SRK is not a good place to learn VF, go to www.virtuafighter.com for that. Do you guys ask for T5DR Devil Jin strats on this forum too? Damn it’s like vfdc doesn’t exsist for you guys. :wonder:
Anyway, today I’m gonna cool off on my Arcana Heart money splurge/practice and play some more VF5. I’m gonna see if I can cook something up with El Blaze. I’m feeling Lei Fei in this game too. You could totally turtle with him. I just need more human competition though. Ugh…Damn you people for not playing this game(re: NYC folks).
Yeah, I’ve seen these guys in person. They’re pretty good. The only problem is getting them to frequent web2zone more often. And considering it’s a PS3, I doubt they’d want to lug it around week after week. So in the end, it’s a real inconvenience for some of us. But, when I do see them, I’ll make sure to play and learn. And as for the VF scene in NYC being one of the biggest: I dunno. It’s only like, 6 of them. Hopefully, it IS bigger like you said.
Damn, I really need to cut back on some games. Too many on my plate at the moment. Damn it all.
I just wonder if it will be identical to the Ps3 version. And how console tourneys will handle players who use one version and players who use the other version.
I know that in the past, fighting games that were on bother PS2 and Xbox usually use PS2. But seeing how some are in the F— PS3 era and are willing to wait for the Xbox 360 version, this may be 50/50 ish. Might complicate things tourney-wise a bit.
Actually as of last year we (NYC VF) used to “live” at Web2Zone. They hosted our FT dual cabinet at the start of the year in '06. They asked us to take it out in mid-November.
We mostly have been playing at NYCLAN for the fact they have a PS3. We have been at W2Z twice since VF5, the first time was at the first Slammin’ Saturday Night Fights tourney when the game came out that week and we were there last week. (We even talked briefly. :wgrin: )
Oh, and there about 20 of us serious VF players in NYC, though we hardly ever all meetup at once.
BTW Shag, how are those sticks that the VF guys use? I think they were using a Hori, but it wasn’t the HRAP3. My friend wants to get one and he’s still debating on what’s best. Of course, I’m egging him on to get the HRAP3 only because I benefit in the long run. :wgrin:
Anyway, I was messing around with El Blaze today. Damn, some of his normals are slow. Not that bad. But, they seem slow to me. His throw game is pretty tight though. His f+P+G+K into P+G throw is too good. That shit goes underneat some standing kicks. Too good. You can also replace P+G with P+K to run back so as to build some space. You can also use b/u+K for some space building as well. D/b+K+P+P can start a throw setup as well. Not too sure how safe it is against a human player. But, I’ll have to try it out soon.
^ yeah his normals are pretty slow. plus his range isn’t great. you have to get in close and make good use of OM to really get somewhere. I’d like to see his frame data. That’d help tons. It’s probably on virtuafighter.com somewhere, but they didn’t make a thread about it and i’m too lazy to look atm.
