Sega said it themselves in an interview. They tried playing VF5 with lag implemented and the game is near unplayable since it’s so frame demanding. If they want to make an online fighter, it will be something else not a VF title.

You can find competition in your area if you look. Try to find people who bought PS3’s or the game by asking your local game store. I’m sure you can find people in your area or at least people interested in playing it.
I don’t even own a PS3 lol.

yeah i thought about it abit, the game must be horribly unplayable if he actually didnt put online into it, its brain dead otherwise, it must be extremely bad
too bad cause i love VF, and imho vf desperately needs challengers for people to see why the game is so great

I dunno it cant be that bad… maybe they’ll release a version B of the game which is what i heard. Supposivly there will be online play and new little fixes to characters. But im not a 100% certain this is true. All i know is i want this game now.:lovin:
Yeah so i finally played this game for several hours few days ago. Is it true Lei Fei is now broken. Like how Akira was in VF4. Just curious because thats a dissapointment but he does seem alot better in this game. His moves come out way faster if u ask me and hi damage is around the same. Anyone wanna confirm just how good he is?
i dunno, i just hope the get their head around it.
btw its strange i always thought akira had the easiest style to deal with in VF4 evo, but iv never played it competitively enough to be certain
The MK games play pretty much flawlessly online. DoaU, DOA4, CFE, and HF all play very very well online. With a little time, they could’ve gotten the game at least semi playayble.
caliagent, none of those games play well online. DoA is several times simpler and brain dead easier than VF and EVEN IT is almost untolerable in online play.
Online play should only be for people who for regional reasons have no chance of getting competition. Otherwise online play just generates laziness and trash attitudes. DoA Community stands as a testamet to the failure of the online experiment.
Lei-Fei is a lot better at mixup, once he gets mixup going you’ll have a hard time stopping him unless you’re really good at reading his offensive patterns. he basically now stands as one of the characters who’s best at rushdown, but anyone who can read when he stance shifts, since when he shifts he’s not apt to be able to move around fluidly or block in most cases, will just elbow him out of it. he’s effective if you only shift when you’re at advantage and safely use sabakis, lest you get DM’ed and owned
i would say on youtube to watch the Chibita Cup 3 on 3, there was a really good LeiFei there who pretty much only lost because he shifted wrong once

How would playing this game with lag show people that it’s great?
MK and CFE are by far the best games online. HF compares to them ONLY if you play people in the US. AE and CVS are really mediocre. the only game that plays horribly online is #R. It’s unplayable, literally. Also, the doa community consists of a lot of people who’ve never played anything other than either DOA4 or DOAU, so their attitudes are sort of expected until they learn to play other games or start playing other than on live. Also we’ve had a few people on this site who thought they were hot shit becuase they beat someone online (EX:Justownin) and they were never given the time of day. And we all know offline is the way to prove yourself anyways so it shouldn’t matter what they say. Check the first post in this thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=114330 . Dude thought he was the best because of a few wins on live, got beasted first round and left.
akira broken in vf4? please practice in tutorial mode before you make lameass assumptions. btw, great game, i fucking hate playing it on the fucking sixaxis though. does anyone know of any of the available sticks that are BC with ps2 games on the ps3?
so what are the downsides of eileen? i’m dicking around with her in practice mode and i like what i’m seeing. haven’t tried to fight anyone with her yet though.
