Thanks for the vids. Hmmm…I gotta learn how to do that command sidestep a lot more and manage to get his other throws in their. That was a pretty good rushdown Blaze. I’m surprised he didn’t do d/b+P+K at distance. I tend to use that low dropkick every now and then. It’s not that bad, actually.

I haven’t had the chance to play VF5 yet, so can anyone could tell me what are the flaws with El Blaze and why he is usually at the bottom of the tier listings?
It was easy to tell why Goh was low tier in Evo, but everytime I see a video of El Blaze, he seems to have good damage, ok speed and decent grabs, making me wonder why he considered one of weakest.
And yes, I know tier list mean nothing in VF, but this placement confuses me.
His normals aren’t exactly rushdown material. They’re too slow compared some of the other characters. That’s as much as I can think of at the moment since I’ve only been playing for two weeks. Against a player that can counter well, El Blaze’s normals are pretty much weak if they can’t connect.
not quite broken, like, there are worse juggles off of Kage Ten Foot Toss but for a character like Jacky it’s pretty good, like evidently you can do one more spring heel than what he does depending on the situation
To my knowledge Jacky, Pai, and Sarah can all bounce combo.
Akira after landing b,df P in a launch will bounce, which can be followed up with a double palm for really good damage.
There are probably others.
Also Kage does good damage off TFT but the real threat for TFT is ring out. Otherwise the grappling characters do way more damage (especially Wolf) off their throws.
Also Lau, Jeffry, Goh, Kage, etc. can bounce, lots of people can.
Agreed on TFT, the threat isn’t damage, which is usually 60~65. Tons of characters blow Kage’s combos away for damage. Even Pai/Lau have normal throws that almost meet a good TFT combo’s output. The threat is ring out from midscreen, hah. Biggest damage Kage has is off Jumonji Kamae counter, where he can easily break 100. Of course Jeffry Goh Pai Akira blah blah blah can all break 100 too, and more easily. Factor in a wall and everyone can be a monster (though the people I listed don’t need a wall at all).
Got it last week. Being a VF player, man, I’ve been loving it. But after a week of playing, I DO wish you could bring your file over a friend’s house. Customizing feels useless to me now(well, it always HAS been, but it’s fun). Here’s hoping the 360 version fixes that.
