The Ultimate Magnus Thread. The godlike stuff

the last team seems to be the best one, to me. Nice DHCs all over, Mag+Jam, Storm+Jam, storm throw > dante raw tag unscaled combos, Very likely to have a throw tod at the start of the round and it has the most capable anchor of the teams you suggested.

And a second character with a solid TAC infinite (storm)
Dante’s TAC infinite is not very good, but he gets ok meter from a TAC > Million Dollars and you can just end it with Hailstorm DHC for solid damage. That should do a bit over 900k, I THINK, not sure. Even just ending a storm combo with Hailstorm xx Million Dollars is strong.

point dante on that team seems p retty sick as well. spend three bars > DT from tempest to ice storm and combo

Stupid question but after you get the throw how do you start the loop? Do you have to launch and then go into it? I haven’t been able to do the loop from a throw using a standing H or a hyper grav.

Before i forget this fucking combo:

Throw > Whirlwind + boxdash Blast :l: [land] boxdash j.:m::s: > cr. :m::h::s: > sj.:h: xx add j.:h: [land] st.:h: > HGL x5 > sj.:h::s: > st.:h: + Jam Session > :s: xx TK :h: HyperGrav xx Tempest > Hailstorm > Million Dollars.

1.010dmg, builds 2 bars and change, spends 3.

EDIT: Also, I lied, the storm > dante tag after throw is not unscaled, but it’s better than nothing.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll give that team a go then. I’m not sure how I feel about Storm not having access to a horizontal assist but we’ll see how it goes.

Also: I would think Doom could combo off of Storm tagging after a throw too?

You can start and end the loops in the corner in one of four ways;

1: launch into j :h: add hg :l: into 8 reps of HG loop ending in whatever assist…
2: magic series into one rep of rom into into seven reps of HG loop ending in whatever assist…
3: raw hyper grav into 8 reps of HG loop ending in whatever assist…
4: raw hyper grav into 8 reps of HG loop into raw tag

in case you need a reference. let us know what teams you play so that we might be able to help you with more in depth stuff

If Storm’s airthrow is close to the ground yeah.

you could also use weasel shot in place of jam session

so ive seen some video of magneto players super jumping up, crossing up, making him turn around and face the opponent while coming down with a heavy or an S. how in the world are people doing that? i know when you cross up with magnetic blast it makes him face the opponent but i dont hear or see any start up.

jump over> when you’re over them, do the magnetic blast motion towards the opponent and finish it at down back+ 2 attacks.

so, 896321 motion ( for airdash downback) + 2 simultaneous buttons will make him turn and dash, then you just input L or S for the attack.

just know that this is very hard to apply mid match.

Any advantages in using weasel shot over picking Ammy and using cold star?

Ah okay thanks!

its broken down here from 1:52 in the guide

Thanks. I’m learning Mag/Skrull (grudge)/Sentinel and Mag/Doom (missiles)/Ammy (cold star)

For some reason whenever I try to get a raw hyper grav to connect from a throw it doesn’t work–but clearly that’s what’s happening in the videos you posted. I need to work on it more.

Here’s an unrelated query for you guys. What do you think of MC-Xray and his Magneto? He’s interesting in that he doesn’t do almost any of the really high level Magneto stuff like ROM, Mag blast loops, or even the traditional hyper grav loop (he does the adf medium one). However, his strategy and application of Magneto’s strengths are excellent. He hung toe to toe with PR Rog at Hadocon and I’ve seen vids of him taking out ZeroMayCry teams without much trouble all things considered. I feel like he’s a good template for someone like me who’s looking to learn Magneto but doesn’t ever see themselves hitting that RayRay or Joker type execution. He doesn’t get enough recognition for his Magneto.

X-Ray is very solid, but like most of Norcal he chokes during tournaments.

Honestly you dont need to do anything fancy with magneto. Hes a sandbox character you can play however you want to. Optimising combos with him is the last thing you need to learn to play him tbh.

i’ve changed the team order at this point in time from morrigan/storm for storm/morrigan for reasons such as a better cover for astral vision ( 3 bar dhc into Av while ice storm and set up some high/low and left/rights as well as some potential hard to blockables when the ice shards are still out),but i just wanted to know how much damage i can get out of this magneto combo.

reason i ask such a question as this is because i haven’t been able to touch my game in weeks and i still have good hopes and some sweet ideas for this particular team since i’ve got all my stuff down with my other magneto teams.

Need help with my hyper grav loop, he always falls out before I can loop it and also its odd because I can manage to do it but only while in xfactor :(… Please watch teh whole video I need help :frowning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEViqThfEww&feature=youtu.be
