You can but if you do that, you can’t get the double TAC because of assist recovery. You can still do a TAC after though after you add some inputs but if you have Hawkeye second, you’re going to tag your anchor in instead.

Yeah I understand what you are saying, but how exactly are you going to do the Double TAC if you already use the air dash?

Is this for the OTG missiles? Just call missiles a bit earlier.

No I’m talking about when you launch them but arrows hit them right away, keeping them around normal jump height.

Oh alright that makes more sense. Sounds pretty cool. I wonder if you can do that with the majority of beam assists in the game.

You have to input assist calls at different time. I tried and it seems that triple arrow is the only one which hit at the exact time if you call it as you press :h:. Disruptor does hit but it doesn’t have enough hit stun to hold the opponent. Both black hole and unibeam are good but you have to call them before c:h: to get them to hit (s:m:+bh c:h: :s:). I haven’t tried plasma beam but it should probably be the same as bh and unibeam.

This should be in the combo thread I think. Haha. I posted the idea a few days ago but it seems that no one followed up on it.

yeah plasma beam is too slow, I couldn’t get it after a spider-bite so I just assumed that there wouldn’t be a time in a match where you would be able to pull it off with plasma beam. Maybe after a web throw into the corner.

I’ve been trying to get back into this game after a long period in the Diablo 3 vortex. One of the first teams I tried to start with was Spidey/Skrull (OTG)/ Doom (Beam) because I came to the conclusion a long time ago that Spidey needs a beam assist to have a chance against Morrigan/missiles and I was trying to stick to the Spidey/Combo Extend/Neutral assist build. Hasn’t really been working out but I did learn 1 thing: Jump air H web ball XX zip XX Call Doom Beam ~Air L Web ball puts a lot of durability on the screen from good angles that forces even, say Magneto with Doom Beam to come at you. I’m pretty addicted to having Doom Beam for my Spidey.

Now I’m seriously thinking of going to Spidey/Doom(Beam)/Dante (Jam Session) two neutral assists, but it just might be what my Spidey needs (plus Chrisis was swearing by Doom+ Jam Session in the tier thread and Dante is a better anchor than Doom). Would that mean that I would have to rely on Doom TAC combos if I want to kill in 1 touch off a Spider sting?

Any advice/thoughts/combos I should be practicing would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just do hard tag combos with Dante. Search for Otavio’s videos and you’ll see what I mean. I’m pretty sure you can also pull off corner web throw setups with jam session for getting tag ins when you catch your opponents midscreen. You can add that to the TAC stuff you can pull off.

So lately I have been messing around with Spidey/Thor(a)/Dante(y) and I really like it. There is a lot of tech to be found with this team. Weasel Shot gives Thor a decent horizontal assist as well as a lock down for stuff. Also Thor to Dante DHC options are pretty damn cool. Spidey can still have hard tag to Dante still if you really want to(Thor can also hardtag to Dante as well). Also both Weasel shot and Mighty Spark give spidey an extension at the end of lengthy combos as well as 800k bnbs with either. Also similar to Abegen you can go Thor grab super to Spidey air super get a combo off of it in the corner against a lot of characters. I am going to mess around with this team and see what I can come up with/ I need to find some hard hitting solo Thor combos though.

I like jam session with that team since it’s a good shield for Thor when charging air mighty strike, I think it also gives you a free command grab after it pushes your opponent. Weasel shot and spark is a bit redundant, so just extend combos with raw tags as long as you have Dante there. Try to learn Thor TACs too, they’re pretty good and allow you to abuse Spidey’s fake TAC reset.

I guess my reasoning for both is to have a decent neutral game with Thor after Spidey dies. Once Spidey dies. Thor+Jam Session seems really easy to get away from(I already have that problem with Spidey. Besides, Might Spark extends my combos imo better than mighty smash(which can’t really be done if you already used your ground bounce).

Hey BSide, I was wunderin if ya ever switch up yer assists (say to Doom beam) to deal with certain matchups ?

Ive seen ya sub in Dorm for Wesker, but I dont recall seeing u use beam ?

It’s weird that you find jam session easy to get away from considering that its hit box is really good and that it’s what Thor needs for setting up mighty strikes and command grabs. I think you prefer a rushdown playstyle, doing triangle dash :l:s with weasel shot.

That is probably it. I guess I like having an assist that can help close the gap horizontally. It seems in my experience that zoning teams always tag Dante with a beam or otherwise making the assist much less useful. But I will give it a try at least.
