The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread

ok so im building a spidey team and i want some feed back on what might be my flaws and strengths with my team here is the order spidey/doom/ammy… from what i know now i have air lock down with missles and mix up/ lock down with ammy coldstar and when spidey dies doom can go with ammy pretty good and when i have 2 bars team supers are cheap… now can someone tell me what i should be in the lab doing and if this is a good team decision

or should i just try spidey/iron man/doom assist DOOM, missles Iron man Beam

Ironman is just straight up bad so I wouldn’t suggest it

If you’re gonna run Iron Man, ya gotta run Repulsor Blast. That assist is so stupid good that it practically redeems him.

i was thinking that to but i keep getting told that i need a beam if i want to move in for the rush…im also thinking about taskmasker for the dhc and the arrows assist on the ground for spidey rush

you don’t actually need a beam but I believe that Spidey benefits the most from a proyectile that keeps the opponent standing such as Chris guns, Hawkeye and Task Arrows, Unibeam, etc because spidey’s combos are very height sensitive. Another good option are lockdown assists that keep also the opponent standing like Ammy coldstar or the one I use for my team and its very effective: Frank’s shopping cart.

You don’t necessarily need a beam assist to rush down. Spiderman doesn’t have a strong left/right mixup game so the importance of a beam assist with him is generally overstated. As long as you have anything that can give horizontal or vertical control and cause decent block stun it should work fine.

So, I have just started to mess around with Modok/Spidey for fun and have found some interesting synergy between them. I’ve been a big convert to using Task arrows for Modok recently and I was curious if anyone with more experience with Spidey had any input on arrows as an assist for Spidey.

I’d assume they are at least decent for him, but I know so little of Spidey, I don’t really know what he looks for in an optimal neutral game assist.

it’s fine. you won’t have great air control but it’s good ground control.

I actually don’t play Doom anymore, so I really need to update my avatar. One of the reasons that I am even considering spiderman is because I find Task arrows to be far more useful to modok than missiles. So I was hoping to run someone second that would get a lot out of Task arrows as a primary assist. And after a little messing around with Spiderman in the second slot, I found some tech with him that actually seems worth considering. I just know that Spiderman normally is not worth running second, and largely seems to want missiles for these web throw combos/resets.

Given the tech I found actually benefits from Spiderman being in the second slot, it just made me wonder if running arrows behind Spiderman would be gimping him compared to another assist… and by another assist, I mean missiles.

No it wouldn’t. Honestly when you pair Spidey with MODOK you can be quite deadly in the corner with both his sheild assist and Taskmasters triple arrows while still scoring up to 800k. Just practice with your team.

I was actually planning on using the bomb assist over the shield for this team because it otg’s and causes massive hitstun decay, which seems good for a character like spidey that excels at setups with his web throw hyper. What really has me interested in running Spidey second is that it gives Modok some very tricky DHC resets and meterless unblockable air throw resets in the corner.

Hey guys any thoughts on Spidey/Spencer synergy? Spencer is the only character I really like in this game but I’ve recently found a love for spidey (shout out to Xero’s recent reset vid). I already have a grasp on doom for the web head but I can’t see any real way to make Spencer work for him T_T any input would be a huge help.

I didn’t know bomb OTGs. I honestly haven’t invested in all the assist like I did in Vanilla. I can see uses with bomb though but not for UWT resets.

Glad you enjoyed the video, as for Spidey/Spencer I think you’d do a lot better if you had Doom on plasma beam as Spidey still have stuff off of it plus it’ll help Spencer a lot more since you’d be sacrificing the horizontal coverage he uses to get in. I understand how strong missiles are for Spencer as well but most Spencer teams also have that horizontal coverage as well as missiles.

Yeah, the bomb will OTG as an assist. It has completely different properties in assist for compared to when Dok uses it on point. On point it is soft knockdown, low durability, and won’t OTG. As an assist, it has no knockdown, scales hitstun heavily, has infinite durability, and will otg.

Just one of those strange discrepancies of the game. How come you think it would not be good for Web throw resets?

I guess I was referring to both, I just didn’t really specify that.

How does spidey work with Strange? can he use Bolts to extend combos? or will he simply use it to get in?

The reason I am asking is because I want to run a Spidey, Thor, Strange team and accomplish the same combos like in the video below which has arthur in place of strange.
