Instead of doing uwt you can just h webthrow and they will aduf right into your webthrow

What do you mean by this?

He means that if your opponent knows that you are going to do a UWT reset, you can stay one step ahead of them by catching them with a :h: web throw/ :h: spider-sting. It’s not guaranteed obviously, but it would be useful in long sets.

How do you set up this “inescapable” UWT with Spd/Doom/Ammy?

It’s a DHC from Ammy to Spidey. Just do an Ammy bnb into ground bounce, st.m -> Vale of Mist -> UWT. Since the opponent is slowed, they can’t dash out of it or attempt to mash out either. Only invincible air hypers can escape.

Edit: While it is a cool piece of tech, it’s not often you get to use it since Ammy’s in the back. If someone were willing to make a Spidey team with Ammy 2nd they’d use it more, but that’s obviously not a very good idea.

Yeah, I figured it’d be like that. Quite close to useless though since you won’t be able to intentionally set it up unless you’d want to gimp your team order. Also, Vale of Mist has 20+1 start up and UWT isn’t instant after a DHC so mobile characters can still escape. I’d say you’d be able to catch about the same characters whether you’re doing the VoM DHC or some other hard to escape set up and that’s without having to gimp your team.

It’s not possible to tech forward and throw spidey out of the the UWT?

It’s very possible, I do it most the time on reaction really. UWT really is bad in terms of trying to use it for resets.

No, when timed right you cannot escape from Vale -> UWT with any form of movement. The startup on VoM is necessary because the opponent doesn’t pop out immediately after st.m and UWT when done too early will miss as the opponent pops out. And Xero the opponent doesn’t get close enough to Spidey to throw after Vale of Mist. Essentially all the problems that arise with other UWT setups don’t apply to this one since the opponent can’t get there fast enough. You can try it yourself, I’ve tested it many times against the whole cast and it indeed is inescapable for all but 3 characters. The only problem with it is what I and Raoh were saying about team order.

Edit: One more thing about UWT setups. The most effective setup I’ve used that doesn’t involve a DHC is a simple web throw to corner -> backdash H -> UWT. It’s only inescapable for characters with no aerial mobility, but it puts Spidey at maximum range so that they can’t throw or hit him and it’s good to have for problem characters like Vergil or Wolverine.

You would have to post a transcript for one to test.

Ok, sample combo starting with Ammy:

cr.m xx st.h xx f.h(x5) xx S(super jump) -> j.m(x2) xx j.h(x3) xx qcf.h -> (land) st.m xx Vale of Mist -> (DHC) UWT.

Might work midscreen also, but I didn’t test midscreen very much (I was testing on Nova at the time, who has a slower than normal diagonal dash). If you can find a way to hit Spidey out of that I’ll be suprised, but even so this is the most basic level of the setup and I think it can be made much tighter than this.

Hey guys need some team suggestions. Spidey has always been one of my favorite characters but stayed away from him because of execution( i run team big bodies). I know most people suggest Dante and Doom, but I find Doom very boring to play as and I can’t use Dante for ****. I was thinking running Spidey/Akuma/Sent? Is drones a good neutral assist for Spidey though? I feel it is a lot like missiles and Spidey can’t protect Sent that well. If that team doesn’t work…

Some other characters I use from best to worst
Hulk
Haggar
Arthur
Wolvie
Cap
Hawkeye
Deadpool
Nemmy
Ironman
Chris

Drones is still a decent neutral but you will have to keep your assist calls smart and safe.

I’ll test it later this week when I have time. That sounds very escapable though.

You could run Spidey Hulk (anti air) Iron Man (unibeam), I honestly wouldn’t recommend putting any of those characters on anchor with the exception of Arthur and Hawkeye but that’s me.

Yeah, Sent is a huge target and unlike missiles drones go away when he’s hit. Out of those characters you listed some possible decent teams could be:

Spidey/Haggar(a)/Arthur(b)
Spidey/Haggar(a)/Ironman(a)
Spidey/Haggar(a)/Chris(b)
Spidey/Hulk(b)/Ironman(a)
Spidey/Hulk(b)/Hawkeye(a)

I left out assists for Spidey since they’re all generally bad and have situational effectiveness(On most teams I opt for Spider Sting since it gives the invincible CC). Every one of these teams has its own faults, but if you love the team and practice enough you could easily do work with them.

I’ve been trying to decide on my team for a really long time now and I decided on Spider-Man/Iron-Man/?
I need some help with the third character. I really want Wesker because he is my favorite Capcom character, but he doesn’t really add anything to Spidey or Tony, except that he is a good XF3 anchor. What characters would help this team?

Xero senpai didin’t noticed me T_T

I used to run a couple Spidey/Tony teams. They were:

Spidey(y)/Tony(b)/Doom(b)
Spidey(y)/Tony(b)/Hawkeye(a)
Spidey(y)/Tony(b)/Sentinel(a)
Spidey(y)/Tony(b)/Strider(y)

As you can see, I’ve played A TON of Spidey teams(mostly to get a better understanding of what Spidey needs, but also 'cause I run into character crises a lot). I can tell you that the most success you’ll probably get is from either adding Doom or Strider, and the team with Strider takes a lot more work to get all the conversions down. For any of the teams, I suggest you learn Tony’s TAC infinite(it’s imo the easiest one next to the Magneto one), as it helps you get kills from throws and enough meter to set up the UWT guard break with Tony(keep in mind there’s an easy way the opponent can mess you up on this through mashing or feinting pushblock, but they’re likely not to know unless they play Spidey themselves). Test out some of those and see what you think.

Doom and Dante would be your best picks. They’re both really solid team fillers - decent anchor, safe DHC, raw tags combos, etc. If you like neither, you have Sent, Strange or Tasky.

You’d be missing out on damage if you keep Wesker on your team but if you want him and IM, I suggest you run Spi/Wesk/IM, that way you get a semi-safe DHC tag and when you lose on the first hit, you get Wesk + unibeam which is quite decent.

Would X-23 work well with Spidey? Is there any synergy between them? I know she’s not that bad with Tony.
If X-23 doesn’t work I’ll probably pick up either Doom or Hawkeye
