god damn it’s been that fuckin long?? lol
Hey guys, anyone know how Akbar is auto-correcting his sj.S after crossing up with air plink dashes?
He does it a lot in his neutral with plasma beam, starts doing it in this video at around 2:35.
The only way I’ve found to turn around like that is by cancelling the start up of mag blast (to change sides) to a dash down +S, but I dont find it to be consistant for me. Is there another method, maybe a bit more practical?
Any help is much appreciated
It’s the legendary “4 corners/turn around glitch” lol see below. Honestly it is really helpful. I wish I could figure out if I’m doing it correctly when I try it in practice mode.
Looking back at your post it looks like you’re doing it the right way. But I’m with you; it just doesn’t seem very consistent for me. Maybe we just need to practice.
For those of you who play on pad: how do you (if you do) option select throws while going for tri dash lights?
Yeah turnaround glitch is just Blast xx addf or add + a normal. Just do Blast motion, addf, +:h:, :s:.
Vary the Blast motion to get your desired direction (:u: :uf: :f: :df: for addf, :u: :uf: :f: :df: :d: for add) The method is very consistent.
Option select throw on pad: I just use OBD + :h: to tridash.
I use obd m+h too. But how does that OS a throw?
Thanks for the help guys! Guess I just need more practice because plink dashing is hard enough for me (no Schmidt select here) so to transition from plinking to a reverse mag blast add S. This is however too godlike to pass up so I must practice.
To the hyperbolic time chamber!
The addf counts as a tech input. I’m starting to think I misunderstood you. By OS throw, do you mean you automatically tech if your opponent tries to air grab when you jump up for a tridash? Or do you mean you OS tridash light into throw if the light whiffs? Because I was referring to the first one.
The latter.
You can try tridash L, immediate forward+H, then cL into whatever. If the tridash L whiffs, like if you do the tridash too low, you’ll land immediately and the forward+H throws the opponent. If the tridash L hits or gets blocked, the forward+H should come out as whiffed air H. The cL into whatever is a filler to help you hit confirm the tridash L.
I labbed this just now, so it’s very bare-bones, sorry. Try looking at some of the other threads here, see if you can find something.
Sup folks. Looking to make a new 2nd unit with Magnus cuz I love some Magnus. My new main is Nova Doom Vergil so I’d like advice on if I should just do Magneto Doom Vergil, Magneto Doom Sentinel or Magneto Vergil Doom?? Opinions, advice, tips,Help
Can someone explain why the following works?
Vergil incoming and chooses to super in the air.
On the other side is Magneto and he does attraction into Super without getting hit by swords, thus getting a free confirm.
I’m not complaining, I just don’t understand the logical side of it.
Wow I think I just had an orgasm. If this is legit his gravity moves and the resulting glitches/resets are starting to become his derp. No more “fairneto”!
So vergil is coming on to the screen and goes for yolo super and Mags gets to fuck him for free?
If you want to play point Magnus, I guess Magneto/Doom/Sent does the job. Watch RayRay for MDS. Mag/Vergil/Doom and Mag/Doom/Vergil are cheaper though. MVD is good if you aren’t comfortable with TAC infinites. MDV is good if you are comfortable with TAC infinites and you get anchor Vergil.
Attraction xx Shockwave on reaction to Dimension Slash? Dimension Slash doesn’t have that much durability so Shockwave should beat it. I think a visual demonstration would help though.
Allright, I need help. I need a blueprint/roadmap for my team - Wesker (gunshot)/Dante (Weasel)/Magnus(Dis) and Dante/Wesker/Magnus.
I quit this game for a few years and had a ton of tech and a great approach I was developing until I stopped playing. Now, getting back into things, I’ve had a hard time finding what my focus should be, considering the meta has changed so much. While the team has okay synergy - it’s pretty much garbage in a bracket unless I can maximize it. In terms of damage in particular. Only starting Wesker can I even get to 900k with two meters. It has reset potential with unblockables and a strong neutral with Magnus beam, but if I can’t consistently kill people, it feels worthless.
I need guidance. I need good incoming setups ideas, combo ideas, neutral ideas - whatever you can give me.
Also, I need some help with using Jam Session. Never really considered using it until now. I need good confirms with Magnus and Wesker using this Assist so I can add some depth to my team.
I know this post is a bit unfocused but that’s mostly a reflection of how lost I feel right now. Any help will be appreciated.
I very much like playing xxx yyy Magnus where x and y are some combination of Wesker, Dante, Vergil, and Dorm. For the purpose of sheer power, I recommend you consider Vergil or Dorm for y, but I know that’s not what you were asking, just throwin’ it out there.
I’m not the best to ask as far as combo maximizing, but I can give you some help regarding the air Jam Session confirm. Long ago I was taught to use jLS xx addf, jL on the way down, land, sL into whatever. But then more recently I realized that a simple jMH xx L-Blast is way easier and way more reliable (just do to the ease), especially off of Jam Session (as opposed to just an air to air confirm).
For Wesker, his air to air is jLHS or jHS, for both you want an ever-so-slight delay between the H and S. All 4 of those chars (your Wesk and 'te, and Dorm ‘n’ Vergil if you do decide to dabble) have really excellent left/right mixup setups, and are the reason I love playing these Mag anchored theme teams. I’m gonna assume you already have a good idea what those setups look like, so I won’t post em for that reason, and the fact this post is already a bit long. If my assumption is wrong, though, lemme know and I (and/or other posters) am happy to oblige. Recommend checking out vids of top players running like-themed squads. Yipes in particular has as nice chunk of material out there running Wesker Dante Mag exactly. In particular there’s a really long set where he beats up Bum pretty bad w/ it, as well as another vid that was released on the same day against another guy. I forget who, but believe it was NYC Fab?
At this point those vids are kinda old, but you won’t be doing yourself any harm by using them as reference material.
I think some of the regulars on the op have some footage of a similar team
Could you add more details? This is interesting, but I messed around in training mode and couldn’t replicate it. I tried doing attraction xx super on reaction to the super flash as Vergil comes in from the other side of the screen and pre-emptively doing attraction then cancelling the startup into super as Vergil supers, and at different distances, and I haven’t gotten it to work.
I dab in this team sometimes but with Weasel over Jam Session.
For combos, you don’t need to look further than this video by EvilWenster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8li59l55os
Don’t know about Wesker/JS but with Magneto/JS you can do a basic air to air hit confirm off of it like jH addf jH njHS addf jH land and launch into combo, but if they’re a higher height you’re gonna need to adjust your timing or use a different hitconfirm like jHS addf JS land into launcher.
Din0, I was wondering what some of your fav ways to call Jam Session w/ Mag in neutral might be. Either on the ground to setup a lockdown, or while flyin around a la Kbeast. Anything, really. I’ve been running almost only Mag Doom Ammy lately, and really love the Cold Star. But I know for a fact Jam is as good or better for Magzy, wanted to ask for any specifics you could offer to mess around with and see if I don’t prefer JS.
One definite situation I’d hope you mention is when you’re in close and press a normal + JS. Which button or buttons do you think leads to the smoothest continuation of the attack? sH, cM, rapid shorts, etc?
For Cold Star there doesn’t really seem to be any such sequence that they can’t squeeze in a jump from, but it’s still good enough overall that Im not too worried about that. Cold Star Mag is just SO frickin fun. I’ll bet JS Mag is too. (ive used it before, but never had an expert explain the specifics of how to make it as cheap as possible)
