Apparently according to old tearing akira was, i didnt ever see a problem with it, something about his damage was the complaint on old forums, but like i said i dont care we are at 5 now.
As far as sticks go i have no clue, me and my pals tried like 5 or 6 different adaptors to no luck. The Buttons worked on alot of them but the stick did not on all. So if anyone is really good at stick makin maybe they could solve the problem for the community!
The only cheesy character in the original VF4 IIRC was Jacky.

Man, its like EVERY time there is a new character, I like based off looks alone (in VF, KOF it is the opposite), they wind up being at the bottom of the tier list.
Yeah, yeah VF is balanced so it isn’t like I’m playing as Sean 3S, but still…
Her throw game isn’t all that hot compared to other characters, and per move her damage isn’t high either, although she benefits a lot from a ton of strings and cancels. She’s also a lightweight!
Didn’t know Vanessa was that high up. I just started using her a few days ago. Any 'Nessa players in here with some helpful hints?
my main is Lion (hence my Chibita Jr nickname on newchallenger ) but i’m kind of thinking of switching to Vanessa.

at close range:
P3P - if P hits throw, if 3P counterhits 6PKK juggle
defensive stance PP - PPK ends low, PP P+K+G hits mid and shifts to offensive, PP throw is good to tick, PPPK counters throw counter attempts and knocks down
defensive stance 3P is the fastest strike in the game, safe on block and hits high, poor range
defensive stance 8P during G - negates rushdown, crumple stuns
offensive stance 9K+G beats crouching P, launches, rings out against fences
mid range:
defensive stance 3K is safe, good for ranged offense, staggers crouchers, dash up throw or 3K again works well afterward
offensive stance 46K is special mid, causes stagger anim against crouching block that guarantees PK followup, 6P+K guaranteed after counterhit 46K which shifts to takedown
offensive stance 3KK natural combo, press 6 before second K to shift to Intruder Step
far:
defensive stance 66K, mid hit knockdown, good punisher
offensive stance 66KP is good to gain advantage in footsies after backdash evading a normal thrown at you
I wish 44K+G, 2 didn’t make her change styles. I like to use it as a retreat tactic, but i don’t like the automatic stance switch.
i think it only changes styles if you press down / 2, you can tap G while holding K+G to step out or just do K+GG to step in but i don’t think those two options make you shift stance
My Fighting stick 3 is awesome for this game- but I think right now only the Sixaxis controllers are compatable with BC. Sucks. You should pick one up anyway, though, they are like 35 bucks from EB.
Shun Di is raw in this game. Also got to say I’m loving the akira alt costume.
Is that the stick thats all gray and has the slant buttons. Cause i played on one for the PS3 and it was nice.
Any advice on Goh? I’ve been playing him since I got this game.
^ I haven’t spent a lot of time with him in part 5. I pretty much abandoned him to pick up Vanessa. All I’d say is learn the concept of 0 Frame Throws and make friends with 66K. That’s a really good new move.
6K (on CH? any hit?) puts the opponent in a crouch which sets up a crouch-throw opportunity. If they get wise to it and start to break the crouch throw, you can use 33P, from there quickly do offensive move to get close then 2P, 6PK (the shoulder ram coming out of the crouching jab).
He’s a pretty popular character from the footage i’ve seen of tournies and such. I’m sure there are a lot of people in this thread that know about him.
^just want to add some stuff in for Goh
6K on CH staggers the opponent so you get a free follow up. Use 6PP to keep them standing since its a mid and safe on block. 4P+K is your typical launcher, even though it has a pretty slow startup, safe on block.
IMO, one of his best upgrades is his 46P - fast, safe, and knocksdown. After 46P, you can follow up with a 2P, 26P+K.
Another one of my favorites is his 66K+G then follow up with 4P+G, it has a slow startup but once 66K+G hits(doesnt matter if its blocked or not) you get a free grapple if you input 4P+G right after. Although use this move accordingly because its a high move and slow.
Utilize his P+K if you expect a punch coming because it deflects punches and you can follow up with a Tsukami (P+G)
Goh’s Sabakis are 46K, 3P+K, 1P+K
Generally like Stuc2k said, learn the concept of 0-frame throws. Also try to keep the opponent standing by utilizing his mid attacks. Learn to use his sabakis so the opponent will think twice before attacking (thus, leading to a 0-frame throw, YAY!)
I’ve been experimenting with Vanessa and bounce combos. I could be wrong about who some of these work on…my response time just may not be fast enough.
Offensive stance:
Death Scythe:
(hold 6)K, 43P+K, P, K, light down attack. Works on everybody. 68 damage
(hold 6)K, 43P+K, 6P, P, K works on everybody up to Shun Di (you have to be closed stance for Jacky, Lau, and Akira) 73 damage. Doesn’t matter about the stance if you’re near a wall.
HAWK Strike: (counter-hit needed)
9K, P, 43P+K, P, K 75 damage. Can’t get this to work on anybody past Lau. Works regardless of stance.
Is there anything that gives more damage off a counter HAWK Strike? And is there anything better to do off the Death Scythe kick? Just trying to get as much damage and I can out of her (been using her for 2 whole days)
