Actually at the last tourney, I overhead Zo-Zo mention to other customers that it would be only $5 to watch.
As for this 3K and 3P issue, it should NOT be banned imo. Pad players need all the help they can get :\

any changes on side tourney now that we know the AH2 ps2 port is crap
I agree, all the turbos and macros in the world won’t save them imo.
No offense guys, I hate pad.
Btw, Ksharpie and Cainne… do you guys happen to go to Mohawk college?
AH2 is now replaced by rose ball.
As much as I’d like to defend AH2… I don’t think I can do that right now. Today we realized it’s a port of AH2.5, not AH2.6. :looney:
We’re gonna try playing it tonight and see if it’s at least fun for 2 players (without laggy characters). Still, compared to what it could have been, this port is a disgrace. =P
Edit: AH2 postponed to tomorrow due to 3s.
First off, welcome to the forums. You should drop a line in the introduction thread and post up in the PSN/X-BOX Gamertag thread if you use PSN/Live.
POWNZ uses various screens but SFIV will be played on 2 x 42" LCD’s
I’m deliberating on whether I jumped on the gun on the 3P/3K issue. I personally don’t like the idea of having Ultra or Super mapped to one button while stick players have the possibility of blowing it. I’ll render a decision after I get input from a few other console directors on the subject.
There are no banned characters at the present time.
there’re only two reasons for messing up an ultra on a stick
Does the shop have a website?
and can i expect anyone from SRK to be there around oh i dunno… 11:30 am - 1 pm today?
JEd i left you a private messege regarding me and cainne, incase you dont use your user CP,
Oh wow, the AH2 PS2 port is FUN! :bgrin:
The slowdown takes some time to get used to, but afterwards it’s not a problem at all. In fact, it made my combos easier! :razzy:
We messed around with Petra a bit, just for laughs. I don’t know how much the lag would affect you if you tried to play seriously with or against her. We didn’t try Maori at all.
Nazuna and Catherine caused more slowdown than the rest of the cast, as did the Love Arcana. But we just accepted it as a part of the game and, for me at least, it didn’t cause any mistakes.
Sucks that the game isn’t version 2.6 (it’s mostly 2.5 with some other version stuff mixed in :annoy:), which means Akane is going to be overpowered once people start learning her. But until she’s more of a nuisance than Sagat, I’m gonna keep playing anyway.
Will not be attending. Might be time for me to retire for good but that’s just more of those famous last words.
Hope everyone has a blast!
Now that I think about it, at least PS2 AH2 doesn’t have input lag, unlike playing online.
Personally, I abhor input lag. The thought of everything happening x frames after I press a button (where x is noticeably large) irritates me to no end. In addition, you get less time to react to stuff like overheads and hit-confirms.
Slowdown… well it makes the game slower, which sucks, but at least reaction time gets easier and not harder, so it’s not game-breaking. And even though you have to change your timing for combos, (a) you have extra time to think about it, (b) you have larger windows for links, and © you can acutally see how slow the game is running.
In the end, it’s going to come down to personal preference and if people hate slowdown as much as I hate input lag, then I can understand that. But if you were interested in the console port before, then imo you should give it a shot against some human opponents and see if it’s worth playing or not.
That’s what I did, and while it’s not uber-awesome arcade-perfect AH2.6, and the slowdown does drain some of the fun, I still enjoyed it and I’d still enter a tournament for it.
You can put me in for all 3 please. I was gonna say HD Remix and 4 only but since AH2 is free what the heck why not.
Since AH2 is a bust, how about some sort of Team Tournament for SF4? 3 man teams?
If the pre-reg is any indication we may not even get a tournament at all at this rate.
It might be the Bleecker effect :3
U need 16 pre-reg? I’d still be in for 12-person tourney… Either way, I want to play in a SF4 tourney (not caring about prize pooling, its more the passion of playing tourney style and getting some good games in).
I’d be willing to come but a ride is my only problem.
