The VF5 Thread: The future IS now. RIGHT NOW

Oh well, I have two questions:

-Is it true that the AI in the game is dumb? I heard it hardly attacks :(. What difficulty do you recomment setting the game at.

-What about the low tiers? Do they get anally violated?

I think the A.I. is a step down from the last game. As normal, with VF, the low tiers don’t suffer like they would in Marvel or 3s. The game isn’t perfectly balanced but it’s getting close (thanks to revisions like version C) and beats the hell out of almost any alternative.

VF1’s a great game, but it won’t do much for your VF5 game aside from getting you comfortable with the roles of mid attacks, low attacks, and interrupting people with high or low punch. And getting used to the Guard button.

Otherwise, the feel and timing are very different on things. Throws are completely different, and it’s tough to do some of the elite combos (gotta love that Lau can ringout from almost anywhere with the UpKnife–heck, he can kill you with a certain tough to do combo).

Sorry about your PS2 man.

il’m planning on investing on a ps3 for virtue fighter 5.
i was wondering if you can use the tekken 5 stick for the ps2 for VF5 on the ps3.
is this possible?

i believe you can if you use the Pelican PS2 to PS3 converter

Is your PS2 completely dead or just “Disc Read Error”? The original VF4 (not Evolution) is a blue PS2 disc, which your PS2 should still be able to read even if it gets “Disc Read Error” with silver PS2 discs.

If you really have no access to any other VF games, than VF1 is better than nothing.

They are not as balanced as VF4:Evolution. But if you know how to play as your char, you won’t be at that much of a disadvantage with low-tier vs high-tier.

If you have an Xbox360, you should just wait for the 360 version of the game. Unless Sega makes the PS3 version upgradeable.

The T5 stick will work well with the Pelican PS2 to PS3 (or USB) adapter.

The adapter is really good actually and it’s great that you can find it at a lot of stores like Gamestop and Gamecrazy.

As for the 360, I’m not sure which controllers you can use. I assume the Dead or Alive 4 stick and the upcoming VF5 stick. Not sure if there are proper converters for the 360 though (so I don’t know if there’s a good way of getting your T5 stick to work on the 360).

this is why i got a ps3. makes stick compability so much better, i have two of those pelican converters and they work great. :smokin:

its okay man, i already have a 360 and i don’t really play it. i’m willing to gamble my money for the ps3, its like import games down in the road that i’m hoping for.

when are we gonna get some pics of the VF5 STICK for the 360?? I wanna see it before it comes out.

Didn’t VF5 for 360 get delayed until the fall? If so, it might be a little longer until we see pictures of the stick.

As with bboysanstorm, I might be investing in a PS3 in the next week or so as well. I can’t wait any longer to play VF5. The D-Pad also sucks for the 360 and I don’t feel like buying a completely brand new stick, when I have 2 already for the PS2.

^^^^
wooooo
another ps3’er

where in cali is Novato?
thats like saying Rookie, CA in spanish

about 20-25 minutes north of San Francisco

I’m hoping to get the PS3 soon. I can’t get one until I get the payment for the Supergun I’m selling. I’m getting about half the budget for a PS3 for it, hopefully I’ll get it in my Paypal account tomorrow.

360 VF5 Details!

Better graphics, better AI, improved training, and a Hori brand stick coming to the US!

The best news of all however is that it’s still on track for a summer release. Hell yes!

Better AI? I LOOOOOVE YOU MAN!

Edit: Where does it say better AI? :frowning:

I can’t help but feel the IGN cat was a bit bias towards the 360. The graphics I have seen arn’t noticeably different. He also mentions “ugly jaggies” in the PS3 version? Anyone have examples of these ugly jaggies? I mean I’m all for them improving the graphics, but the game was already gorgeous imo.

I’m all for the imrpoved AI, the improvement on the training mode isn’t big enough to warrent really mentioning it… but it is an addition lol. All I really hope for is transferable profiles, but no mention of that yet

Agreed. I’m running the game at 720p and not a jaggy in sight, not even when I have to play it in 480i when I go over my friend’s place, so the IGN dude sure was exaggerating. Anyways, I don’t feel like buying it over again, but if they add transferable files I might just have to. Other then that, I don’t care for the AI improvement or the addition for training mode they announced so far.

figures an announcement like that would come on the day I buy a PS3

I don’t think I’ll be buying this again.

Yeah, I’m calling BS on the better graphics. But I’m glad Hori is making a stick, even if it isn’t going to be as good as the PS3 one.

If Sega doesn’t make the PS3 version upgradable to C, then I’m definitely going with the 360 version.

Version C makes dramatic changes to fix and balance many things out greatly. There’s also probably a couple of new items too.
