The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread

I actually have been running Spidey(y)/Dante(a)/Doctor Doom(B) for some time now. Hard tags to Dante after spideys corner to corner bnb with missiles allows Dante to do combos that get a full extra meter. In addition you can end from million dollars into crawler assault and provided you got in raw( like air throw or they got snagged by a web throw, etc) you can call Dante jam session and web zip otg to another web throw or just attack them with a standing H depending on who it would kill or if you want the next character to come in on the corner(also provided you used Dante’s lvl 2 stinger to take the wall bounce so Crawler Assault just keeps them in the corner at the end.+ I actually want to make a team synergy video for this team as I have now come up with several hardtag combos with Dante that do decent damage(enough to kill Taskmaster and Nemesis and remain with neutral meter gain afterwards) and build a ton of meter. Also Dante benefits from Spider-sting uniquely as it extends combos from volcano(see Raoh’s video). Dante with missiles is great for zoning as well and can create some sick resets as well(not to mention combo extensions that can build straight up 2 meters in one combo) this team builds meter like none other with Spidey imo.

Apart from that team and how awesome it is, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on an alt team I wanna work on. I would love to try out Spidey/Doom/Trish and was wondering what advice(synergy, Best trish assist for team, combos with trish involved)people could think of. I like Low Voltage as it gives Spidey horizontal coverage. I know Spidey doesn’t really need horizontal coverage so if anyone could think of a useful way to utilize either of her other assists that would be nice.

Spidey/Dorm/Doom-b and Spidey/Dorm/Mags-a are both Dorm teams with Spidey on point. The reason missiles, at least for me anyways, are chosen instead of beam is because one missiles can fill multiple roles and I find it redundant to have two horizontal assist. I’ve just always chosen my teams that way. The benefit to having missiles is the extra raw damage you get from them depending on how far you’re willing to take Spidey. Spidey/Dorm/Doom with hit confirms and all can get 700- 800K raw damage if I remember right, I’ll test this later, but still build more than enough meter to sit on as one regular reset would be enough to kill off all the cast. Even with the hit confirms and the assist that help Spidey get in as a substitute for Dorm Spidey can still rack up damage by simply having Doom’s missiles thanks to the fact all of Spidey’s decent combos corner carry and he can crossup into the corner for an extra web throw then keep doing it a few more times for extra stings and web throws that all have special properties which allow these shenanigans in the first place. If the name of the game wasn’t “don’t get touched” and the game was more reset heavy like it’s predecessor then I would choose Plasma Beam over missiles as it is the better assist for getting in and stopping bullshit assist, hell I still use it to counter pick. Overall though it’s mostly for the damage, Spidey shouldn’t be just calling missiles anyways as he has no chip worthy specials and his projectiles have horrible start up. If you must call missiles I’d do it when you already have them locked and they have to sit there blocking the zip cancel shenanigans aka do it in the corner when they are blocking and can’t cleanly counter

What are some good teams to build with Spidey using Phoenix Wright, Zero, Iron Man, Iron Fist, and Nova? Right now I’m running Spidey/Zero/Iron Fist. How well does this team work out? I could also use some advice on team order and assists…

i really want to have spidey on my team, is he not viable at all?

Alright, so after getting some help on the general team-building thread, I’m now running Spidey/Iron Fist/Iron Man. I was thinking of moving Iron Man to second slot, but I’m not sure who to use as anchor. Any suggestions?

The only assist I see that could make IM look good is Sent drones.

Any thoughts on Spidey(Web Ball)/ Doom (missles)/ Ammy (Cold Star) ?

It’s like Spidey, Dorm and Doom. It’s solid but it lacks a good neutral game. I’d like to learn it though but Ammy requires some time to get used to.

Would Doom on Plasma Beam make more sense? Or would switching Magneto in (For Spidey/ Mag/ Doom) be the better choice?

Plasma Beam is hella better for Spidey in almost every way possible (except damage…slightly), but Missiles make Dormammu hella good. It really depends on how you would want to run your team for the assist that you should pick; if your team is based around exploiting the amazing synergy between Spidey and Dorm, then I’d suggest Plasma Beam since it benefits Spidey more in the overall perspective of things. If you want to play a more defensive-style game, where you’re filling the screen of with webby goodness and missiles and prepping for the infamous onslaught that is known as Dorm and missiles, then Missiles would clearly be your pick.

It is possible to play Spidey Mag Doom or Spidey Doom Mag, granting you the ability to run Missiles and Disruptor, or whatever combination of assists your heart desires, but be forewarned that you’ll need to condition yourself on how to pick up off of Disruptor, since it’s not an easy feat from the get go.

picking up off plasma beam [since you’re using it for neutral] also yields pretty low damage, so if you’re going with plasma beam then have reset setups up your sleeve. same goes for every assist that hits a lot of times really.
missiles do complement spidey’s keepaway game pretty well.

I’d rather have Mag + Missiles than Dorm + plasma. Spidey doesn’t have a fast projectile to make the most out of the plasma beam. The beam also scales your damage horribly and floats your opponent which makes your pick up not only do less damage as mentioned by phantasy, but also makes your combo follow up shorter. Same could be said with EMD but that comes out fast and has fewer hits, netting you more damage. Mag + Doom missiles is also a really solid shell, same with Dorm + Doom but without missiles, this shell isn’t as dirty as it should be.

you could realistically choose 1 of the following: dorm doom mag

and just have sentinel (second for incoming escapes, third for pure assist)
and i would call it a solid spiderman team

Also missiles don’t scale hit stun at the end of combos like plasma beam does.

Mmm… I noticed yesterday that another assist that might be helpful to keep on hold or at least the opponent crouching is Thor’s beam assist. Do you guys think they have good synergy?
