Is there a certain timing for the super jump addf jH after the first Magnetic Blast? I can’t seem to catch them consistently.

What I found out is that the timing into the first Magnetic Blast is different then when you’re doing the MB Loop. In the loop you have to pause a little bit after the adf so that they fall a little bit, so that when you do the j.H xx MB the MB hits immediately. In this combo though you hit j.H as soon as you adf. So now when you cancel into MB the opponent falls for a bit before hitting it. This gives you a lot more time to hit the j.H

Also me and you are just on the same wavelength Dino :rolleyes: Both pad players, both on PSN, and I just picked up Dorm to go with Magneto and Doom.

I’m actually using Team Tokido (Mags/Doom/Phoenix) right now as well too. I feel like less of a scumbag when I use her now since everyone’s packing a Hawkeye nowadays [I’m not gonna use him cause he’s ugly as fuck].

Lol yea man its too good. I made up some sick setups but I rarely ever need to use them because 90% of people are free to Distruptor + Mass Change.

I went back to my Vanilla team I was using before last summer, Wesker/Magneto/Sentinel. Wesker benefits SO MUCH from estaka assist, plus Wesker/Magneto + Drones = Forget hard to block, this is downright NIGHTMARE MODE.

If they’re flipping out before you can :s:, that means they’re too high off the ground.

I don’t know why I’m just noticing this, but when I was online in (somehow a miracle) a lobby with a great connection I was rushing some dudes shit down in the corner (he had strider with full hp) i did Missiles sj:uf: addf j:s: qcb:s: j.:s: and he could not block that shit at all.

The fly was so close to the ground it was retarded lol I’ll have something up by the end of next week

What do you guys do in the Hawkeye matchup? This fucker is infuriating.

Oh that’s easy my man. Just condition him to do random gimlet and when you know it’s coming, then call and assist (in your case Din0, Missiles/Drone or Estaka/Missiles) and block.

Hawkeye’s recovery from Gimlet arrow super in the air is long enough for you wavedash up to him and jump :h: magblast xx herpderp. Now if he’s on the ground, then you can do the same thing, but after blocking try to chuck plasma.

I started using Dorm & Magneto and was wondering what makes Disruptor better than the other projectile assists/beams (besides the speed).

it’s most likely the spacing on the [S, sj. u/f j.H addf j.H], try to get the first j.H as soon as you superjump and the second almost immediately after the addf,

and maximize hitstun on the j. MHxx L Mag Blast, mostly between the M and H

Character size also requires some adjustments, I usually have to sj. u/f after the first launcher (the Mag Blast rep) on RR and friends and also delay the L Mag Blast a bit. On mid-big characters I prefer to just neutral jump on that first rep to avoid TK Disruptor. Oddly, Zero seems to always pop out after the third launcher, just before the S. He must have a strange hurtbox on his feet I guess…?

edit-Been trying Aerial Screw’s version and love it, but I’m a little inconsistent with the timing and spacing. Too much Marvel not enough SF I guess.

Disruptor is faster for more ambiguous left-rights and doesn’t prorate the hitstun and damage scaling as much as Plasma Beam or Unibeam. You can relaunch off of those two in the corner though.

I think Disruptor allows for relaunch in the corner too. MastaCJ confirmed off of Disruptor in the corner with his Dormammu teleport mixups IIRC. The only projectile assist I know that’s faster than Disruptor is Hawkeye’s Greyhound, but it can be ducked under by certain characters. I wanted a better anchor than Hawkeye though, so that’s why I’m trying Magneto.

Make him claustrophobic. Rush his shit down. Magneto can’t compete in a firefight if Hawkeye has an assist, which he probably will.

Remember that Hawkeye doesn’t have good mix-ups at all and a lot of what he does is very unsafe at close range. If you’re close, he can’t harass you with arrows and he can’t really get you off him without throwing out a Gimlet, which he won’t do, because it’s -8 ON HIT.

And how about the Zero matchup? I thought the Buster nerf was enough to keep his ridiculous BS off, but his Buster xx 623L makes it the same, can confirm that into death for most of the cast with assist like Vergil or Dante. Zoning with disruptors is not enough so maybe drones? missiles? repulsion is risky I guess.

Some people say lame him out but you’re just asking for endless mixups, and if you rush him, well you’re trying to rush a walking hitbox. What’s the best strat?

Run away and pray that you don’t get hit by his outrageous hitboxes. Rain magnetic blasts on him. If you catch a foolish zero rushing in, you can easily hit confirm off a magnetic blast into TOD combo. Use TK disruptors + assist to keep him away. If he gets too close for comfort, just throw out a shockwave and he’s back to the other side of the screen.

He’s vulnerable throughout his entire command dash, so just throw/air throw it when he gets close, if he’s dumb enough to do it without cover. Most Zeros are going to be constantly charging buster with :l: so their fastest attack is going to be his :m:, which is a few frames slower than Magneto’s c.:l:. It’s certainly possible to rush him down because of this, but against a good Zero, that’ll be tough because he’ll be aware that his fastest normal is 8 frames, whereas everyone else’s fastest is usually around 4-6 frames so he’ll probably make it pretty tough for you.
