I love not being “hardcore” anymore. Saving $ and seeing if the 360 version will get me to buy a 360.
Can’t wait for both to be out to weigh my options.
ANYONE trying ot hate on the PS3 versions graphics are straight up retarded.

Noone was hating on the graphics. All three articles said the 360 version had slightly improved anti-aliasing (less jaggies), that’s all. Fanboys need to chill.
I played the game at Gamestop on PS3 on a Sony Bravia and it looked georgous. I couldn’t imagine it looking much better.
X360 VF5 ver C. with Online play
This is an unconfirmed rumor.
Sega will announce soon (at E3) that the Xbox 360 version of VF5 will be based on the ver. C release and will have online play. :wow:
Fact: Sega released VF5 on the PS3 in February this year based on arcade ver. B with no online functions at all.
Arcade Ver. C has been released under a months time from now.
Who said the 360 stick was going to be worse then the ps3 stick???
I saw the same thing on another site. Would be so sweet if this is true.
I’m hoping for a Pelican-like converter for the 360. Lord knows that I don’t want to buy a stick for a system that I don’t even own/want, and for one game.
Word.
I went with the PS3 version because of the stick support. I hate the 360 D-Pad for fighters and I really don’t want to buy another stick. Especially paying $60-70 for a system that has less than 1% of my total fighting game collection.
I finally got over wanting VF5 360 online so badly. If it’s true it’s great news for 360 owners who wanted online play. Maybe it’ll encourage new players to pick up the game and mess around online. Who knows.
I hope Sega has some sort of download/update for the PS3 VF5 to make it Ver. C
I would be very surprised if VF5 for the PS3 doesn’t get a patch to upgrade it to version C.
And I really wanted to buy a 360 for a while now. VF5 coming out for the 360 just sold me on the system. I wll use the stick for both VF5 and ST:HD unless there is some sort of PS2/PS3 -> converter.
All that is confirmed about the stick is that it’s a hori. Saying it’s going to be the DOA4 stick with different art, or that it will have full-sanwa parts, is pure speculation.
I would rather mod a Hori (which is usually easy) than use a PS2/3 converter and risk lag. There is one converter currently, called the XFPS or something, but it’s expensive and the peripheral support on it is random (meaning your PS2 stick may or may not work with it).
That settles it for me; Xbox 360 it is.
Can you give us a source?
The pelican. I bought one so that my friends could play VF5 with me and one brought his Tekken 5 PS2 stick and it played flawless. As long as the game supports d-pad all sticks should work just fine with the converter.
and when this happens I’m selling my copy of VF5. To think I ever supported such a shady company is beyond me.
its not that big of a deal
So it’s not that big of a deal when I can only play with 2 people on occasion and 360 owners get to play with thousands at any time? But yet I bought it for full price, before any of those 360 guys did and we got less features?
Rule #1 about Sega: They don’t care about you.
Rule #2 about Sega: They USUALLY do not care about console.
Rule #3 about Sega: If you do not live in Japan and play arcade refer to rule #1 and rule #2
Something in my gut told me Sega might pull this crap with the 360 release (which is why I didn’t get a PS3 or VF5 for PS3). Honestly I don’t know why Sega even released on PS3 to begin with considering how Sony screwed Sega really bad with the VF4:EVO release.
If online play comes, yipee, scrubs can post a lot of crap about how amazing they are online till they show (if ever) and get owned. DoA Community all over again.
I have no love for Sony or Microsoft, I got a 360 originally for DoA4 before I found out it sucked balls. I learned my lesson from that and choose not to but a PS3 just for VF5 and simply travel to other peoples houses to play the game.
Whoops. I know about the PS2->PS3 converter. I meant to say PS2/PS3->360.
yawn
When you get a bit older and your career and family come into shape, you’ll realize that traveling to your friends’ house for sleepovers isn’t as feasible as it once was.
I’m not saying you’re wrong on all points or completely. But to me from this post, you seem like a bitter ex-DoAer use to DoACentral’s mentality. Brought it over to VFDC, read into all the propaganda and bought stock in it.
Sega cares very much about their consoles, I feel. I mean to me, they’re the only company who gets their games so close to arcade “perfect” every-time. I agree with some stuff though. It is shady simple things weren’t placed in the PS3 version, but I am glad I got it soon as seemingly possible as we did. That’s the price I guess we eat for getting it so close to arcade release.
I actually agree with you. Every console port I’ve ever bought from them were just that. Ports. No special features or anything. Just a port. Refer to VF3TB. Port. Then look at Tekken 4 and 5. Special features up the ass. Even more so with Soul Calibur series.
Rule #1 is exactly why they have such a poor following for every series they do. Rule #3 is exactly why most people don’t even know about sega anymore. If you offered them a choice of a sport game consisting of a Sega game or an EA game, they would go with an EA game 99% of the time.
yeah that’s great, I work 40 hours, I do a martial art on the side, and I have friends I hang out with in addition to family matters, I don’t see how that screws up going to some other dudes house to play some VF.
What is the point of buying a PS3 and VF5? There is no one locally around me that I can have come to my house. I am I gonna play the computer for 5 hours? What a waste of time, people who play only the CPU are worse than online players.
Lemme see, I drive 20 minutes to play the dude who throws parties in socal. He has a PS3, VF5, and 2 Virtua High Grade Sticks raring to go. I don’t spend anytime playing it at home. Only one day of the week.
You will never get very good at VF period if all you do is play CPU all day, especially in VF5 where the CPU is no where near VF4EVO’s level. You need to play people at the game. For that I need to GASP travel around.
And it isn’t even a matter of “Oh you are just lucky to live in SoCal”. Uhh no it’s a matter of I’m dedicated enough to understand you need to travel to get better. I also drive 40-50 minutes to LA to play saturday gatherings and just recently drove more than an hour and a half to play in SD.
KrisJin: They reason the game is arcade perfect is IMO so pros in Japan who have the money can practice and test around at home.
Sega is known to lose money most of the time from their console division. Sammy originally wanted to scrap the consoel division when they merged but decided not to. I don’t believe Sega always didn’t care about console, as VF4EVO was like the best console FG ever made to me. But you have got to be crazy to think VF5 was an amazing job outside of being arcade perfect.
