Sphere flame will always touch them even when you DHC immediately since it leaves his hand the moment it starts. If the opponent blocks they are in block stun avoiding UWT. The reason why photon array into UWT is good is because, one Doom builds stupid meter and two, most people will think Doom is going for the throw reset or they will see you’re “fuck up” and naturally block. UWT catches them for that instinct. Another thing about it, the two photon shots (one going left the other right) will still be there even during the grab animation so if they did tech forward and just so happened to read correctly to hit you, the other photon stops them from a full combo. Just to be clear, you want to cancel Doom as soon as you see the first two (the left and right ones) appear in his hands. If I had known it wasn’t common knowledge I’d have made a video before I deployed… Sorry.

What happened versus OMGitzAndre, Wentinel, and Viscant.
I honestly always wanted to be in Viscants pool. IMO Spidey beats Wesker, and Haggar, and phoenix.
I Money Matched Andre and almost had him, I know what to do next time. Vergil can be annoying as fuck though, his AA’s are really good. I have to be patient and use a good assist to get me in easier.
What happened during those matches? how did they go? was it all Spidey that won that for you? Some incite would be awesome!!
well, it’s timing are really really strict if you using the sphere flame, I’ve test that tech but I DHC-ing to Frank West, so I thought it will be same, but the fact is not, sorry
so, are the Photon Array>UWT DHC only works when the opponent do a front air recovery or every air recovery works? because when I tried to do that when the opponent neutral air recovery, the array hitting the opponent first
From what I remember, keep in mind I can’t test it myself at the moment, I caught all three techs. Could I be wrong? Yes, considering I usually don’t go for resets with Spidey and only tend to do it when Doom is snapped in and I have Spidey right behind him and the combo I’m doing with Doom won’t kill even after a level 3. Again, I apologize, I try to put out as much info for the community that I can but I really did figure this was common knowledge with all the UWT DHC setups that are out there.

yeah so after watching F.champ’s Dorm/Doom combo I decided he would be my “third” because I felt that I couldn’t play spiderman without the hidden missle extensions, and then I realized I had just copied xero15’s team(or at least one of your many) which has like tons of technology that you Airborne and the rest already found out so…thanks for that so much information to use again haha your “something different” cmv is freaking amazing haha.

Been playing 2(3) spidey teams lately:
Spidey (Web Ball)/Vergil (Rapid Slash)/Wesker (Samurai Edge)
Spidey (Web Ball)/Frank West (Shopping Cart)/Felicia (Sand Splash) OR Rocket Raccoon (Pendulum)
ok so I tested the DHC into UWT from Doom to Spidey again now that I have my setup back. I also noticed I made a mistake when I wrote the transcript earlier. I meant to say s:m: instead of s:h:. S:h: has too much hitstun that they tech later and lower to the ground. Using s:m:, to me anyways, seems easier but it will defeat all techs at the same timed input. On forward tech it will look like they are close to Spidey to knock him out but DHC’ing into UWT turns it into a frame kill eliminating the start up. I’m going to record it of course but probably will try to find something else to record with it as well to make it a worthwhile upload.

old team: Spider-man(ball)/Ghost Rider(Hellfire)/Vergil(Rapid Slash)
new team: Spider-man(ball)/Doc. Doom(Missile)/Wesker(Staple OTG)
and yes, I’ve got bullied almost 10 times in a row with Deadpool/Dante/Ammy and Vergil/Strider/Hawkeye team, dunno why but, most of his character are bad match-up for my team, I think I need help for this
Well im not that new to the forums just never posted anything, but not at all new when it comes to playing Mr Parker.
i like to run Avenger based teams. Hell, a good chunk of the Marvel cast is are Avengers, currently serving and what not. Anyways, my teams are:
Spider-Man(web ball)/Captain America(Shield Slash)/Iron Man(Respulsor)
i love this team b/c Spider-Man or Cap can run point and i’ve been using these two since the days of Marvel Super Heroes. Finally i can use these 2 on a team together and not dread it lol. Each benefit from each others assist. Web ball goes very well Cap cartwheel mix up game and Shield Slash helps Spidey get in and attain good pressure. And of Course you guys seen what Spider-Man can do with Repulsors assist when comboing towards the corner.
My other team is an Airborne inspired team:
Spidey(Spider Sting)/Nova(Centurion Rush)/Iron Man(Repulsor) - all decked out in black and gold ^^
i think Spider Sting is one of those assist the some people may turn a brown eye at, but when used properly it can be a great tool for some characters, like Nova. It extends Nova Combos and if Nova is on point and in danger, its a great Alpha counter, its also pretty good for doing more repulsor blast damage for Iron Man in corner b/c of how high Sting puts you in the air after and otg Smart Bomb. This team has turned into my anti air/teleport team. Between Nova’s and Iron Man’s assist i can defend myself well against pesky teleporters and people jumping or tri dashing in.
My last team is:
Spider Man(Web Swing/Web Ball)/Hulk(Gamma Wave)/Hawkeye(Greyhound) - Yeah, thats right. i’m using all of Spidey assists
This was my most recent team i created, and im really digging them so far. i got most of my options covered with this team: Spider Man swings in with the help of Hawkeye, and gets an otg extension with the help of Hulk’s gamma wave assist. Maximum Spider into Gamma Crush is glorious, does amazing damage especially after good Spider Man combo. Another great perk about this team is i can put Hawkeye on point and play the range game if i have to and Gamma Wave is a good tool to keep opponents back. The reasons why web ball is up there is b/c there’s a nice mix you can do in the corner of after a Hulk combo in the corner and it goes like this - Combo, Web Ball assist, Gamma Wave, anti command grab. Opponents pop outta of web ball so quick that dont have to time react. Its not something i rely on but its a nice tool to have under my belt.
yeah i ran traditional Spider-Man teams, with Doom Missiles and all that jazz, but something didn’t feel right to me. Call me a crazy and all but i like it when heroes work together to win the day.
When i face saturated teams with the likes of Wesker, Doom, Vergil, etc, winning feels just tad bit more satisfying when playing a heroic team of Avengers.

Using Human Rocket to negate her Soul Fists and get in close of enough while she’s in the air then then using UWT to snare her up. i actually did that in a match outta pure desperation, worked out in my favor though XD

As for the Spider Sting stuff, I actually have a sick vortex with Nova on point that involves using Spider Sting for the setup. I’ll probably put up a video explaining it after I get done with all this plink-dashing crap…
Also, despite all of the hatred people have put towards Spider Sting in the past (I myself have thrown the most hatred at it), people have to realize that although it doesn’t have any invincibility or super unique thing… IT’S SPIDER STING!!! We’re talking about a potential top 5 anti-air move as an assist. THIS MOVE TRADES WITH SHELL KICK AND FOOT DIVE. Because of that, you can use Spidey to trade with moves that your point character can’t deal with and manage to pick up off of it fairly easily.
I prefer it over Web Swing at times because Web Swing isn’t too practical as a combo extender at times (i.e. Nova, Dante, etc.), and having Spider Sting on teams like Nova/Spidey/Akuma makes it a little more versatile.
Don’t get me wrong though, I love Web Swing to death. It’s just a slower one-hit tatsu for me.
Yep, exactly, sir. The only issue I’ve been having is DHC’ing in range without hitting the bitch. I’ve had a couple odd occurrences lately where Nova will hit the assist and then I dHC and the point character doesn’t get thrown, or where the opponent pops X-Factor after the flash and it made them immune somehow. I gotta work with it more. =\
skimming some of this thread i see the spidey men are still very much alive and kicking.
i had a spider-man team in mind and i was wondering if i could get some opinions on it:
spider-man (web ball) iron-man(repulsor blast) magneto(emd)
i haven’t been able to actually test out this team due to my recent illness, but on paper it sounds legit with the dhc from max spider into proton cannon and the emd in the back to help spidey get in on people. not to mention the repulsor could be used for some nice mix ups too as well as web throw combos.
another thing is which combo should i start learning with spiderman first (I know he has ToDs, but i don’t want to bite off anymore than i can chew atm since i only played spidey in mvc2)?
If you’re confident with your IM, it’d better if you placed him as anchor since Mags has better DHC from MS with shockwave and benefits from repulsor. IM, in my opinion doesn’t get much out of disruptor anyway.
For combos, get used to zip OTGs to get the most damage. I still think the most efficient bnb is iNerd’s as it does good damage and also saves your ground bounce. It’s really good for those teams which don’t have hidden missiles assist. Look it up in the combo thread.
I am wondering about Spidey[web ball] /Deadpool[Katana] /Doom [Missles/Rocks].
After the basic web swing combo, I call deadpool for otg then HxxUWT is that auto grab?
Because finishing it with Maximum spider nets 630 while the reset gives 740 ish.
Pretty sure this team has been discussed before. Try to check some pages back. Also, if you’re finishing your combo, use CA instead of MS after katanarama as Deadpool has awful DHC from Spidey MS.
how important is wesker’s otg to spidey? I wanna throw him on my team.
