Competed in a tourney in Daytona Orlando this past weekend. Got 4th in it.

I felt like the 2nd round was such BS. I think I was playing too smart. Was trying to get zero in blockstun by doing TK overdrive H so that I could just chip out w/ Phoenix Inferno but I guess I got hit out of the startup animation of the move /:

Nice video! I guess I should still see stuff like this to pick up pointers for my dear Jean. This has given me hope about her. Though probably because the other guy did not use any anti-Phoenix tech, but still, very glad to see.

I agree. The ones that I actually didn’t know where the Phoenix ones, which should be the ones coming more in handy. They also look flashy as hell.
BTW, I still have problems using TK Shot to OTG opponents, any suggestions?
I went to Shadowloo Showdown last weekend (I came from New Zealand). I main Viscant’s old team (Wesker/Haggar/Phoenix) and played it in all my important matches. I got some money matches in with the other international players who went over and outside of all the fails, I don’t think I did too bad. Just finished playing in a tourney here in Orlando. Played really well the whole tournament up until Master CJ. Man idk what it was but I was playing really really bad against him. I think it was all the online play I’ve been doing these past 2 weeks because I developed such bad habits especially w/ me getting happy bdayed each round -__-. Well check it out. But yeah it was really bad lol.

Thanks haha. Yeah I was bored in training mode while watching the ECT stream (my internet was really up and down so I went inside while watching the stream). It’s something I want to try and get and this is something I would probably only do on characters that aren’t named vergil, strider, and nova lol. If I play on stream during CEO I want to try and get this down. Plus I like styling when I play if I can (especially if I have the execution to get it down :P)
Edit: Maybe I should name it the “Too Hot for You” loop lol.
Winners match of my pool in UMvC3 at CEO2012. I really shouldn’t have lost to that guy. I just hate how like the reason why I lost was due to bs reasons such as input leniacy I feel like in my opinion.(Still alittle salty lol) But yeah video starts at 38mins. I can’t believe he came back 3 games to me. The 3rd game when I xfactored somehow a bar was wasted which F’ed me up. Also the 2nd to last game when he did a random chaotic flame in my face and i tried to do phoenix inferno it gave me healing field /: I hate when that happens and the chance of that happening is so low that when it happens in an actual tourney and not in casuals or online it’s so disheartening lol.
Bad luck on that loss man. I like the fact that you know alot of tech with your team which is out there, but alot of players just don’t use it. Like the ammy glaive tac resets. In the first game you lost, dunno how you wasted a meter, but off that air back throw you should have xfactored and killed doom (my combo I use is l.teleport, x factor (to cancel the teleport recovery), tk l.fireball, dash S, etc. And then the next game since he had xfactor left, it doesn’t matter what super you did because he woulda just x-factored your phoenix rage and blocked it then punished with another chaotic flame. You played well though.
Thanks alot for the advice man. And man now that you mention it i feel so stupid. That’s the only thing with phoenix that I haven’t practiced because I’ve never really been able to use that in any situation. I mostly practice online but I go to alot of tourneys in florida but a situation like that has never really come up before and something like that w/ the online infrastructure of marvel would be hard to pull off. And yeah I just tried this out in training mode and wow that would have definetly helped if I knew how to do that before the tourney started /:

But yeah this has been my team since day 1 vanilla and i still love and still try and come up w/ some new tech for the team.
