The VF5 Thread: The future IS now. RIGHT NOW

Pai can’t recover out of TFT -> OM K; the other lightweights that sequence works on can though (I don’t understand why, but whatever).

It’s a nice anti-Pai combo, at least.

Every character in VF has a different weight; there aren’t actually any “classes”, people just group ones that are close to simplify things.

Eileen
Aoi
Pai
Vanessa
Sarah

El Blaze
Goh
Brad
Kage
Lei-Fei
Lion
Shun

Jacky
Lau
Akira

Jeffry
Wolf

Least tubby to tubbiest. Dashes where there are usually universal differences. Weight properties are also sometimes affected by stance (most prominently against Shun).

More people need to play VF, game is good for the soul.

Game is so much fun.

I believe Jeffry is heavier than Wolf.

Kage has lost some weight, he used to be between Shun and Jacky.

I want to playyyyyy! :’(

You’re absolutely right, I just sort of tend to flip-flop Wolf and Jeffry in my mind since there are more Wolf exceptions (seems that way at least). Sort of like how Eileen is lighter than Aoi (slightly) but there are more Aoi exceptions. That doesn’t explain why I flipped Jeffry and Wolf but not Eileen and Aoi but shut up.

I’ve got a question about the data select.

I have been playing with my gf, and we both either have to select data, or choose not to have data saved.

What is the point of having all of these separate data files? Why can’t they just associate with my profile, so I can just choose characters to play with easily?

If anyone could explain the point of these for me I’d appreciate it.

what fuck does that mean…it better not be anything racist…

why are you people so mean on this site

More people should play vf5?

Sure it’s a great game but can hardly blame the western world for not giving a shit
no arcade scene, no online scene

99% of people who bought it on the ps3 probably got it because there are fuck all ps3 games worth buying and will never learn how to play it properly

maybe if 360 version is online, things might change

Yeah I plan on buying the 360 later this year so it would be sweet if the 360 version supported online play. On another note, does anyone know the tiers for this game yet.

I finally got to play this game at BatB. I really like what they did for Vanessa. They made her much more interesting/fun IMO and less boring. When I really get to try out more characters, I’ll decide on who’ll be my main, but for right now I’m a Vanessa/Kage user.

People should actually get into VF, it’s less frustrating then other 3-D fighters. The characters are a little boring and the moves aren’t very impressive but VF is still fun to play. It’s more realistic then the other 3-D fighters.I personally think Tekken is better but there is alot of things that happen during the playing of Tekken that frustrate me.If you want a 3-D fighter though that’s challanging but you don’t have to worry about sill shit like somehow getting kicked in the chest with a jump kick while your doing a sweep kick,VF is your game.

I agree Vanessa is now my favorite character thanks to VF5.I wanted to use her on the last one but they did such a shitty job on her character design i just didn’t bother. She was all shiny and buff and shit on the last one.

The same could be said of Tekken and yet that game does just fine.

It isn’t going to happen.

Impressive? Boring? Opinions. Some people find simply being competent in VF to be impressive and exciting. Realism isn’t important in fighting games. It hasn’t been for about twenty years and I don’t suppose it will be any time soon.

Racist? What gave you that idea? Sounds like you’re eager to be insulted. If you ask me (and this is man to man) it looks like he simply stretched out the word “okay”.

ooook=oooookay

People here are either brutally honest or trolls. The trolls can be ignored and exist simply to piss you off and I don’t think you want us lying to you.

I’m trying to build interest in VF5 at this tourney I’m going to in Kissimmee, FL. Are there other Popular forums for this game other than SRK and VFDC?
If so, could you guys send me a link? I really love this game and I want to be able to find more people that play. Thanks.

realism is important at some point.I know the characters or the premise of the game doesn’t have to be realistic, not even the moves that they do have to be realistic but the reactions to each move, the damage it takes out,and what should hit you when should be realistic.

Recovering after a solid kick to the face is nowhere near realistic. Even professional fighters wind up on their backs with their eyes traveling in separate orbits after eating solid strikes to the chin. Flying several (hell, even just a few or ONE) feet/meters in the air after an uppercut or scooping move is also nowhere near realistic. And as far as I can tell DOA still earns Tecmo/Team Ninja money with their unrealistic boobs, physics and anime-style faces. Nevermind the bears, dinosaurs and robots in Tekken. What’s the name of that game with the animals…? Monster! Does that game have humans in it? (joke/cheap shot) Realism is almost never important.

Vf was never known for its flash or good character design. Its all about the system and in Vf the system is allmost flawless (IMO).

The advantage of flash is that it helps selling the game, but it doesn’t help maintaining a firm player base.

Realism doesn’t matter at all. You see a lot of UFC or Bushido Blade tournaments? A scene for them? New games in their series?
