Important Stuff

If any of u guys can lend some TVs, systems, games, or power strips for the tourney, it would be greatly appreciated. The more stuff we have, the easier it’ll be 2 run all the tournaments very smooth & in an organized fashion.

I know a couple ppl have been asking if we need anything 4 the tourney. That is great & thank u 4 looking out. I will be bringing my TV & my PS3 for Tekken 5: DR. I know Josh & a few other ppl will be bringing some TVs, systems, & games as well 2 have the tourney run smoother. Just post up & let me know if u can help out. Thank u in advance. :china:

Sure, I know I can at least bring some power strips, if not a TV. Maybe a couple extra controllers? (PS2, I guess, don’t have another stick…)

I’ll play you in AE. I’m sure that pure ST would be on DC, and I refuse to play with that controller, and I dont do arcade sticks, nor do I have converter. If I do AA, I want the whole thing.

All are fine with me. I usually play with all versions. But a whole bunch elitist fags IF they even play this game, whine about use of other versions. I think mixing it up is much more fun.

If ST is on XBOX or DC, I’m out of the tourney. I am not using either of those controllers.

Mike Sluch, I’ll be busy all weekend, but I think everything is good to go. Talked to Chris Rose tonight, so pre him for 3S, MVC2 if it has enough comp and maybe ST.

As always, I’ll be taking MMs for JoJo’s and Vampire. I never have any takers, so that must make me a scary fucking guy(I’m looking at you, Arkayne. Happy b day, btw).

Anyway, we got one week and then the Winter Bashings occur, Bitches!

Wait…just…wow. Aren’t you the guy who only plays 3S if all the wacky nonsense is on and only play CVS2 if you can pick ex groove? If you cant play on a DC pad after all this time, maybe YOU should have retired. Furthermore, there are at least 15 people who can lend you a DC converter so Frank can have his way with you.

I only play like that cause them shits are boring as hell otherwise. But you know I can play either the normal way. When I sit out normal 3S and CVS2 when you play at Legend’s its not because I cant play, but rather dont feel like it. Same if anyone ever plays Alpha 3, I can play it, but the game is so unenjoyable that I dont.

Just remember I can play, but I’m not an elitist. I like my 3S with more than wake up parry into grab, I like my Marvel on PS2, and I like Alpha 1. And playing any of my “wacky nonsense” hasn’t made me weaker when playing anyone normally. Its the same basic game, just less fun.

And about the DC pad…Sure I was great on it when Marvel 1 and 2 were only on Dreamcast, but after the Capcom games came out on PS2, I had no use for the DC controller, and now having to use one is a huge annoyance, just like at SB2. You’ll notice that I’ve been avoiding Marvel for a while…its for the same reasons.

Lastly, I remember there being only one converter last time. Like I said, I’m sitting out anything on DC for tourney and mm’s.

Josh, also bring me a Marvel 1 for DC. I want one with original sountrack. You said you had it… :wink: You bitch.

Yeah, I was wondering what the text said underneath the Ryu & Irene. That’s awesome Deryck! I think the best lines in the old Ninja Gaiden games were the ones where Ryu was puzzled or shocked by something that just happened & didn’t say anything @ all, such as “…” or “…” Now u know Ryu was having a WTF moment & saying “What The Fuck” or “What In The Fuck” when those lines came up during the story parts. :lol: Here’s the Perfect example:

Lol I cant believe you went and searched that up. I thought i was the only one who knew all of the Ninja Gaiden stuff, but still the best one i ever found is were Ryu’s eyes looked crossed and he is not saying anything but,d @*#& *@ It is hilarious cause his eyes are all messed up.

Hey jbeene, you still got that semi-working SFAC with ya? You know the one… where it wants to stick to up at times? Bring that thing down with ya. Might come in handy in a pinch. At least the PS2 port on that one works. Mine still won’t get recognized. Thinking I’m stuck with a piece of junk X-Arcade unless I can get it modded within the week with a PS1 PCB…

Sluch: Oh come on, man. At that point, it’s not even close to ST. Make up your mind. If we’re gonna be doin’ AE, we’ll do AE. If it’s arcade-style ST, that’s good too. If we’re doin’ AE limited to SuperT and Start-Super styles, I’m withdrawing. Not gonna let my main be assraped by the format.

Deryck, this is how much of a dork I am. I didn’t look that scene up from Ninja Gaiden, that’s based on memory from playing the game so much. It might not be word from word, but it’s damn close from what I can recollect. I might have 2 bust out my NES & put Ninja Gaiden in 2 get some more classic lines from the game. :lol:

Alright… The ST issue: Tournament is gonna be on PS2. That’s what it says in the 1st post of this thread. I don’t know why ppl are saying 2 the have it on anything else for the tournament. Casuals & MMs for ST can be on whatever u want it 2 be, that doesn’t matter, but the tournament itself will be on the PS2 & the disk it is played on is the AE collection disk. As far as format is concerned, we do everything to EVO Standards (as stated in the 1st post as well). As far as what that comprises, I’m gonna be honest & tell ya guys I’m not sure what it is as of this moment (after all, I only play Tekken, so I don’t know these things), but I’m gonna look the actual rules up as soon as I can & post that up immediately as 2 end all of this debate w/ ST.

My main issue is that we don’t want this thing turning into Super Smash Turbo: Melee and banning shit left and right (No items! No Sheik! Final Destination!).

The only other option is one that nobody really wants to consider: CCC2. While it might be pure ST, we all know there’s tons of other problems with this version.

Edit: Fuck it. Change my ST entry to CvS2. Probably gonna get raped for free in that game, but at least I’ll have something worth playing where the details are already set and unchanging.

if i’m driving 1 1/2 hours to play ST or AE, there will be the normal set rules. No Akuma, Turbo 3, that’s all. If there is any other changes to the normal gameplay I will not be happy. Josh knows how the ST rules go, I don’t understand why people who don’t know the game are getting involved trying to make this shit complicated. I come to these events to solely play that game (yes, noone plays it anymore) and I want it to be the same way its been for 15 years. Thanks. Don’t fix what isnt’ broken.
