VF5 in Chicago

This was posted over at Gamefaqs by BakaOrochi.

Virtua Fighter 5 is now on test at Gameworks Schaumburg (Chicago, IL)!

The techs set the machine up tonight, it’s on the second floor near Psy-Phi and next to DDR. It’s about 23 credits a play (yikes). It’s in the Lindberg cab that Virtua Tennis 3 was in.

Machine is set to whatever it was at I think it was E3 or wherever it was demoed in the U.S.: 45 second rounds, 3 points to win for VS, 2 points for solo games. No character change on continue (I’m sure that can be adjusted if people want it changed).

It’s also in Japanese, there’s no endings or intros (just throws up the staff roll after the game is over).

El Blaze and Eileen = fun as hell (I’m a little biased towards luchadors =P). Not sure I like the changes to Pai Chan though.

I’ll probably be there on Thursday night, since the game allows time card play, and there’s those time card specials on Thursday nights after 9 or 10PM (gotta be 21 or older).

I told the news to VFDC and MADrox confirmed that its there. Some of the reply by MADrox was this.

credits per game = 13 (where i bought 160 credits for $10)

so without reading any move lists, i found Blaze easier to pick up than eileen. Genreal game feel is the same as Evo/FT, but its the little things that i havnt discoverd which im sure will make the difference.

Found now why that guy goes on thursdays, which i may now as well : after 9pm its $10 bucks for all youcan play … thats a bargain.

I just bought VF:EVO in hopes that I can actually try and get somewhere with this game, but it still makes me feel incredibly stupid. Haha, oh well.

Big thanks for that, didn’t even know moves lists were out yet, i’m still trying to figure out who to go for i’m feeling kage and i’ve used him for ages like since 3 but akira has a whole load of crazy shit that i like plus i can use him pretty well.
I’m not feeling lau in 5 though that makes me sad anyway thanks again

They’ve recently added some new customizable features on VF.Net.

The biggest of all is skin tone customization. So far I’ve seen pale skinned Vannesa (like Michael Jackson) and Goh with a tan. :amazed:
