The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

“You’re not getting away!”
“No, I’m not, I’m dying you idiot!”

Oh SNK.

It is impressive.

But I don’t see it as so far beyond some of impressive feats that SF characters, and some SF bosses did.

SF3 Ryu could take him on solo probably.

The key word here is focused. This was Goenitz just touching down and appearing. This wasn’t any sort of real attack, plus, he did that with wind, not a concussive explosion, that’s pretty impressive.

Real talk SNK bosses can easily take on most of the Street Fighter universe and not even get touched once, Akuma, Gill and Bison probably being the only three who could have a close fight

Don’t forget Gouken, Oro and Prime Gen.

Holy shit, the others are all awful. Glad they went with the best of a bad crop.

They really wanted her to chew gum, jeeze.

You can add Oro but that’s It

Reality Is all come down with how much DBZ bullshit Capcom, SNK or whoever are willing to throw in to raise the retardness bar

Example Sega’s Virtua Fighter keept the bullshit low and in these crossover discussion they will be all weaklings…

…but on reality they were designed to be the best martial arts masters of theyr world, just like SF ones and KoF ones

This retard competition make It that character vs character comparision have no sense, on reality Is just current Capcom bullshit level vs current SNK bullshit level

SNK Is higher because they have a faster pace and are more willing to turnover heroes and bosses, while Capcom Is taking forever to bring Ryu to Akuma’s level

This Is why One Punch Man’s Saitama Is the saviour of anime world

He will end all the crossover bullshit by punching every overrated tryhard with bored face and all going at 12%

Ever thought so too

I got Ryu beating Terry but Terry beating Cody

This was when SNK had Capcom way of create characters

In FF and AoF there was a “fighter” way of design characters very much like SF

KoF changed completely theyr way, for better or worse Is up to personal tastes

Personally i got very mixed feelings about it, but being more a Capcom fan i prefer old SNK (even if “new” SNK at this point have 25+ years lol)

The worst thing about those outfits is that she looks like a teenager wearing a sexy cop costume for Halloween rather than being an actual cop.

Not to undermine Nitz but ki is ki.

I’d also think generating plasma would be a bigger physical feat than forcing wind. A bird flapping its wings can generate an air current. What animal do you know can burn like the sun?

We dodged a few bullets there.

That first Lucia design is pretty kickass. A modern version of her old one… pretty perfect. If anything, a lot of the problems with it might come from the artstyle, not the design itself. In game it would look pretty good. Just remove the painted police sign on her clothes and have it be, you know, actual markings. Of course, there’s also room for improvement, but I would have taken this any day before what we got.

The others suck balls tho.

I think the first one is way too punk-ish, Lucia looks like one of the mad gear thugs instead of a policewoman there.

The design is on the right path there though: it takes inspiration from her original FF3 outfit and tries to build up on it, the default they went for went too much in the opposite direction to make her look like a police officer at the cost of not looking like her FF3 anymore and be kinda bland. The best thing would have been clean up that design a little bit to make her look more like a legit police officer while keeping the FF3 inspiration and a very few punk elements to make her stand out.

I don’t see the point of maintaining the FF3 look. It’s just as generic. All there is to it is a sports bra and dixie dukes.

That’s why they should have built on that design, making it more interesting. I don’t really like that Lucia’s new default makes her basically unrecognizable from her source material.

Ditching it was best choice. Being a cop is important to the character’s visual design. You can’t tell she’s meant to be a cop by looking at her with the FF3 design. That’s something an average woman would wear in a NYC heatwave.

I think one could have easily kept the brown jacket and the shorts that made her recognizable in Final Fight 3 while also having enough space to add new elements to her design in order to make her job as a policewoman clear and make her design more interesting.

I don’t see the FF3 design to be worth salvaging. I’m the type of guy that doesn’t hold the source material sacred. If the original design doesn’t match up with the direction Capcom wants to take the character I don’t see the need to uphold it. If they want something more visually interesting then they probably should have not gone with a uniform.

They did this with Kolin too which shits me.

The problem is: her new design isn’t really interesting to look either.

At that point it would have been better if they just updated her old design with their new ideas.

The only thing I like about her original design is the brown eyes…
