ok just now got around to reading this even though i’ve had it for quite some time, and i knew it was going to be bad… but wow. it really just felt like they could think “ok what’s a good cliffhanger situation and let’s throw it in”

joe mad still has a lot of storytelling issues. a lot of his fight scenes are just plain badly drawn.
especially that page where hawkeye jumps out of the inset panel. the one where he looks like he’s behind instead of in front of venom. i also remember him shooting a spear away from the page.
I just got issue 2, it’s horrible.
This is a hilarious castastrophy. It’s like they are trying to make the comic as early 90’s as possible.
Lame ass one liners, everyone looks like they are on super juice, and there was even an add for the new X Force.

Then at the end WOLVERINE SHOWED UP!
It’s like a way worse version of Hush.
I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as people are claiming.
I’ll wait until all 5 issues are in before I make final judgment on how the story is.
So far I’m just enjoying the ride.
The art, though, is fan-freakin’-tastic.
It’s like MAD! never left comics, and thank god they fixed the printing.
Little too light now, but it’s better than too muddy.
This sounds MUCH worse than Hush. And MUCH worse than issue 1. God, I have to buy it only because of Joe Mad. Other than that, the story is shit.

Yeah, I agree with Vicious. Waited a month for a 5 minute read. If I knew that the story went nowhere I would’ve saved 3 bucks by reading it at the comic book store. I wonder if Spidey froze to death? Anyone lucky enough to get a Turner variant?
the comic shop i go to were asking amost $20 for the turner variant, i love mikes art but not for $20, but even though the story line in this book is kinda crapy am just buying for joe mads art, am just a hard core fan of his stuff and just seeing him back for this run made me happy:lovin:
I just read Ultimates #2. Not fun at all. Joe’s Spidey is still top notch, though.
Yeah Joe Mad’s Spidey made the book for me. There’s no hope for the story at this point…
Best part in the book was when Spidey did rapid fire web-ball.
This of course doesn’t salvage the stupid “VENOM ATTACKED US, I AM GOING TO SHOOT YOU” scene that it was a part of.
Spidey should have never gotten surprised by Hawkeye. He has a Spider Sense you FUCKERS. DUH.
