??? Gravity Squeeze when you have a happy birthday results in no damage because it tries to grab assist character? Am i the only one this happens too?

Hello everyone, I have a question concerning the Alioune loop, this has been a problem for me since vanilla MvC 3 so I was wondering if anyone could offer an answer to it. Concerning the loop I was never able to hit anyone using H Magnetic Blast so I always just used L and it worked fine until I had to re-launch them (j. H adf H xx L magblast, land, j. H xx H magblast, land) and as I was about to do another rep of (j.H adf H xx L Magnetic Blast) they always seem to fall out of my combo as I do the blast so matter what the timing is. Could it just be that the the timing is very strict and I have to Magnetic Blast as soon as I hit H or could me using L Magnetic Blast instead of the Heavy version have any effect on this? It’s probably a dumb question but I’m not very technical when it comes to fighters, if anyone can help me that would be great.

The timing is fairly strict - I posted about that combo earlier on this thread. You do have to do the H magblast fairly quickly, IIRC the reason to use that version is its difference in startup time.

For this combo, how do you get out the s.H xx hyper grav after the last addf H? Does the fly run out or do you need to cancel the fly? I can’t seem to get the s.H to come out.

Thoughts after playing the game for about 5 hours:

Remember when an Amaterasu used Veil of Mist on you and you tried to tri-dash? That’s how new Magneto movement feels. Now when an Ammy uses that move, you feel like Haggar. Magneto is probably going to be the initial most dropped A tier out of all the A tiers in vanilla, for the sole reason that he feels so much different. It’s definitely something we can get accustomed to though.

**Comboing will make you rip off your hair for the first 40 minutes. **But after that you should be fine. I’m just using a modified fly loop right now since that’s the easiest for me and I can’t get any of my extended loops or even the Scrub old man ROM yet. jH adf jM xxfly jL jH adf Hx5 jS does around 420k.

**Attraction, Repulsion, and Gravitation make 10-0 matchups. **Against Hulk, Tron, Haggar, and pretty much anyone without a projectile, assuming you play smart. There’s alot more to this move than has been shown though and by a month, I expect alot to be developed through it. They also have alot more pull/push if the opponent is airdashing, guess Capcom took a physics class. Push/pulling someone into a Cold Star or an Eye of Avacado is tons of fun.

On day one release, I was using Magneto Sent(drones) Nemesi(Clothesline Rocket) and my bro’s team was Vergil Wesker Strider (think of this team as a more fast paced DP team that will try to maul you all day). So how I fought was like this;

Mags on point with attraction/drones for the mix up game in the beginning. This shit is ridiculous because everytime Vergil would try to come in, I’m doing sj.:l: dash under while drones hit. Then I confirm for a reset midscreen to corner ending in a dead character. That’s just for that team I fought and for others is my (please forgive me, but the name is very much appropriate) Exodia team, which is Magneto | Frank[shopping cart] | Nova[Centurion Rush].

Now with this team I can open up a guy, use standard fly loop into swag loop (45exp by that point for Frank, level wise) then either kill off the character with an extending assist and Squeeze OR hard-knockdown and raw tag into Frank for instant Lv5. By then you should have killed two characters with Frank solo combos alone. If not, then I have Nova for immediate insurance because his combos are so damaging considering how easily they be used.

In all honesty, this team feels very much like my old team in mvc2 of mags juggernaut and hayato.

I’m currently working on a consistent way to, post-combo, take the opponent off the corner over magneto’s head, using Attraction and going into Magetic Shockwave.

This shit keeps auto-correcting or giving me gravity squeezes.

Here’s a tip broseph: whenever you get the loops going in the corner make sure that when you land that you dash back xx attraction then shockwave. That way you won’t have to worry about it auto correcting bs on you.

Yeah, but that gets you like, 3 columns. I’m talking about a legit, fullscreen Shockwave. Like, the opponent gets out of the corner (now magneto is there) and you hit him with a full shockwave. I’m almost sure it’s possible.

Yeah because when you do attraction, you usually have enough time to shockwave unless the combo was too long and they tech.

Running Nova/Magneto/Sentinel for now. Nova’s trijump game is so fucking godlike.

Is it just me or is ROM in the corner a lot easier now? I feel as if the timing on the all :h: ROM is way less strict, at least with most characters I’ve done it on.

I’m actually adjusted to Magneto now. Running Magneto/Amaterasu/Doom now and although I’m amateur with both Ammy and Doom, I am loving this team. Lots of magnetism setups, Ammy is tons of fun to play, and Doom is hella fucking buff. I was running Sentinel earlier but I think he just gets bodied by alot of the new zoning tools characters got.

I actually feels pretty nice to be liberated from the standard Mags shell in vanilla of Mags/Glitcher/Sentinel or Akuma.

Haha, that’s my vanilla team, you have good taste, Din0. You feel the cold star assists works well even with the slight nerf? (I think there is a nerf to it, I just don’t know the nature of it)

Nevermind, hitstun deterioration changes the way this move must be used.

Yeah, you can really feel the HSD after converting from her assist but it’s still manageable. I’m starting to transition from fly loops to Magnetic Blast combos.

I’m also running Vergil/Wesker/Magneto since I wanna be lame and cash in on how un-nerfed Wesker is. Teleports fucking love EM Disruptor.

Magneto is absolute fucking shit tier online. Like, unplayable. Not even joking. Maybe it’s because I still have a bit of the olf timing, but I CAN’T MOVE WITH HIM.

Call me crazy but I really think the backwards-facing hitboxes of Magneto’s jump normals got buffed, i.e. it seems a lot easier to hit with j. L/M/H as crossups, I’m getting j. l to hit as a crossup on crouching characters I never have before, and j. m/h on standing characters a lot easier too. Anyone else notice this?

Maybe since it’s slower the limb gets extended more time/the hitbox actually appears? I dunno.
