Yeah. He’s going to have to start by whiffing claps like a madman. I think once he does that though he should at least be able to get in and start his oki. If he doesn’t have armor which I think is unlikely then he’s going to cry. A lot. Even with it I expect enough recovery to get fucked UP if he doesn’t call it right. We’ll see though!

And yes, i picked Seth and am putting some work on him, but until they make Vega at least mid-tier in this game i wont play him. Im even considering not playing more SF for how unfair the Vega vs top tier characters can be, and how random/disgusting its to deal with wakeup for Vega.
However, i see you have done a lot of Vega lab work and im really not a SF lab work monster as im in marvel so i guess you must be right about some of the points brought. Still, a close range s.HP > cr.MK doesnt necessarily need a cr.MK buff, just decrease the throwback of s.HP for making cr.MK linkable as the cr.MP is.
Its more like “every character was designed with weaknesses. If you can’t deal with those weaknesses, don’t play that character.” No one is forcing you to play Vega.
I mean I play Juri, so I know where you’re coming from about not having a good wake-up option(don’t you dare say EX pinwheel because that shit trades 9 out of 10 times)
and while I would appreciate her getting invincibility frames on that move, it probably won’t happen. But I deal with it because that’s the character I enjoy playing the most.
And I most certainly won’t sit here and complain that I won’t play SF anymore until she gets that buff like a little bitch. Kind of like what you’re doing.
So either
A) come to terms with your character choice.
B. pick a different character since Vega bothers you so much
C) quit street fighter

I still disagree about your opinion the character design of Vega being vulnerable to vulnerable to jump-in attacks.

plus he’s a keep away poke character… how can he be a keep away character when he can’t stay away defensively from jump in attacks well like other characters who excell at keep away from jump in attacks better than him and they are not even keep away poke characters, he’s supposed to better than them at it.
Being bad on wake up I understand with his character design, but not being able keep away from people in the air and on the ground better than others isn’t right for his character design.
He needs more air and more ground keep away tools for his pokes imo considering for how horrible it becomes for him when someone gets a knockdown on him. I believe that’s balance for Vega.

I also hope they speed up Oni’s air ultra 1. Or make it so that it can be canceled into from his lp air dash even if it doesn’t connect. That way he could use it to bait out anti-airs like his air super. Otherwise it’s not really a viable move and what’s the point in a character having a move if they don’t have an opportunity to use it?

We’ll see. The startup and hitbox on EX Moonsault Press is pretty damn good, in SFxT it’s only 5F startup and invincible until 7F and the thing goes SO DAMN FAR:
One thing is for sure, Yun neutral jumping shenanigans will be shut down lol.
Hugo is good candidate for Yun meterless combo into u1, fuzzy guard, air tc hitting even if he crouches, and extra cr.mp. I do fear that he might be hard to fight on the ground and that Hugo’s huge body makes XU dk hard/impossible. Still I’m pretty excited to see what they will do with Hugo so that he doesn’t overlap too much with Gief and Hawk. Perhaps slower normals and cmd grab but good palms and AA?
My hope is that they make him have armor on a number of moves as well as the better AA and palm combos. Most notable though I think will be his corner carry using things like Meat Squasher which can put the opponent in the corner right away which is something neither Gief or Hawk can do currently. Also unlike Gief/Hawk or even Hakan or Abel: Hugo has a legit overhead with d+d+MK and close HP.
As for slower normals, yeah Hugo is the slowest ever. He has the slowest normals pretty much in the history of SF. His command throw (moonsault press) is actually the same speed as Gief’s SPD so I can’t imagine they’d make it significantly worse. Actually MP/HP Moonsault is faster than MP/HP SPD.
I hope that they make EX Meat Squasher have 2 hits of armor so he can potentially run through an EX projectile so that zoning isn’t SO bad for him.
One interesting thing people might not realize is that this will replace both Gief/Hawk and potentially Oiled Hakan for the most health in the game. Hugo will likely be 1150 or possibly (but unlikely) 1200 health. Hakan with oil is basically 1155 as he has 1050 health but takes 10% less damage.
