Yeah it was. BTC was smart on those empty jumpins on Daigo’s sagat he kept missing his uppercuts. It was very close.

sounds like it was a pretty cool event. Reading through the last few pages has definitely made me want to start playing a lot again (barely played the last couple months because of a new job + playing other games), at least I would have wanted to come spectate. Good work.

Once Blanka’s Super hits the ground, I believe he loses all invincibility, where Sagat’s Super is invincible upto the 1st 4 frames of the Uppercut. So it makes sense that Sagat beat Blanka. I’ve even hit Blanka’s Super with fireballs once he’s on the ground and just spinning there.
So good.
there were a few missed opportunities I saw that would have knocked daigo into losers. I don’t think he was ready for a blanka player of that level.
I think most characters have normal moves that can beat the ground roll part of Blanka’s super, though I’m not sure if Sagat’s crouching short will stop it.
I agree you had him bro…I noticed you screwed up on low forward into regular ball and accidently did the rainbow ball missing big dammage opportunity…and why was it 3 out 5 rounds per match (who’s idea was it…it was stupid imo)? Even ST in Japan have it classic 2 out 3 rounds per actual game match.
Dont know about HDR but in ST it will stop it. But whether it’s worth the risk of eating a super…

It was my idea :badboy: ST is too fast of a game and James Chen agreed that with the nature of counter picking, 3/5 is better.
But I proposed 3/5 games. not 3/5 rounds. not sure why choi misunderstood what I said.

We need more character variety and there are very few blanka players (hello mr igloo!)
actually statistically the more games/rounds, the worse a matchup get’s. also, blankas super can get stuffed by LOTS of things after the initial popup.
Whenever blanka does super, I just throw out a slow projectile or I just wait so I can punish him with st.fp. That super sucks.
I was playing someone at NCR, not sure who it was, who did Blanka’s super and managed to cancel the hop back after the initial roll, I couldn’t punish. He told me he didn’t know how the hell it happens. I’m curious myself because I rather enjoy smacking blanka with standing fierce.
