I have some questions about Wesker’s assists, insofar as they relate to a specific team I’m working on. The roster is below:
Slot 1: Haggar (Lariat) Slot 2: Wesker (???, see questions below) Slot 3: Amaterasu (Cold Star) or Arthur/Chris/etc.; any general ‘projectile fire support’ character who can cover Haggar’s approach.
What I’m wondering is this: What Wesker assist is good with this team? I cannot seem to find any good combos for Haggar that integrate Wesker’s OTG Samurai Edge, and am wondering if I am missing something there. What value can his other two assists offer Haggar?
If it matters, Haggar is on my team as my main fighter, and Wesker is there for his teleports so he can switch in to chase down Sentinel and the like. Amaterasu is there to fill general gaps these two characters have (neither can provide fire support, for example). Any good input on how to work Wesker into this team, and what assists offer what benefits for Haggar, would be much appreciated.
well weskers otg assist hits low so u can call it in then jump in attack to create an unblockable or near unblockable situation. haven’t used his other assists so idk anything else
I run Strider/Doom/Trish…I mean Wesker/Doom/Trish.
I like to do Doom’s Plasma assist, L or H Phantom Move, M, E, air combo, etc. It’s a nice little trick but i dont throw out a teleport all the time. At first I thought projectiles can hit you from behind but you just need to block away from Wesker after he teleports to the other side. Most of the time I get my brother with that combo.
My question is, can you follow up with anything after […], E, M, M, H, E, land, dash, OTG gun?
I can’t even cr.M. I haven’t gone to training mode yet. I just play against my brother and couldn’t nail anything after the OTG gun during a fight.
Having trouble using and implementing Wesker’s Kara Grab. Any advice?
I’m having a lot of trouble comboing off of Mustang Kick (:l:)? I can get the gun to hit but after that it’s hard for me to get a follow up. It seems like I have to double tap :l: to port and after that I’m too late to get a follow up :d:
i know some of you managed to do his mission 9 so please any advice on the timing? i tried the first part
(cM,cH, cobra x-factor, cM,cH, cobra) on it’s own and i not once connected, i just can’t seem to pull it off, and the second where you otg and call partner 2…i can get it down but after the launch i can only connect 2 mediums and the hard whiffs any specific timing on that one too?
i did all others for wesker only this one bugs me the f out
After teleporting in during Ammy’s cold stone assist, it doesn’t seem like Wesker does much damage doing BnB into air combo phantom dance. Is there something screwy with the damage scaling on this, or am i doing something wrong?
Phantom Dance is generally a waste of meter in combos. You pretty much never get full dmg unless dead center of the stage, even then I’m not sure. Better to save the meter.
Well, that was the weird thing. Even doing it midscreen, it’d do less than the same basic magic series BnB combo without the Cold Stone assist in training mode. It’s like it was doing chip damage even on hit.
Ok, Ive tried not looking for help on this, but im just running out of patience. I cant do mission 8 with him. The pure concept of it is mind boggling to me. Yes ive seen people do it, but I cant wrap my mind around it. Can anyone help?
What I did for that mission was call A1 while doing the combo. So basically cr.L, A1, cr.M etc… It might also be possible with cr.L+A1 but I don’t know about the timing. cr.L, A1, cr.M worked better for my timing. Do make sure to keep the rhythm of the initial combo going while pressing A1.
From what I’ve found the easiest peasiest set up is the xfactor cancel. c.L,M,H, cobra strike(qcf+L), dash up samurai edge low(df+H), KFC, mash super. Though that requires u to blow xfactor first.
Easiest non KFC set up ive found is using assist. If you have a solid front assist that can juggle after samurai edge like chun li legs u just mash on assist after the above combo and free no KFC level 3 setup.
For your first question remember that wesker’s dash is cancellable into any attack during any frame. You dont have to dash forward and wait till the dash animation ends before doing sam edge low. You can cancel it as soon as u get close enough with the dash where the shot and the c.M bnb afterwards will fully connect. You have to learn this technique in order to sam edge low (df/3+H) Sentinel because after cobra strike he lands ridiculously far away from you compared to other characters. Mainly due to his property have having further pushback on hit than most characters. Basically against Sent you combo into cobra strike (qcf+L) after bnb then dash forward then quickly dash again and cancel just a bit after u start dashing into sam edge low then bnb as usual.
I’ve never seen anyone use that move yet. It looks like it can set up juggles or whatever but doesn’t look crazy useful either.
Read question 3 below and i think it should help u out. You’re pretty much better off doing what buk does in that vid instead.

I was figuring at some point i would just read through the original thread to see if i can find anything but if things get answered faster here that’d be cool.
Generally what is the timing for landing j.H low enough after ghost butterfly to H phantom move (teleport) so that u can land j.H low enough to do s.S or c.L, s.S like buk? Is it more about when u do the teleport or is it more just when u hit j.H after the teleport. I can’t really seem to find a way to consistently land j.H low enough like buk does in the vids. He lands it so low he can even land c.L first. Which i think is a nice hit confirm since c.L im sure starts up faster than s.S.
At around 28:33 in this video ( http://www.justin.tv/teamkhaos/b/279725133 ) buk does a corner combo against Sent where he does the normal bnb series before ghost butterfly but after ghost butterfly he is able to land 2 c.L’s then land s.S for a juggle into team crossover. The second c.L auto corrects Wesker and allows for the set up. I tried doing this in training but i can only land one c.L. The second c.L always whiffs. Some less inportant strange stuff about this combo also is that u can’t juggle anything until after wesker auto corrects. Like from a distance i tried just mashing on ghost butterfly Sent will fall in front of u and u can do one c.L to s.S to juggle and keep him in the corner. Though if u do the bnb exactly like in the vid for whatever reason u must land c.Ls or u can’t juggle. Its almost as if the game just puts Sent in a reset state unless u hit him again.
In the same video around 1:07:40 you’ll see zero come after about 10 seconds or so and he hits zero with a doom beam assist LP teleport hit confirm bnb while airborne to cobra strike. The cobra strike pushes zero really far away like to the point where you’d have to do double dash and and cancel to sam edge low. Though it looks like what he did was dash cancelled into wave dash early in the first dash then cancelled the second dash into sam edge low to allow him to cover 2 dashes worth of distance at almost the speed of one regular dash. Is it basically just a wave dash cancel then sam edge cancel?
Well on # 3 i guess i answered my own question unless im wrong but yeah.
