in the corner the hyper grab loop builds roughly 2 bars…
I don’t think Hyper Grav loop is the optimal way to go about a corner combo anymore now that its reps got neutered. I’m working on getting the Emp combo down.
I just do the ROM in the corner. After 8 reps, I can always get 1 rep of the hyper grav loop before they fall out. Does decent damage; ~800k
Yo, shoutouts to whoever shared a tip on one of these threads (can’t remember which one) about using a designated (L+M) dash button for combos. Said sumpin about there being a delay on a H hit if you link it after adf using H+M. That got my attention, and cuz of my MvC2 control layout, L+M into H in a combo isn’t really practical.
Anyway, changed shit up, hit the lab and turns out I’m godlike. Seriously, I can do all this shit now. Hypergravl loops in the corner - used to kill me watching people just bust those out so easily… I killed myself trying to get that down before. Now? Cake, those bodies float way the fuck up now, haha. And ROM, fuck you and ur ROM, is what I used to say… I’ve got my shitty unfly combo into M-H X4
Now? In there. Haven’t put much time into it, but I can keep the bodies floating in the right air space already… and it’s fun!

I transitioned to this team as well.
I feel like it’s a really good team because all of them are amazing at any position. They can all play point, midman, and anchor well. Magneto gets his OTG assist AND rapid slash (godlike against people you wanna zone because it sends waaaay to the other side of the screen, plus a spinning knockdown so you can estaka before they fall) which also helps his advancing/pushing people to the corner.
Vergil with Wesker allows for easy Nigga-I’mma-Style-On-You shit with samurai edge + spiral swords
Magneto > Vergil DHC reminds me alot of DHC Glitching.
I may actually start Vergil/Wesker/Magneto.
Vergil/Wesker LOVE estaka assist, still good DHC options, plus lvl 3 Magneto is SO FUCKING STUPID. Honestly, he doesn’t get credit for it, but he’s one of the best anchors, period.
Even if you don’t go with lvl 3 XF Magneto (instant high low mixups you can’t see? OS air dash/throw before you can react? Shockwave? Estaka chip?), you can just do lvl 2 XF Wesker with Magneto assist, which is fucking terrifying in its own right.
Yeah, I’m running that as my serious team right now since it’s just that good. I was against it at first since I’m really bored of playing Wesker, but my other Mags team of Mag/Ammy/Doom is lacking the sheer explosiveness that Vergil/Wesker offer, at least with how well I can play the characters right now.
Samurai Edge assist actually helps Vergil alot and sets up alot of swag combos and every character on the team is a fucking nightmare in XF3. I feel that its missing an assist that can be used defensively though. Old Akuma and Sentinel assists got me out of alot of trouble but Mags EM Disruptor doesn’t disrupt effectively enough to be used as a defensive option IMO.
I’m still in the lab trying to crack his new moves though. They’re definitely really good but I feel that people are not even using it to 5% of its potential. Pulling someone into a Cold Star or Eye of Avocado is hella sick but there’s got to be more to this move than just that.
Welcome to what I go through, offline I play him a lot but online, its pointless using him because you’re gonna get salty when you cant do any of his combos.
I was noticing this last night when I played online for the first time. I had a lot of help from my internet provider though… crappy connection led to dropped Magneto combos, so I had to play lame when there was huge lag (you know the stutter animation type of lag) … I was getting upset and yelling at my wife that our internet sucks! I won my games, but damn… would have been so much easier. That and getting use to him Ultimate variant.
On a plus side, repulsion, attraction, and gravitation is too good! They can block all they want, but if I have Sent (drones), I’m going to drag your ass to me and cross you up.
So, so, so much potential its scary!

I can still rock Magneto online fine, but I can’t do anything more advanced than a standard flight loop and one or two reps of Hyper Grav loop.

I’ve had success with Vergil’s Rapid Slash assist as a defensive option. As long as I cover his startup, it’s pretty solid. I love the visual mix-up it adds as well.
But as far as something like tatsu/drones that take up enormous amounts of screen real estate for an extended period of time, no, he can’t do that. That fact has made me question this team over and over again. I thought about dropping Wesker from my main team for Doom with them delicious hidden missles (HM + repulsion =lolololololololol) but lvl 4 dark Wesker has bailed me out so many times.
Yipes said that Fanatiq is planning on dropping Magneto.

^Yeah I heard that on the 1st Umvc3 level up stream, I don’t think he will go through with it.
I’m skeptical that he’ll go through with it since he’s got this rep of MSS for life, but it’s still discouraging to hear.
Marlinpie has already stated that he’s dropping him too, so if Fanatiq ends up dropping, then both of the best Magneto players in vanilla have abandoned the character.
Granted, Marlinpie is dropping him because his assist doesn’t help Viper anymore.
Does F-Champ still use Magnus?
Sure, his isn’t as juicy or crispy as Fanatiq or Pie’s but Champs Magnus putts it in.
ShadyK probably has the next best Magneto after those two, and I think he’s going to stick with him.
Champ’s Magneto is really basic execution-wise but he’s a good enough player that it works. Last I checked, he changed his mind from Magneto being ass to Magneto being godlike after experimenting with his new moves. I don’t know if he’s gonna stay with him though since he’s been using Ghost Rider/Sentinel/Phoenix in all of the tournaments I’ve seen him in and I know he’s working on Strange tech.
Yipes said his current team of Vergil/Dante/Nova is just for fun and he’s still working on a team for Magneto.
MarlinPie dropped him and Ammy. He’s using Viper Vergil Dante, as of yesterday.
