damn! so thats why this game is so hyped and always claimed to be not so newbie friendly. sounds good. admitantly, if it were not for you breaking that down like that, and clearly stating the difference in vf and other games. i would have been like, eh, its cute.
good shit. makes me want to play it now, but isnt vf4 pretty dead. i guess i should be patient for the ps3 release. fucking japan, getting shit in there sexy ass arcades, ON HD SCREENS(they need hd screens for that though, dont they:confused: )
good shit. cant wait to learn this game then. i love my tekken, but this shit sounds straight, and now i get it
It’s good you have interest in the game now. Trust me VF is a game where the more you play the more you want to learn about the games system. So far the VF5 PS3 screens look so good most people think they are just arcade screens. I guess we will have to wait and see.
are the vids in the link i post the page before, high level or intermediate, or trash. i cant tell the difference. i would like to see some high level vf action. any links
It’s not really a big deal…but I think it’s cuz they made her less black than she was in order to make her appeal to people. Just my opinion of course.
Yeah people complaining about her being less black…here’s a random factoid:
If you look on the vf4evo (and probably original vf4) ps2 dvd on your pc, there are some .cvm files in the root directory. Open VF4STRMS.CVM up in Isobuster, and you can look at all the game data files. Go into the ADX folder, and scroll down to the “VO_” (voice files). All of them are labeled with the characters’ names like “VO_KAGE_1P_01.ADX”. Note that Vanessa’s voice files are named “VO_BLACK”. lmao
In order to make her appeal to a larger audience, her skin color was made much lighter and her visible muscles were reduced. For those that found her pre-VF5 design appealing, that is a negative.
Some can find it downright insulting. A darker skinned woman isn’t attractive, so make her near-white so that people will like her?
I actually prefer her new look…she looked to much like a man before. She wasnt very fem or anything so i kinda agree with Sega making her look more like a women. I think its kinda retarded that anyone would complain about her skin tone…it looks a lot better.
Man, if I ever get to play this game, I’m trying Eileen IMMEDIATELY! She seems to be my favorite right now (since my VF4 favorites Kage/Aoi/Akira/Goh dind’t feel right to me, so I was stuck with Sarah and Pai), and El Blaze is hilarious. I really like these new characters this time around, and it seems that some of the older characters got beefed up.
Also, IMO new Vanessa>old Vanessa. She seems more feminine now, as well as still having her “masculine” Vale Tudo intact. Stupid comment, yes, but still.
I’ll explain the VFDC sucks comment right now. Some people that post at VFDC, most of the SoCal crew, and other select players don’t like Shou because they think he is elitist and an asshole. He is brutally honest with what he says, so he comes off as an asshole sometimes. He is a cool guy in real life. He just talks a lot of shit online to try and get people motivated, but they just take to seriously and call him an asshole or whatever instead of trying to improve.
Well, from that thread at least, it paints a different picture. It seemed like he was talking a lot of shit without backing up what he was saying, and when people were calling him out on that, he just beated around the bush.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that Shou is the #1 American VF player, and now more so because he lives in Japan. If he came back he would be very strong, and there’s only maybe 3 or 4 American players I think that would go 50/50 with him. This was in FT’s heyday anyway. VF5 might be another matter entirely.
