Is there really a socal vf scene now? Back in the time of VF3 and TB it was pretty slim. There were about 5 of us. I’ve been out of it for a while and basically gave up because there werent enough players here in LA. Was nice to play in tokyo while I lived there but coming back home was always the depressing part.
I don’t think that really matters. Even though he’s much better now, and probably is #1 in America, no one seems to be respecting him still.
Being an asshole in order to instill a drive for players to get better is okay…but it only works if the people your doing it to have even an ounce of respect for you. I don’t know how bad his track record is, but that thread I linked certainly didn’t help him. With the main claim and quite a few other ones had said in there, there was no other way to take what he said to certain players and scenes in NA but as an insult, as he was making grand claims about they’re lack of competence in the game without providing adequate evidence.
That thread was from a while ago. I think he just put everything bluntly and it ruffled some feathers, but I’ve met him in real life and he is a cool guy.

I finally saw some matches at www.gametrailers.com and I was very much impressed with what I saw. I’m not all that into VF, but this game might just get me playing again. I especially liked El Blaze “Start running NOOOOOOW” haha. And it was here, that I read about Vanessa, and knowing what she looked like in Evo, I was doubtful that it was true, so I went over to Sega’s official site, and I was like WOW, she IS insanely hittable :wgrin: I personally like her new look over her Evo version.
Shou is definitely a top player and a cool guy but I could not say he’s #1 with 100% certainty. Also fighting for top spot in my eyes are Kazu and Adamyuki with Maddy trailing behind. I’m including Kazu even though he is a native from Japan, he has been residing mostly in NYC for the past 3 years. IMF and Ghetto-Shun also gets honorable mention but both haven’t played competitively for almost 2 years.
And going by the recent footage, the Golden twins from NJ (Namflow and SuperGolden) have really upped their game from their residences in Japan. Its ironic how Shou from that “competence” thread was originally commentating on Namflow’s game back then and now they get together to play each other whenever they can.
Shou visited us NYC VF players in February and Adamyuki was beating him considerably in FT. Shou blamed the sticks and threw a fit; even throwing away his VF.net card in disgust. I have raw footage of matches from his trip which I’ll be looking to encode this week; I especially want to put up the Team Battle we did featuring Shou and Yosuke. :bgrin:

Yes you are correct. Adamyuki is of Persian descent. Pakistani to be specific.
About the whole vanessa thing.Yes in this installment she is lighter but its not as bad as everyone thinks.Just to make everyone happy she’s the same complextion as Beyonce Knowles,and everyone loves her.
