So what’s SRK’s opinion of the new ork dex?
As a lover of the greenskins I find overall the new book to be great though the lack of anything over 36 inches in range (other than the shokk attack gun) hurts, as does the death of looted vehicles
it’s good stuff overall though, and I’ve been running a shooty ork list or awhile so the change isn’t too drastic
Plus Speed Freak type lists are gonna be awesome
I havent checked out the Latest in Codex’s but i know i gotta get my friend either a squad of Wraiths so if anyone has ideas they can use for purchasing them at a pretty low cost let me know.

eBay and bartertown are your best bets
I have a buddy who has a thing for the orkz. The new codex makes hoards of orks very possible since they are cheap. The hoard of shooty orkz with rokkits & the mandatory nob w/ Da Powa Klaw is going to be a good list. Now add in the mekk boy with the custom force field so that your orkz get a better save and it’s awesome plus add some of the following lootas (great 36" fire support), stormboyz & nob w/ Power Klaw (cheap boyz with great movement). Now that is going to be a strong list.
The Kult Of Speed is possible in the new ork codex since the boyz are allowed to ride in a trukk which has special rules to boot. Plus the warboss on a bike is cool. There are many fun things you can do with this list. Besides the lack of 36"+ weapons, the codex is better than the previous by a longshot. I think that this new codex is going to make the Green Machine a very powerful army.
@ Mr. Blank - Your friend sounds as if he is playing necrons. What units does he have? Let me know and maybe I can help you and your friend about what is good for the army. And also great avatar, INO is my favorite character in GGXX.
He has a complete starter army i believe, guardian squads, Eldar Farseer, couple Deathreapers. he just wanted me to buy him some wraithlords for mix and match purposes. he painted my entire Chaos army which is posted in one of these previous pages. so i owe it to him.
Ah Wraithlords, Playing eldar, very nice. What kind of games do you play with your friend. There are fun lists and then there are the competative lists.
For fun lists, my friends field pathfinders, guardian squads, shining spears, vipers, Wraith Lords, warp spiders, harlequins(not in the falcons), falcon (1-2 for anti-tank purposes), Plus Eldred the special character for eldar is a great HQ to field and in competitive lists is a mandatory choice, he is that good.
For competitive lists, he would want to build the eldar airforce lists. But let me warn you the fun lists are better to play friends and can be the most fun, competitive lists should only be used in tournaments or against another competitive list or it’s not going to be fun to play.
Im trying to find some carrying cases for my chaos army. it needs to be able to fit my rhino tank and a 500 - 1000 point army and not cost a bajillion bucks.
me and my buddy just plan on playing casual speed and story mode games aka campaign…
Well best cheap option I’ve found is a shoebox plus the individual foam trays from actualy cases (roughly 8 a piece) as your playing chaos you can probably get away with 3 trays (probably 2) then fit the rhino in the side/on top

I’m a 40K table-top player myself. I use Eldar, usually against my friends, we don’t come up with specialized lists. We devise lists in secret then pit them against eachother. It makes you give careful thought to trying to balance out your army.
Then again my friends 90% of the time use Space Wolves or Battle Sisters which can be hard for my Eldar army to take down, especially since I have no Wraithguard or D-Cannons.
Now I go up against Tau, Tyranids I beat them hard. Also in low point tourneys (1000 or less) Necrons are a giveaway. Tau get owned hard by Striking Scorpions, who all get 4 attacks on the charge and strike first. If they roll with an Autarch w/Power Weapon and Mandiblasters that’s 6 power weapon attacks on top of that,
I phased them out in 3 out of 3 tourney matches in less than a 1000 points. Of course 1 was a dumb-ass who brought a 360 point freekin’ Nightbringer meaning I just needed to kill like 16 warriors.
Yeah the carrying cases from Games Workshop are decent but expensive. The small one is ok but the large on is very expensive. (I know because I bought their huge $90 army case for Warhammer Fantasy). The alternatives that I’ve seen are the following from my friends & myself:

Buy these plastic jewelry box containers which can be found at any art supply store (you don?t have to use the one in the link, it?s just for visual purposes). Just buy some cotton or foam sheets (also at art supply stores) then put your chaos models in the jewelry box then use the cotton/foam to cover your models to protect it during transportation. This is good for your regular infantry models that fit into the jewelry case. Then put the jewelry boxes into a bag/carrying bag/gym bag/etc. for easy transportation. Depending on how many jewelry boxes and what kinds, it can start to add up but can carry more models than the GW case.

Army Transport (Cost $50-60 plus shipping, sometimes I can find it on ebay, there are other similar ones but I?ve found this to work very well) ? These work very well. The foam trays are customizable. It has Two - 2.5? foam trays which can hold predators, rhinos, dreadnaughts, vehicles ( I fit 3 rhinos in one tray) the Six ? 1? trays are great for the infantry models ( I can may 3 rows of about 8 space marine models depending on the poses of the models). Plus it has pouches to hold 2 codexes and a container of dice & measuring tape.

Fishing tackle box/ large tool box (price ? Varies) ? Well my one friend uses this and I?ve tried it before looking for a cheap alternative. You have to place a lot of cotton and it?s going to be hard to customize the individual trays. During transportation, it will be tumbling around in your tool box/fishing tackle box, so unless it?s old plastic models I wouldn?t recommend it. My friend broke a few models using this method.

Pistol Cases (cost $14+ & shipping) ? These work very well for individual models and you can cut the foam and fit a lot of different vehicles in there since it is big enough. If you are going put vehicles in there, I suggest you buy a sheet of foam from an art supply store then cut it then fit it at the bottom of the case to provide a soft cushion for your models. I have a few of these and my friend has a bunch for his vehicles and individual models. I use it to hold my grey knight terminators, Grey Knight models, and other models with funky poses that won?t fit into the army transport case that I have.

“Ghetto Transport” - Get 2 small(or whatever sized) cardboard box. Cut up the first box to make individual sections in the other box with tape. Then line the bottom of the box and the walls with foam. This is a cheap and good way to transport your vehicles and larger models since you can make the individual sections whatever size you want and then put foam around it. This is what my friend uses to carry his monolyth for his necrons and also his land speeders, dreads, and pred for his space marines.
That is really cool that they have Saint Celestine. I’m guessing she is going to be playable the same way the Nightbringer is playable for the necrons. I can’t wait for the Sisters of Battle, I wonder if they are going to do anything with the faith system? Plus my one friend will be happy about the Dark Eldar.
Nice Man. I cant wait till the new Soulstorm expansion. I just wanna take over another planet and i pray to the Emperor to let us take over another planet with even more battle gears.
Damn, how I hate WAR getting pushed back yet again, with me starting college next year, don’t have any spare money around for the TT, so hoping for WAR to be my cheap warhammer fix whenever it comes out >_>(if I could atleast get into the beta, jeez)
