The Ultimate Tron Bonne Matchup and Match Videos Thread

Unless you can maneuver through the projectile patterns with Tron’s big body well, it may be better to either rely on a strong assist to help her inch in, or simply not fight it out with Tron. There are other characters that can definitely handle that sort of abuse better than Tron. As for Strider assist, there’s this video about punishing the assist. Perhaps if you want to focus more on bopping Strider, you could look into this one.

heres a match between me and another friend from a session. I was dropping alot of stuff due to the fact people were hype in the background. I would like to hear what you guys think and what i should do to get better. Thanks

One thing I can see right away is that you need to try other buttons aside from j.S. It does have its uses, but it probably won’t help with anything if that’s mainly what you do. All the opponent has to do is block or look to grab Tron. Also, not sure why, but I did see a lot of raw s.H. Not sure if you intend to use it to poke or it’s a missed input. In any case, it would be better to do a standard LMH chain for pressure and to make it easier if it confirms. Make Tron safe by canceling to Bandit Boulder after a s.M or s.H on block. Definitely get out of the habit of canceling s.H to Drill since that’s not really safe on block. I don’t think Wolverine is a character you wanna challenge too much in the air with Tron, as he’s got Divekick and option select throw. If it were me, I’d try to keep my distance a little and zone, having my assists help her then to get in and apply some pressure.

Also, try not to press a button to attack when your character is coming in (mainly saw with Nova). With someone like Wolverine, he can choose to do Berserker Slash to cross-up and it can it when you’re coming in with j.H. Of course, there could be times when pressing a button when coming in can work, but opponents can mix it up and beat that tactic. Gotta keep it fresh and keep your opponent guessing.

I play against magnetos spencers wolverines and weskers and I always get blown up. My neutral game straight sucks with tron because they like to zone me and it frustrates me to keep trying to get in hence all the j.S. My problem I feel is that I have no real ground game with tron.

If you’re having problems getting around characters like Wesker and Magneto, you can cover Doom’s beam assist with Gustaff Fire and maybe drill to close some space. In terms of blocking their mixups, you just have to be familiar with their capabilities and work on your blocking accordingly. With characters like Spencer and Wolverine, you might do a little better from a distance using Doom’s beam assist and tossing out Beacon Bombs. I think for me, Spencer would be easier to deal with. If he comes in with a grapple, you can try to go for an air grab. If he’s got a good beam assist helping him out, then be familiar with how far Spencer goes with his grapple so you can figure out the proper way to block when he’s coming in. Try not to challenge Wolverine when it comes to air grabs, as that option select grab + divekick is pretty crazy.

Hey err-body. Haven’t posted here in ages, but I’ve been finally getting around to playing much more online, getting some experience with Tron on point. Luckily my friend has been available to run quite a few sets (in a pretty lag-free environment, surprisingly). I"ll be posting a few more once I get around to uploading, so I hope you guys enjoy.

P.S. Please ignore my horrible Doom.
