I’m having a lot of trouble landing any move after a Samurai edge OTG. I always end up canceling into teleport, which ruins the combo. Is there a specific timing for this?
If you’re teleporting, you’re hitting the button way too fast. Since his f.H and his df.H have immediate teleport followups, you have to delay a bit before you do the cr.M so the attack comes out instead.
this isn’t a question about playing wesker, but playing against him.
how do you consistently block his phantom dance hyper? i keep getting randomly crossed up and it’s frustrating me.
1)Does anyone have any tips for fighting Viewtiful Joe? It feels like none of Wesker’s moves can punish Joe…fighting him on Training with the CPU set to Very Hard is driving me nuts.
2)Same goes for Dante…it feels impossible to counterattack anything Dante throws at me (Very Hard CPU)
3)Can Wesker get past Sentinel Spam w/Doom Hidden Missiles effectively? My Assists get jacked if I attempt to bring them out, and my teleports just get me booted by Sentinel as soon as I get in close. A strategy w/o using assists would be helpful too. And Wesker’s Super Jump+Kicks just seem to lack priority.
Computers cheat, don’t use them to judge a match up on.
He didn’t do 2 cr.Ls. He did cr.M, cr.H.

I guess its not super important because i know on most characters u can substitute with c.M but…it’s there any way.
Oh and on my 3rd question i pretty much got it figured out. Basically Wesker can easily travel the entire screen length after cobra strike by doing a regular dash forward then a little more than halfway into the dash just do a wave dash (df+any 2 attack buttons) and mash on sam edge low. When I was first trying to do this I tried to wave dash early in the dash and it wouldn’t always input right but i found waiting helps. This is part of how buktooth can land those juggles so nicely after the teleport. The dash to wave dash makes it so u can teleport after the ghost butterfly OTG combo so u are right next to them as u come down from the teleport and makes it easier to land s.M or c.L to s.M to S.
Bingo. To make it easier on myself I usually do :atk::atk: xx :df:(hold until gun) xx :atk::atk: xx :h:. Even if you cut off the max distance of your first dash, the second dash > OTG Gun > :d: will land. :d:

When I do it it seems like Wesker is sliding into position before he actually fires his gun. I would check in training mode but it’s 830am right now and I need a cigarette and a bowl of cereal first.
EDIT: The current last post in the Wesker 2.0 thread says it’s a gun cancel as well since he also states that Wesker slides into position to fire his gun. So I’m changing the notation.

The biggest hints are the hitsparks
The only thing i’ve found that works is to punish it with a counter special or stay in the corner. I’m trying to find a way to prevent it mixing up 100%.
My team is Wesker/Ryu/Sent
I have hard time getting in on MODOK with Wesker. I am thinking about using the hard attack counter to stop his projectile. other than that I have no clue what to do. I try to tele but it’s not far enough to get in and his barrier shield keeps me out. Any advice would be helpful. I have gotten in on MODOK before but never with Wesker.
I think I know what he’s doing now. He’s actually doing c.M, c.L to S.
no it’s crouching H. Look at the hit spark, its huge. cr.L creates is little baby version of that.
wasn’t really sure where to post this since it involves wesker and magneto but figured id go here. so i believe using weskers samurai edge assist you can do a relatively quick unblockable setup by calling the assist then with magneto flying and immediately pressing S to cancel fly. The attacks look like they both hit at the same time but when setting the training dummy to all block it blocks both hits. Im wondering if any of you know whether its possible to test unblockable setups in training mode and any other good unblockable setups using this wesker assist.
Hmmm yeah I just realized now that he’s been using c.H the whole time to set up the juggle after H phanton dance. Though I still dont get how u connect two c.H’s on Sent? I even tried that and couldn’t do it for shit.

I sometimes see people hitting down + M after a low-shot otg into a launcher but i can never get the down + M to hit
afaik it can only really be done after a L.Palmstrike
How do u guys aproach with wesker
I use projectile assists as cover and approach with his teleports. I also occasionally throw in Samurai Edge into a teleport and try to catch them off guard. Just don’t be predictable. Key part of his gameplay is to keep your opponent unsure of where you’re gonna go, confuse them, and make them unsure which way they have to defend.
