RIKIR!
You are p. gdlk. I gotta explore some of those relaunch and corner combos you do for when my Tron is missing assists or something. I like the anchor and XF play too, great job!

Im getting there I guess… aha…
that winrich set was godlike
How’s Ammy as an anchor for Tron/Sent?
I used Wesker as an anchor but he doesn’t really do much besides be Wesker when Tron/Sent die.
I’m learning Sent right now since he’s pretty much perfect for Tron
This isn’t the right thread for this, but Ammy is a good anchor in general. Has a lot of tools and actually speeds up and does damage in XF3. She works well with the team too… or at least it worked in Vanilla. No DHC trick in this game but should still be pretty effective.
thanks.
I thought I was in the team thread for some reason. sorry about that x.x
You have any tips for fighting against doom or taskmaster, I find it hard to beat dooms foot dive or beams from the sky because of trons big hurtbox and taskmaster shield and arrows are annoying.
I’m playing with zero, tron nemesis.
Against Doom you basically don’t want to challenge him from his foot dive angles, especially if you’re Tron. His zoning can be a problem too. If he’s reckless, try using anti air f.M or antiprojectile f.M xx drill to get close? And as for Task, if he’s smart he’s just going to zone you out. If he tries to rush you down try to block or airthrow. Tron has pretty much bad matchups with everyone though I would suggest going Zero if you can, he covers way more angles than Tron can.
Depends on what Doom’s doing. If he’s Zoning, LOL, if he’s rushing with Footdives like the majority of the online community, Jump back jM into either Drill or jS, maim/kill him.
I personally play Nemesis on point against Doom though, that jM of his is disgusting.
I usually just switch to Skrull when fighting Doom, slamming derps with Meteor Smash does wonders against Foot Dive. It helps fight zoning, too!
/not helping
thanks, i’ll try to apply this next time I run into those characters
Had a tourney this weekend. Got 13th out of 60. Had a few matches on stream:
Won a somewhat decent match at** 2:37** against Danke (made some Iron Man videos?), then got shut down pretty bad at 3:01 by Young (Lame Taskmaster).
Basically, I got the feeling that Tron is extremely gimped without a strong projectile assist. Also, my Nova is freeeeee. Doing King Servbot into High Speed Tackle is probably my favorite gimmick in the game, though.
I really like your combos once tron gets a hit but like you mentioned, it’s hard to play her on point with assists that only extend her combos. You can try going for more unblockables with either the ankle slice + j.H or c.L + centurion rush though, right?
IMO, unblockable setups with Tron will really only work in ground tech oki situations or corner pressure - considering most characters will die in one hit anyways, and Tron’s air oki and corner pressure being really strong, the situation doesn’t come up too often. Basically any situation where you’re able to land an unblockable, a command throw would have worked as well.
My real issue was really simple - when there’s a projectile active at regular jump height, there’s not much Tron can do to get around it. So like the match with Young - Tasky is a manageable matchup with some careful play, but once Peekaboo was active, I didn’t feel like there wasn’t anything I could do. I was considering starting Nova and making use of Boulder assist, but I know my Nova wasn’t ready for Tasky… sigh.
EDIT: For convenience: they uploaded youtube archives:

Grrr ive been there, just replace Peekaboo with Akuma assist. Just try to place the most patient Tron in the world. Be like Gief vs Dhalsim, or Gold Lightan vs Saki (or would Tekkaman Blade be a better example).
After watching these, I’m wondering if there’s a way to beat lame Trishplayers (my friends do it now and Tron becomes free :(), but two things you probably know that I’d like to mention anyway:
>If you see your foes have little health, H-Bonne Strike->Lunch Rush is better than doing another King Servbot for obvious reasons (more metergain, possible free kill)
>At neutral jump height, sM is a better use to extend most of your combo starters (jBonne Strike) than a raw S, since S knocks them higher than usual and Tron might screw the combo off (not to mention more damage/meter etc)
Also, you definitely could have done more meter efficient combos (needing two assists to build 1 bar should NOT be the case), but getting a hit at all can feel like a miracle so I don’t do optimal stuff often either…
Yeah, I definitely know more optimal BnBs, but I tend not to go for them outside of the corner. I don’t really trust my own execution that much, lol. Properly timing air loops on various characters is just too tight for high pressure. Maybe once I go to a few more tournaments and can play without being a bundle of nerves.
Part of the reason is that I want the double King Servbot ender for TODs, and if the combo’s too long, the Nova + d.H link becomes much tighter if I want enough height for double King Servbot. You’re right though, I should go for them if double King would be overkill.
As for st.M vs. raw S for the combo extender, that’s also mostly for the the sake of execution leniency. I only do one sj.M in my air series so that I land closer after the spike, which puts me in range for X-23’s OTG assist to hit - if they’re knocked higher, this makes it easier. Also, if the Air drill is done a bit too high, the st.M sometimes doesn’t connect - st.S has a much taller hitbox. (I also think raw S results in more damage, but don’t quote me on that). Which is all kind of moot, because I was so paranoid of dropping combos, I went for d.H + x-23 anyways, lol.
Im an ex-Trish player (well im sorta still am), and I play one of the best Trishs around (RDK) on a regular basis. So im pretty familiar with the matchup.
If she goes to the top corner of the screen and tries to setup traps, you can use H Beacon Bomb to hit her. Tron’s j.H/j.S are big enough to reach Trish, and destroy her traps/projectiles at the same time. The trick is to keep a tab on the Trish player’s patterns. Most Trish players will do something like Hopscotch > Peekaboo > Voltage > Dive kick, if you can read that pattern you can punish really easily for free.
If she dive kicks stuff her with Gustaff Fire or Servbots.
Duly noted, thank you very much (I’ll especially practice the reaction Gustaff Fire, I feel like I don’t use this move enough). However I’d like to point out that Hopscotch (that’s the ground trap right?) comes out on hit (I would always try hail mary jMS with her and Sent and hope she didn’t set it up). Shit’s unfair as fuck. :shake:
