Hey yo it’s me, it’s me, it’s RDG (RUSH DOWN GOD) VDO here, just wanted to say what up to all my Tekken killers! Hey I haven’t played Tekken seriously since the 1st tag. I’ve played T5 DR and T6 BR, but nothing too serious to really compete. Well I am looking to get back into the swing of things so I expect to get bodied frequently when I play, but I’m not too easy to beat lol. I was in a room with this dude named Mak_nificent or some shit like that and he beat me a match 3-1 I think and he started bashing me because I grabbed him a lot with King! He was like yo man you suck, yousa bum, you ain’t shit for that, and I was like wtf man is your problem? His boy came in the room and said nowadays people get seriously offended when they get thrown in Tekken! Yo if this is true, then it really goes to show how fuckin STUPID people are for real!!! Are you fuckin serious?? I asked the dumb fucks…hey if I’m not mistaken, King IS a WRESTLER is he not?? I guess the next time I will have to use BJJ or Muy Thai you stupid ass fuckin bums!! Can somebody with sense please comment on this?? Please tell me if this idiot type shit is true or not…cause man if it is then it’s truly a lost cause for new age gamers like this!! Anyways I look forward to gettin murdered by the pros so I can level up! Oh and currently I’m only on PSN and my gt is VDO101, so hit me up fellas. Soon I will be with Xbox too, but until then PSN is where I have to kill and be killed!
Haha, how you been :D?
I’m playing the game myself, we need to chill it’s been ages.
Anytime my brotha! Hit me up…
i can’t believe how often i’ve heard “tekken is hard” over the last week. what. the. fuck.
I’ve found it easier to get into than SF4 and getting endlessly and safely uppercutted to death.
Tekken needs to change…also those char models need to be redone. I’m tired of Nina looking manlier with each sequel.
I assume you’re talking about the running shoulder ram right?
If so, it’s usually used as a tech trap for knock away combo enders, so basically combo, power hit to end it and they immediately start running at you. If you tech any direction and they’re expecting the tech, the tackle is unblockable and will hit you. If you can recover in time, generic FC 2 when timed properly can interrupt their tackle. But if they do a running 3, for example, it will low crush your s-mid.
The safer option is to get familiar with the roll system. Basically if you roll (NOT TECH) while grounded and hold down, your character will remain grounded. If your opponent is going for a tackle then, as you noted, it will naturally option select to the trample animation and hit you while you’re grounded. If you time your ground roll properly, you’ll evade their trample and they’ll run right by you, escaping both options.
 It’s funny you say that, because Nina and Anna specifically went through model shape-ups to make them (their shoulders, specifically) not look so burly.
Anna’s beta TTT2 figure was a sight to behold, LOL. She was definitely hittin the gym. If I had the picture here, I’d post it.
Everyone I’ve run into online is a huge troll.
I’m surprised people don’t try to get better even in player matches.
played my first ranked match today. the person used solo king and i swear he had a 10-string programmed into his controller because he kept busting that out but didn’t know anything else.
Spoiler
i lost
any longtime stick players preferring pad for this? i hadn’t touched a pad since the dreamcast days but i had to use one for a bit due to noise, and for some reason it seemed a little easier. even for VF i use a stick. never been in this position before and i don’t like it.
For tekken I swear by dual shock I hear Korean sticks are good and I wanna try one its just that doe to the way they are built you have to go through alot of drama to get one or mod your stick to house one
Why does everyone hate everyone hate Eddy/Christie so much? Both me and my friend just entered Tekken with TTT2 and he already hates them. I hear they get a bad rep as masher characters, but how can I explain the difference between mashing and “f4>3+4>3+4>db3>db3” to him? I just took them up because I went “Aww sick. I totally need dancers to go with my boxing velociraptor.” I got so bored of him raging that I started using Jinpachi/Alex, but I really wanted to learn Jinpachi anyway.
Damn it, ever since I ended up fighting and losing to this Marduk/Angel player on ranked 3 times, I’ve been on a pathetic losing streak. I went from being 10-2 to 15-11 on ranked. It just about makes me want to just outright drop Lei, King, and Dragunov, and go with a Mishima, probably Heihachi.
Can you succeed with Heihachi and Jin without being able to do ewgf consistently? Also who are the most offensive chars in the game with relatively safe stuff on block? I think Jin has a good pressure game and a lot of his strings are safe on block which is pretty cool, not sure about Heihachi though
Man I am on such a colossal losing streak. Started off doing really well.
Solo mode is such a handicap at low levels (i.e without big damage combos), versus 2 health bars is almost unwinnable.
Weirdly I do really well against higher skilled players, playing footsies and generally playing a more ‘mindful’ game, yet, I’m getting bodied hard by people throwing out random strings and playing the odds. I guess my first problem is I’m not landing much damage when I do score a hit.
You can’t just pick up a Mishima and rely on EWGF as a win-button. So just stop that train of thought now.
First: Jin can’t EWGF; He doesn’t use Mishima-style karate anymore. So yes, you can be successful with Jin without EWGF, for obvious reasons. Hehachi on the other hand, no.
Most staple combos require about 2-3 EWGF’s. Usually two as a hitconfirm, and one as the finisher.
You can play Jin and Hei without EWHF(Hookfist for Jin, he actually has two) and EWGF. Watch the matches of good players. EWH/GF isn’t something you see all the time. You should still try to get it down. Jin can hit 90 damage on his own no wall/no tag with EWHF. Lurking TZ forums, it’s like everything revolves around EWHF for Jin and EWGF for the Mishimas. As such you might feel you must get this down or cannot play them.
Keep practicing to get it down, but keeping playing Jin/Hei so you can at least improve in every other aspect regarding them. So when the day comes when you can consistently EWH/GF, you’ll have more than that on your side.
Where did Jin come from? I’m only thinking about Heihachi, I don’t do tag since I almost lost every time I use a tag team.
Don’t be ridiculous, I don’t pick a character because of one move. You don’t think I can be decent with Heihachi without using EWGF? Wow. -_-
Can you read? That half of my post was for Hi-Tops, so stop being so self-centered.
And no, I DON’T. Without the fantastic frame advantage that EWGF provides, the Mishimas become a family of somewhat decent high-low games with meh non-wall juggle damage.
Wow. -_-
what does
