The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread

Thanks for the combos airborne, I didnt know you could super jump cancel like that. I had learned,one or two combos for each character,which I cant pull off regular, so I need to learn those. My main problem with spidey now is keeping the pressure on and getting in. I can web zip in but im too readable and I havent mastered web swing/web zip on ag reaction well yet so cant really get them locked down.

to be honest i’m not a fan of spidey/frank/combo assist for frank just so you can get the same levelup synergy with just one character+frank. i think it’s important to have your third character have an assist that helps both characters in the neutral game first and foremost. the reason why i don’t see my team as a 1 point 2 assist team is because i run plasma beam instant of missiles because level <4 frank is ass at covering missiles

there aren’t a lot of characters that fit the role of good assist+level up synergy. ammy kind of works but then spidey gets 2 lock down assists which is kind of redundant. i don’t remember if dark hole holds them after maximum spider or if it’s fast enough to come out after a spider sting -> raw tag but if it does dorm works too i guess.

and if web swing assist still did a soft knockdown this wouldn’t be a problem

edit: also if maximum spider was mashable for 30 hits

I agree in the sense that the assist of the third character should be more than a combo extender on a Spidey-Frank team, be it space-controlling like Dark Hole or Plasma Beam, or a counter-hitting unblockable setup assist like Centurion Rush (hell, you could probably use Nova Rocket for space control if you really wanted to). However, the assists that most help Frank when it comes to lockdown, getting a hit in, and whatnot are generally the ones that are best used for combo extension.

I couldn’t really get Dark Hole to link after a raw tagged spider sting, but I feel that it’s doable (although you probably have 1 frame or so to do it, lol). It feels more realistic to use any assist that has a startup of 47 frames or less (so Nova Rocket would probably be the slowest assist that works fairly consistent).

I don’t think :h: Web Swing ever caused soft knockdown; I believe that they reduced the hitstun on it to the point that a raw web swing assist won’t knock the opponent all the way down to the ground. And, OMFG they should’ve made MS mashable. IT MAKES SOOO MUCH SENSE. I was hella upset when they announced Crawler Assault was mashable but MS isn’t.

having web swing act as the combo assist would have been too perfect. it won’t let you take two pictures but if you do web swing assist, otg camera, shopping cart super, web swing knocks them higher so they get hit with the top of the shopping cart hitbox making it look like this stuff

if web swing could be used to set up combos/snap shots after shopping cart super that would be something, but i never got it to work.

Follow xero’s advice BUT you need to become a god on assist calls and make sure Sent doesn’t get tagged and comes in with 30% health. Though you could just forsake the whole anchor comeback thing and use xfactor with spidey or dante and abuse drone for both characters.

It’d be a really strong team if you switched Dante and Sent’s places, but you need to keep in mind that Dante on anchor is almost a whole other character that you have to learn, due to the differences of him with X-Factor and the likes. Basically, you need to make Dante one of your strongest characters period. Also, the DHC synergy between Spidey and Sent is not too strong if you’re going from Maximum Spider, so you either need to find a way to combo into Crawler Assault every time or just raw tag after a Spider Sting with ground bounce into Sentinel for the simple Rocket Punch xx Plasma Storm or Dante for the retardedly long combo extension that grants you one more freakin’ bar.

Weasel Shot is just as strong, although Jam Session is preferred for Match-Ups such as Zero and Trish.

Definitely this. Sentinel Force assist is the most unsafe thing in the world (aside from Repulsor Blast, where Iron Man jumps in front of you and can be hit before and after the Repulsor Blast… wow, godlike assists that are extremely unsafe? Seems to be rather common these days…). As for the Sentinel comeback thing, you can still run him on anchor if you have enough faith in your Sentinel’s comeback ability, with and without X-Factor. If you want to get your Dante to anchor level, you could run Sentinel in serious matches, while making up random teams and teching in your anchor Dante in less serious matches. It’s how my Nova has become as strong as my Spidey, lol. (Team Angry Smurf is godlike: Hulk/Iron Man/Nova THEY ALL SMASH THE FUCKING GROUND SIMULTANEOUSLY ON ENTRANCE LOOOOOL)

Edit: Getting ninja’d all day, and coincidentally by the idea of running a Strider team…

I could see it working VERYYYY well, seeing the synergy that Doom and Strider have, but running Plasma Beam would probably be near mandatory.

I’m quite experienced with anchor Dante already but honestly I’m more comfortable with my Dante/Sent combination over Sent/Dante. If Spidey’s not a good cover for Sent though then I may reconsider altogether. How does he fair with Felicia on OTG assist?

felicia otg is alright i guess. nothing special. but anchor felicia has been getting more popular lately.

Weasel shot is best for left right mixups. It does lock down the opponent when in the corner but again if running with sentinel why have two horizontal assist?

spidey/doom/strider is cool. we don’t need to talk about the doom/strider stuff but the fact that vajra deals with some problem spider man matchups and the fact that it’s more than possible to convert off it it 90% of the time makes it awesome. also i don’t remember where i saw this but launch+vajra assist tk :m: webthrow combos.

the one thing that doesn’t work is legion for lazy thc combo enders it’s too slow

I recently switched back to my vanilla school team: Spiderman(ball)/Hulk(AA)/Ironman(beam)
it’s easy to play and suited for online play.
MS dhc Gamma Crush is very easy 800k dmg with a bnb before.

basically get Sidey in and let Hulk mash’em

I don’t believe I was able to get it to work, though I think it may be possible. Also, fucking Spidey/IM/Dormammu is broken. 950k Bnb’s, 1 Mil if you use cross-up stings (which are terribly easy with RB), 900k+ damage with Iron Man using the modified Krispy Kreme BnB, and lord knows I’ll come up with something stupid good with Dormammu and Repulsor Blast. Forgot to mention that pretty much all of this is feasible with Unibeam assist too. Oh, and I have a net-positive gain in meter if I DHC from Maximum Spider to Stalking Flare, and then immediately :m: Mass Change ADF j.:h: xx :l: Dark Hole.

Might have to divorce Spidey and Nova so I can focus on one at a time. I think I’d rather build one team around Spidey and one around Nova rather than continuing to force them to work together when it’s hindering my overall damage output. Oh well, they still work pretty damn well as a duo.
