Goddamn governor, I kept waiting until the momenth e did something bad I was like “He’s toooo nice, what makes him a bad guy? Where’s his bad side?” then boom killing all the soldiers. I was wondering how he’s goign to interact with Rick, and it looks like Governor will be a foil to build Rick as a juxtaposing between Rick and the Governor, with the Governor being a representation of what Rick may become if he keeps going on this cold, Type-IV Anti-Hero path. with Governor being Type V Anti Hero (Borderline Villain) or even anti-Villain
Personally if I was in his position, I would have tried to coerce them and recruit them into his army

-The soldiers had nowhere to go, and he just saved their man plus if he was able to convince Andrea he could probably convince a group of stranded soldiers with no purpose or anywhere to go.

The soldiers were better trained and extremely dangerous and were a legitimate threat to his regime.Folks would start asking questions about is there an outside world.Its more than likely that more soldier outpost exist and larger populations exist .If a few dozen soliders in Georgia can survive for the most part withot incident then its possible even more can . He had to kill them to maintain power and his ego.Some guy called the governor vs real soldiers with real ranks as authority figures.

Was anyone else shocked that it’s been 7-8 months? I assumed it’s been 2-3 weeks since the farm incident, But that assumption is mostly based on the fact that the prison was in the background of the season 2 finale.
Yeah Merle is clearly just sucking it up so he can survive imo. There would most definitely of been some sort of unrest if a bunch of soldiers turned up in the settlement. They wouldn’t let the Guv’nor just run shit like that.
