I’ve actually begun using the fraud ROM in combos and air to air situations
j.,j.:h: PAUSE addf :h: x5 if air to air, you can do anywhere from 2-4 reps in combo depending on your combo
edit: If you’re doing it for air to air, you’re going to end up starting it with :l: or :h: (attempted throw/tech outside of range will land hits for you), in which case you’re going to have to manage their height to do the fraud ROM. You can certainly do Fanatiq’s j.:h:, j.:s: addf :h:, land, c.:h: (or s.:l:) :s: but I’ve found it difficult to combo after this sometimes if you catch them at very awkward positions.
If you end up air to airing with :h: PAUSE FOR HIT CONFIRM addf :h:, the 2nd rep may need to be j.:l:, j:h: addf :h: then proceed into the regular fraud ROM. It does decent damage too, ~450k meterless and it sets you up for nasty mix-ups if you don’t have the meter for a TOD
Agreed. Ton of damage but it’s too wonky for me to try using in a real match. It’s like the ROM right now; sure you can do it in training mode but are you really going to risk getting estaka instead of sjuf? I mean, unless you’re marlinpie
I remember watching Fanatiq do it on his stream one night, and he went in depth on why the new ROM is way easier on pad and how on stick, you’ll end up rolling the motion 99% of the time… I forgot the exact reason but he was busting out 7-8 reps consistently
Yo a guy who moved from ohio to my hometown of wilmington, nc named Limbo came to my house last night and played me in a set of 100 in UMvC3.
Shit was gdlk because he was the guy who got perfected by ryry that one time at evo and mm’d OMG ITz Andre at season’s beatings iirc and while playing him I learned a lot about wesker, and blocking LOL

Because of the added pushback on j.H, you need to SJ.Forward instead of neutral or back like Vanilla. it’s still all j.H, but that change makes it a bit harder and makes you get TK disruptor a lot.
You can always do the sj.M xx addf > j.H version, but it’s a lot less reps.
IMO new ROM doesn’t seem worth it. Sure it does good damage, builds meter, and carries corner to corner but there are plenty of other Magneto combos with similar results that are much less demanding on execution. The new ROM is certainly feasible, but like Kanta-Kun said, you’re gonna get TK estaka instead of sjuf :h: A LOT.
Even superjumping from :df: to :uf: still gives you disruptor sometimes

Top tier - Amaterasu’s Cold Star, Ryu/Akuma’s Tatsu, Vergil’s Rapist Slash, Dante’s Weasel Shot, Dr. Strange’s Eye of Avacado/Bolts of Ballsack
High tier - Wesker’s Samurai Edge, Nova’s Centurion Rush (or whatever it’s called)
I’ve been trying to drop Sentinel because he has bad matchups against, well, everyone that people play but I can’t find anything as good as Drones. Sure there are excellent assists for Magneto but nothing replaces dem drones.
Sentinel can stand his own fine, just not against magneto, wesker, storm, amaterasu, zero, nova, vergil, dante, wolverine, dormammu, strange, morrigan… yeah.
If there was an assist as good as his, I’d probably be on that shit (I’ve considered Akuma tatsu, but I don’t like playing him and I have troubled converting off of tatsu)
Dr. Strange’s Bolts of Balsomethingicantspell should be top tier as well. It’s about the closest thing to drones there is but it also means you have to run Dr. Strange…which isn’t a bad thing but I’ve been using him for a few days and my god this is the most difficult character I’ve ever used in MVC3.
I’ve been wanting to drop Sentinel for the last half a year but really nothing is AS good as drones. Drones makes Magneto twice as scary as he’s supposed to be.
The thing I don’t like about Bolts of Ballsack is that yes, it does cut them off from a large portion of the screen, but most of the cast can crouch and even stand right under it. One of the reasons I love Drones so much is that they cannot press ANYTHING or they’ll eat a drone and a subsequent combo. Bolts of Ballsack is going to stop someone from escaping your pressure by jumping away but it won’t stop them from mashing c.:l:
Man, I can’t play Magneto high. I tried playing him blazed one time. 2 of my friends and I were blitzed out of our skulls and we were playing with our friend, one of their brothers, who was sober. I got a combo into launch and I did :h: pause :s: and he was like “HAHHAHAHA what the fuck was that?” then I landed and I stood there for like a quarter second, trying to remember my combos then I’m like wait, I can do shockwave! Ever since that time, I’ve only played Hulk/Super Skrull/Sentinel while high, or the Three Kings, Thor/Hulk/Sentinel.
