The Walking Dead - A New Series from AMC

It’s not like riot gear isn’t without vulnerable spots, I’d imagine. There’s probably enough room to get some bites in if they’re pinned down by zombies.

There are no intruded points on their riot gear as well.

bitten before they got the gear on.

getting bitten could be what prompted them to put the gear on in the first place.

Because the zombies would tackle them and just lay on them for weeks without biting them.

Shaft’s theory is pretty good, but would the prison get THAT overrun before the guards were suited up? They couldn’t have all been bitten. Someone had to have died in the infirmary and turned and it started from there. But it’s not like a prison infirmary is THAT crowded.

I guess there was the truck at the front and the gate was open. I have so many prison questions.

What if the guards who weren’t bitten just left? They would have had access to the outside world and when they heard it was going to hell they just got out of there and left the prisoners to die. 90% of the zombies are inmates so the few guards may have been bitten early.

The second episode was fantastic with shit happening and all that but there’s one thing I have to say. I feel one of the prisoners is missing something and I think at least some of the fans of the comic agree with me.

You follow me?

My theory is that there was obviously a big prison riot when they got news that the world was going to shit and that’s when most of the prisoners died. Things got a lot worse when those dead prisoners reanimated. Chaos ensues (even more) and prisoners probably continued killing in greater numbers because convicts aren’t exactly the calm and orderly types during a crisis.
As for the riot police dying: Riot gear won’t protect you from getting your neck snapped or throat slashed or stabbed between the ribs or in any other of the weak points, strangulation, etc which is why I think most if not all the riot guards were killed by (living) prisoners.

I don’t know why people are having a hard time with this.

Although to be fair that’s probably the best armor to wear in a zombie apocalypse, maybe except like a Suit of armor or a bomb disoposal armor.

Bomb disposal is too slow. They practically waddle to get around. If you are trying to defend a spot it would probably be good but if you fall over, ooooooo both.

does it really matter how the riot guards turned? I think this show requires some suspension of disbelief regarding minor details, like the fact that everyone constantly is either clean shaven or rockin a 5oclock shadown with perfectly trimmed hair. I look more haggard on a regular day than most the people on this show.

Or how a 13 year old boy with a couple of months of gun training could land consecutive clean headshots from 30 yards out with a 9mm pistol.

Or how Daryl’s arrows don’t wear after constantly going through human flesh and bone.

He sharpens them by glaring at them

Is that why Carrie’s elbows and shoulders look so sharp?

That might be malnutrition, but the jury’s still out

He does take care of his arrows. I mean if you remember in season 2 he started making more arrows from scratch. Since then he probably stopped by a sporting guns store and picked up a bunch.

I’d imagine Zombie flesh is a lot softer than living tissue as well.

even if you can rationalize away some of those minor inconsistencies, I doubt the durability of Daryl’s arrows has ever registered as a concern for the writing staff. you just ignore it because actually addressing this shit in the show would be boring

Explain further. :coffee:

there are far more interesting things to focus on besides watchign some guy take care of arrows for 2-3 min.

I just thought it was fun to think about. It ruins nothing. I would actually be more interested in seeing the prison fall apart than see people encounter the remains of the prison.

They never show the actual outbreak in a zombie movie and it’s always a tease. That is why the little webisodes were so fun.
