The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread

I actually like the idea. I just have a personal preference with hitpoints lol so as for me personally I would be bothered by having no bulk besides Doom. Not a bad team though. Definitely look into Zero and Doom synergy as well. Spidey and Doom already have that stupid synergy with hidden missiles. Maybe you can find ways to do extended combos with Zero as he does need assists pretty badly when doing lots of damage and in general.

I was watching some of the SRK poster’s and the Spiderman player in that Japanese tournament match videos, I noticed everyone run Doom and/or some other lock down assist in their team. So I want to ask is a lock down assist essential for Spiderman? Because my team of Spiderman, Dante(Jam Session), Magneto(Disruptor) don’t really have one, so I wonder is there anything more I am get out of my team to support Spiderman, or should I change one of the assist and/or member.

Your team sounds ridiculously good, sir, lol. It sounds like you have enough lockdown on it! Although Disruptor doesn’t last that long, it forces the opponent to stop and block it so that you can get in, and provides enough blockstun to give you one free high/low or left/right guess on your opponent. Jam Session is a fantastic lockdown assist when used right, because of how long it keeps your opponent in blockstun. You just need to learn how your assists can be used to lock your opponent down so you can open them up.

Started messing around with your team’s assist; I am not a fan of using missiles, so I was working with Plasma Beam and Ryuenjin. Came up with a 813k combo that doesn’t require the use of kara stings and keeps them in the corner:
Starting midscreen, 813k, builds ~1.4 bars, ends in corner

If that combo is too overwhelming for you right now, I came prepared with a more basic combo that still manages to do adequate damage:
Starting midscreen, 750k (EXACTLY, LOL), builds ~1.3 bars, ends in corner

Again, these combos are meant to keep the opponent in the corner, since Spider-man is strongest when he has them there. Be careful if you choose to use Plasma Beam as Doom’s assist, because these combos CAN cause the cross-up sting to occur (and if you desire to learn the cross-up sting follow-ups, you can tack on MASSIVE damage!!!). If you decide to keep with Missiles, be aware that you need to learn to call missiles so that you can momentarily lock them down with your point character to bide enough time for the missiles to come down and keep them in blockstun for an extended period of time, so that you get access to your devastating high/loiw mixups. Also, not only can Ryuenjin be used as a combo extender to allow you to connect OTG Web Zip xx Maximum Spider, but Zero apparently has some stupid ass damage if you manage to alpha counter with his Ryuenjin… I think that might be somewhere on Youtube.

Anyways, I honestly prefer Zero leading the team over Spidey (Zero/Spidey/Doom instead of Spidey/Zero/Doom), mainly because I feel that Zero is a stronger point character and Spidey is a stronger middle character. However, my opinion is most likely biased, due to the fact that I have a greater chance of winning a match the longer I keep Spidey alive (and I don’t play Zero LOL). Web Swing assist can actually act as a 1-hit tatsu for Zero, allowing him to open up the opponent fairly well, while keeping Plasma Beam or Hidden Missiles assist fresh for combo extension.

You can run the team however you want, since it is a 2 point, 1 assist team, after all. I’d recommend that you switch between leading either one often so that you can get a good grip on swapping their places in order to take care of the Match-Up at hand.

What do you guys make of Hawkeye’s Scatter Shot xx Gimlet tech in terms of synergy with Spider-Man. Gonna hit the lab with it over the weekend, but I figured maybe some of you could help with out with some ideas.

I’m not sure what you’re asking, but scatter shot DHCs amazingly after MS (except in the corner) and when you have two bars with Hawkeye you can Gimlet dhc MS for maximum awesomeness if they ever press a button.

Haha, maybe my team is really good. It is true I don’t use Jam Session enough for lock down purpose because I find it hard to combo from, but Disruptor definitely knocks them back too far and too fast for me to do anything on hit, although it is great for getting in and getting people off me.

One thing I really hate about my team is DHC from Spiderman into Dante, the DHC glitch float makes make of Dante’s gun hyper misses:(

No worries, I wasnt tryin to call you out or anything, I just cant get it myself to work. I dont have the greatest executuon though. I do like arthur alot with Spidey and been working on finding my middle character. So far Dorm is winning though I also like Nova, Curious to see the ridiculous tech you have :stuck_out_tongue: Wish Felicia DHC’d after a maximum spider :frowning:

If you’re running Spidey/Felicia then you are running a setup type team instead of a combo based team. Switching to Felicia you want to DHC into her helper for unblockable setups etc

Yea I figured that would prob be the way to run that team. I hate however leaving characters alive and Spidey has the ability to lay waste to characters. So ill prob look for another character to run with spidey/?/arthur. Ill try it it out though

You don’t need to switch characters you just have to adjust your combos with Spidey. The key thing with him is his style depends on his assist really. Teams like Spidey/Frank Spidey/Felicia Spidey/Morrigan Spidey/Phoenix etc. are all setup based teams to achieve a stronger ‘gimmick’, for lack of a better word right now. Spidey’s main objective on that type team is to build meter and make a safe situation to setup said ‘gimmick’. Once that’s setup Spidey falls back then retarded bullshit happens till he’s needed again. Felicia plus helper plus annoying assist as third for lockdown, usually a good beam, is stupid crazy.

Hmm I gotcha. So Spidey Felicia Arthur Works in your opinion? What combo would you recommend for said team? My basic one is just your typical spidey 16hit bnb ending with felicia otg into web throw TK MS, into kitty helper… How can I improve on that?

No only part of it would work. I’ll pick it up later today to help you out but what you want to work on is dealing as much damage with Spidey along with meter and instead of going into MS raw tagging into Felicia after a web throw, preferably one going to the corner then doing Kitty Helper as it will put Felicia and the opponent in the ideal spot for them to fear you, the helper, and Arthur

Yeah, pretty much this. You’ll have to adjust the combos depending on what assists you’re running, though I’m guessing you’ll be working with Daggers and either Sand Splash or Buckler?

Correct. Prob Sand Splash for the extra otg, until I got Spidey comfortable enough to deal enough damage on his own , than ill try buckler out for unblockables (
