the main reason why i dropped spidey/hawk/doom is because hawkeye’s dhc’s do very low damage at the end of combos.

Just switch Dorm and Deadpool’s spots and you’re good to go. I’m assuming you’re using the black hole assist to get in; Katana-rama works with Dorm for combo extensions, plus you have the quick work infinite with anchor XF.

Was in the mood to play a couple of my old vanilla teams (Spidey/Hulk/Taskmaster and Spidey/Hulk/Dorm), and somehow decided to mess with Gamma Wave in casuals today. THIS. ASSIST. IS SICK. (for Spidey)

Not only is it a decent combo extender, granting two extra web throws after a web throw to mid screen, but it gives strong horizontal space control since each slab will continue to pop up even after a previous slab was beaten by a projectile, provides stupid easy pickups into standing magic series xx :m: web throw -> full combo, and on top of all of that, the freaking wave CONCEALS Spidey as he wave dashes through it! This makes Spidey’s pressure even better, since the opponent has even less time to react to what kind of pressure Spidey is applying, be it guessing between c.:l: and :uf: web zip overheads or Spider Sting Spider Bite, or even what side Spidey will land on while the opponent is falling.

Pairing Spidey(b) and Hulk(a) up with either a lockdown assist or an air control assist makes one hella fun team. I’d also like to mention that if you use Gamma Wave, you have access to Gamma Tsunami THC’s, which give Hulk a hell of a lot of frame advantage when paired with average-timed assists like Crawler Assault. Knowing this, it’s possible to THC and get a Gamma Crush afterwards as the opponent is wall bouncing back towards Hulk, lol.

Oh… and web swing assist grants Hulk a relaunch in the corner for some purdy good damage.

I’m a pretty novice Spider-Man player, but I absolutely wanna pick this character up. I’m thinking of using Spidey/Nova/Hawkeye, mostly out of just character preference. Any thoughts on the pairings?

Since I currently don’t have a job I have been going to tourneys in state when I am able to go to tourneys. I run Spidey(a)/ Skrull(a) / Doom(B) as my main team.
I was wondering though. I love the synergy with Spidey/ Skrull w/ Stone smite for the wall bounce extension but I am kind of drifting away from Doom. I like him and he is fun and I have a pretty solid Doom, but I was wondering if anyone had a good character for an anchor that can work well with both Spidey and Skrull? Skrull w/ Doom missile assist is godlike but is there anything else anyone can think of other than Doom? Someone who can benefit both Spidey and Skrull.

You should talk to Airborne, he plays Spidey/Nova (I think). As for Spidey and Hawkeye. I would probably say use triple arrow assist(a) to help spidey with approaching and getting in.
It seems like a good team. A little low on health for my taste. But that is just my personal preference(I like to pair Spidey up with higher health characters)

Missiles isn’t the best assist for Skrull, just change it to Molecular Shield since you’re using smite as a combo extender anyway and that assist works quite well with Spidey too. Shield acts a bit like Sent drones as it keeps your meteor smashes safe and if you call at just the right time with Spidey, it can work well as a decent lockdown assist.

That is interesting. I will give it a try at least. I never found use for Molecular Shield. I guess what I am saying is I don’t know if I want to use Doom anymore. Also I actually have good success with Doom missiles. Elastic slam mixups with missiles. Also after KOing a character I can call Doom Missiles and air dash to the other side of the screen, when done right, it causes the opponent to switch sides when they come in and they are usually blocking the opposite direction so they eat the missiles. This usually gives me time to air dash back towards them and stone dunk them out of the missiles into a full combo. Also if Spidey corner pressure with missiles is godlike. Doom missiles lockdown, zipline them from the ground into air L,M,H into combo. Also if I catch them dry I have a combo that uses both missiles and stone smite and it does 965k-1mil with 1 meter and builds 1 2/3. Idk Missiles for my team and playstyle is probably the best for my playstyle. But what I am saying is that Idk if I want to keep using Doom. Everyone seems to use him and (although he is good) I was wondering if anyone can think of other anchors that work well with Spidey and Skrull it would be good to hear.

Spidey-Nova is a special kind of synergy that works very well if you’re willing to put in the effort. Mainly, it’s about knowing how to use Centurion Rush with Spidey to apply 50/50 setups after ground resets in the corner, where the opponent has to guess whether you’re going to follow through with an unblockable or punish a chicken guard attempt with UWT.

There’s a lot more to Spidey-Nova than just that, but I’ll save that for when I’m done with finals.

can spider-man combo off of his ground throws with a spidey/storm thc? today i found out he can do that with frank

probably. the only preflash startup that matters is the point character for thc. post flash hitboxes on ice storms is probably similar to post flash frank cart, i dont know the numbers off the top of my head

Has anyone consistently figured out the trick to DHCing from a post-webthrow MS into Iron Man’s Cannon? Seems like 90% of the time the opponent falls into it halfway through, but every so often they’ll appear right in the initial damage flash and get smacked for full hits. I tried messing with the timing this afternoon, seeing if I could work out where in the web throw arc to hit my super, but I haven’t had much luck figuring out the window yet.

It’s easiest when you use his anti air proton cannon but you still have to time is about a half second after he hits them from the last hit of MS.

Blue Light Special comes out 2 frames after the hyper flash, as well as possibly having to travel a tiny bit before reaching the opponent, while Hail Storm comes out in 1 frame after the hyper flash, covering the whole screen.

Hey Airborne, GG’s a few nights ago. I wasn’t so high on a Spidey-Frank shell, but your team has really solid synergy. I can see that it depends on pinning someone, which is basically impossible to do to another Spider-Man, but it’s definitely got some nastiness. Also like that you can level him pretty well without TAC’s iirc.

Gonna look into (strong) gimmick resets since you have two AA hypers? Renhoff/Spider-Man Kid used em when we played and they’re kinda hard to spot, especially Frank’s. Can only truly abuse it against a couple characters, but it’s worth dabbling with IMO.

I dropped almost everything in those matches though, lol. @__@ You weren’t there for the previous, but I was primarily messing with other teams that night, exploring new characters that I never got around to learning. The main thing I really need to work on with my team at the moment is placing my Centurion Rush assist properly with Spidey on point. Without using it properly, I wasn’t able to establish air control against you so that I could start to pin you down.

Your synergy is quite solid as well; I wasn’t expecting Hawkeye/X-23 to flow so smoothly, but you had some nice tech to abuse in those matches.

I’m not too big on the gimmick resets since they’re so easy to punish when guessed wrong, but I’ll be working more with UWT and FFC once I’m done with school next week. I like to save my UWT tech for my 50/50 situation most of all. ;O

You have to delay it a little. It is risky. But the damage is decent.

That is easier however if you mess up they pop out of the anti air version much easier and are free to punish Iron Man.

simple hawkeye combo with ice relaunch -> poison tip otg -> land and immediately super scatter shot -> see if they did anything -> if not, uwt

So when I first started using spidey I was running Spidey/Dante/Doom, then I droppe Dante because I wasn’t a fan of how million dollars DHCed into MS. I put Doom second for sphere flame DHC. So i started running Spidey/Doom/Akuma. But honestly I ended up missing Dante. Also i just find Doom/Akuma not very fun to play (their style just doesn’t fit with me, they were pretty much there for assists), so I decided to run Spidey/Dante again, but I’m wondering about a third? Jam session is supposed to basically be my replacement for missiles anti-air, but I’m unsure who to use for Anchor/Horizontal spacial control? Or even maybe switching Dante to one of his forward assists and picking a different Anti-air?

Maybe just throw out some ideas and their assists? As I said Doom/Akuma I don’t find fun to play. I also don’t enjoy Wesker/Sentinel. Besides those I’m open to suggestions.

Spidey-Dante is a very unique synergy because the combos rely on spidey comboing into either spider bite with the ground bounce or a web throw in the corner. from there, you can raw tag into Dante and essentially build one whole extra bar, allowing you to combo into million dollars and dhc into maximum spider for a crapton of damage.

you can choose to use weasel shot for a horizontal/ lockdown assist and then look for an air control assist, or stick with jam session and pick someone like magneto, Vergil, hawkeye, taskmaster, or someone else for a horizontal controlling assist since you don’t like akuma or doom.

Does anyone know if trish and spiderman can work well…i have been playing her since vanilla and i just seen what spiderman can do and go super interested. anyone got some strats or ideas…i was thinking of running spiderman/trish/wesker.
