I agree and disagree. despite what Dunn has done to the wrestling side of the company he was the forerunner of the constant change, evolution and branching out of the product.
It may have destroyed kayfabe in the grand scheme of things but without that exposure and outreach I don’t think wwe would have survived past the Monday night wars.
Steve Austin has even said if it hadn’t of been for Dunn he never would have been as iconic due to Dunn knowing exactly how to capture Austin at the exact moments whether it was matches or promos.
Dunn is a brilliant producer in a lot of ways. But he’s a fucking idiot when it comes to a lot of things. And he hates wrestling with a passion.
in regards to the giant swing, they made him stop using it because he’s a heel and giant swing is something people cheered and got hyped for. What heel wants the crowd to cheer for him?
Because he made RAW going public work. And how it looks is how audiences view it. And how audiences view a product is whether or my they’ll come back. And in a business like Wrestling that matters. So Dunn gets a day if he thinks it impacts the overall look and feel off the show.
WWE needs to let Bo Dallas turn up the troll factor to 11.
Orochi Cena trying to send a message made sense from a storyline perspective. To me, the execution left much to be desired. I think Bray might have hurt himself after the second german. I looked like he had his hand over his mouth and was talking to the ref.
Just as I was thinking that you don’t see face vs face matches in WWE too often, Gold & Stardust turn.
Last night’s Bray Wyatt incident still stings for me. I know the word “burial” gets thrown around a lot on the IWC, but that was a straight up capital letter BURIAL. I understand what they were going for…but did it really have to be a strong up and comer like Bray Wyatt?
If he can ultimately recover from this, then fantastic. But if not, they just crushed a potential future Hall of Famer and made him look like a joke.
Thing is, the Nexus wasn’t supposed to lose that fated Summerslam Elimination match, and was one of the few instances where Cena actually put his foot down and refused to job. It wasn’t until AFTER the match when Cena realized he was mistaken in his judgement.
Funny to see what happened to the Nexus after that SS match… Basically everyone faded into nothingness or became jobbers except for Wade Barrett…who is kinda cursed with injuries.
Or as Maxx would say THEY DIDN’T GET BURIED IT WAS A MINOR SETBACK.
