just beacuse evo is allowing button mapping doesnt make you any less of a cheater if you use button mapping. Theres no argument for saying pressing one button is just as hard as pressing 3 buttons.
And why the fuck is jackys other lighting kick from vf3 and fighters mega mix still not in this game. was it that cheaty? Yawn oh well…
IMO playing on pad puts you at such an extreme disadvantage in VF, I would feel bad playing against someone playing pad if they weren’t using their most comfortable config, whether it used multi buttons or not.
agreed with DJ, Stick v Pad, both competent players, stick will win a WHOLE LOT more often than not, GGXX it’s more negligable, capcom games same thing, even Tekken can be played pretty well on pad, but VF with multi throw escaping, option selecting, and crazy crazy character combos = much much harder to do proficiently on pad…
Playing stick makes things waay more replecatable so if you can do it once, it’ll be easier to do it twice, etc. but that doenst’ mean it’s not possible on a pad. I think that if you really want to, playing on pad is possible, but it’s like it is in marvel: some people do it well, but most people like to play with a stick. It’s all up to you and your own personal preference.
WTF was gamespot smoking when they said that there is some pixelation and jagged edges here and there? My import copy looks fucking good on my TV with a 720p enabled. I’ve yet to spot a pixelated texture or BG. It looks really sharp and smooth at the same time. The game’s graphics are quality stuff. The amount of detail on the characters too were amazing. I want to learn akira more. I am not that consistent with his DLC combo floats.
I think what he is saying is that you cannot argue that simultaneously hitting 2+ buttons in VF5 is easier than hitting one button that is programmed to input 2+ simultaneous button presses (i.e. macros).
The most likely rationale being that there is a greater chance that you will occasionally mess up and not hit the two+ buttons simultaneously, whereas with button mapping, there is a 100% of hitting 2+ buttons simultaneously, since one button has been assigned the task of two buttons. True, you can occasionally miss hitting that programmed macro button, but even still, it is easier to hit 1 button than it is to hit 2+ buttons simultaneously
Tangentially, thank you The Granby for that tutorial link. Where can I find more tutorial videos like this? Is there a thread for this already? If so, could someone post the link? If not, where can I see more instructional videos for VF5?
Been playing it since Wednesday and I have been completely floored by this game. I immediately noticed that the gameplay felt a lot smoother than Evo and I’m now able to pick up and play Akira, Goh and Lion a lot easier in VF5.
This game just smokes anything that’s out there right now.
Hitting 2 or 3 buttons in vf is less prone to mistake because there is a 2 frame window for hitting them “simultaneously”, ie you can hit P on one frame then hit K on the next and it will register as P+K, whereas in Tekken you must press the button on the same frame.
Just came back from a gathering in SoCal. Played the game straight for 12 hours! Alex Valle didn’t show up, maybe he had something to do I guess. Hope he shows up for the March tournament, it’ll be awesome! This is the only game where I can play 100+ matches and STILL want to keep playing till I drop.
