helps alot with Zero’s pressure game and can be used to extend combos after Sentsuizan. Zero and Chris build decent amounts of meter, and their Supers DHC into eachother well.

My BnB with Zero is basically the one you learn in the mission. Jump in :s:/:h:, c.:l:, c.:m:, c.:h:, :f::h:, :l:, :m:, :h:, ,:f::h: :s:, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:h:, j.:s:, :a1:, air :d::df::f::h:, :f::h:, :s:, j.:m:, j,:m:, j.:h:, j.:s:, land, :d::df::f::atk::atk:

I can DHC that into Shinkuu Hadouken, and if I’m feeling particularly saucy, DHC THAT into Chris’s lvl3 super.

The whole team seems synergize well. The team is kind of a fun team more than anything, and thus is still in the lab. I don’t think it has usage in high level competative play due to the sheer lack of 50Sent.
