Hey man, any reason why you deleted all your vids? You’re the only person I know other than myself that uses Akuma and Yoshi.

I think i was trying to set them as unlisted or something and deleted them by accident , once i get decent again i gonna try to put up more.

That would be swell man. It can get lonely around here lol. Hopefully more players pick up Yoshi in 2013. He’s such a unique character I find it hard to believe that he sees so little play…

I bought a capture card recently so I’ll be able to make better quality vids. Though for some reason I can’t get the sound to play, I think the hdmi port on my xbox is busted. So once I figure out how to fix the sound I’ll be uploading matches and tech again.

I play Yoshi now too. Yoshi/Kuma prefferably, but also Yoshi/Marduk, Yoshi/Hugo (while he’s still viable). Only whe I really want to win I go with Gief/Cammy.
The main problem I still have is to get in and open people up. Sometimes I win by timeout agaonst bad players because I can’t apply pressure long enough to force them into making mistakes.
I guess I’m still too cautious with Yoshi.

But I just found your youtube-channel VulcanHades, I will study it to learn stuff. And maybe my gf stops playing Borderlands 2 so I can get to practice…

Welp, Street Fighter 4 is boring as hell so I’ll give 2013 a chance, I like this game but it was just too meh for me.

What all are we getting to play with in 2013? I heard our boy got hella buffed.

Yeah, Yoshimitsu will be pretty good. Tourney viable for sure if he wasn’t already. I don’t think he will be high tier but honestly I wouldn’t even be surprised if that was the case. I thought Yoshimitsu was already pretty good and now he just got like 3 times better. :slight_smile:

So, is windmill gonna be good for fucking with rolls or is it just going to be auto guarded? >_>

Also, my old Yoshi/Asuka team looks ridiculous with the buffs between them and the buffs and nerfs through system mechanics like rolls and throw speed.

Seems like you missed something. Wake up rolls won’t be punishable in 2013 like it was originally planned. Well, they are still punishable but only by throws. (If you roll, you can’t reversal and you can’t tech throws. You can only block)

And regular throws will be 2 frames faster and remove red life completely meaning they will be scary again.

Yeah i just didn’t know the properties of windmill, what type of actual hitbox it uses cause it’s all weird and puts people in an odd state. With Capcom patches you never know what kind of utter stupidness will happen.

Good news, Yoshimitsu keeps his j.hk ground bounce (it’s just untechable now). So now we get either a guaranteed free combo, a free raw tag or a free counter hit store whenever we land this air to air. :slight_smile:

Suicide does ridiculous damage. Depending on your partner you can easily kill someone with a reset.

Do you have an example of such an reset good sir?

Im thinking about learning Yoshi, but I’m having a hard time with his high-low game. What safe method does he have for hit confirming low?

He can’t hit confirm low unless your cr.lk was a counter hit. In which case you can link cr.lk into another cr.lk but again only on counter hit.

He hit confirms with:

-j.hp (hits multiple times).
-cl.mp, s.lp.
-cl.mp (ch), cr.mk.
-cr.lk (ch), cr.lk

Note that you can only combo lights into Windmill on counter hit.

For low you can do cr.lk xx HK Stone Fists xx switch which has the advantage of being impossible or at least very hard to cross-cancel.

Hey there, I’m a new member of the Yoshimitsu army (ignore the avatar, it’s old.) I’m hoping to use him with Ibuki. Would you say that Yoshimitsu is still a battery/support character that can start on point in this version? I’m really looking forward to learning him!

He still is one of the best at doing this.

I’m still playing him almost identical to as before just more efficiently. Having a strong AA and controlling ground space is absolutely glorious. The only big change to how I play is I do go in from time to time with high/low stuff. Cr.HK CADC is hilarious.

You can juggle off of it. Probably tag cancel it too. And unlike SRK it only adds 1 JP when used in a juggle.

And it’s throw invincible. Which is an important property to have when throws are so powerful. Unfortunately, it seems that we can only combo into EX Gehosen midscreen. So the combo potential of this move is in the corner mostly.

LP Suicide is throw invincible as well.

I tested this earlier and you can wake up s.hk to blow up throws. It isn’t airborne like I originally thought, it’s completely throw invincible from frame 1.

Now of course the question is, why would you wake up s.hk or reversal LP Suicide just to avoid throws, when MP Gehosen is both invincible to hits AND throws? Good question. LP Suicide xx switch can lead to better damage, but it loses to normal attacks and is unsafe on block. And s.hk still whiffs vs crouch and doesn’t low crush. So MP Gehosen is almost always a better option.

I only played the first few weeks of vanilla until I dropped the game, but I’m back for v2013, just like a lot of people and am ready to learn me some Yoshimitsu. My former team was Nina/Bison, and am looking to replace Bison with Yoshimitsu. What is the general consensus on him so far? I’m sure he didn’t receive dramatic changes like Paul, but still looks like he has some good ones. Looks like he’s better served on point, so would a Yoshi/Nina team work? He would build the meter and she would do the clean up work.
